Ode To The Journey
I close my eyes, drifting back to a younger time.
There he is, first appearing to me.
A kind and shy greeting.
I recall few words, smiling softly to myself in this moment.
He was adorable. I thought myself not liked.
And in the now, where he has drifted back before me.
How delightful I find this man.
Youths innocence still peering from behind eyes so blue;
the sea would envy.
Warm exchanges, tight embraces;
My enchantment during his visits, contained deeply, firmly within.
My wanton indulgence, consisting of discovering, for the first time,
this sensitive, gentle soul, of immeasurable depth,
truly known by few. Will permission be granted for my entry?
And I ask myself, "Does he know I adore him?".
I restrain my inner promptings;
for indulging in expressions of fondness and attachment.
Despite his intelligence;
he knows not, qualities seen from the outer world.
Let it be known, of his light,
and quiet, unassuming charm.
This man of generosity, good nature;
a fellow spiritual traveler.
I proclaim all and must impart;
he is loved.
