I am so concerned about the people of New Orleans. Just kinda waiting...waiting to see where it's all going to go. I am glad that Heidi and her family are out of there and so many other people. It's just crazy how bad this storm is getting.
I had seen on TV days ago about all the buses that they had lined up ready to go, and the evacuation order that had been called out. We came to my parents house to hang out this weekend, and they don't have TV anymore after Mom passed, so I haven't gotten to see what's going on til now, finally getting online.
I have family in Beaumont, Texas; Aunt, Uncle and cousins. I am concerned about them too. They get hit by this shit a lot too! I just read about that town evacuating too. I read this is a scary storm! Another storm of the century. I am trying to write them an email in another window actually, now.
It's weird that we just left New Orleans and they are having this happen so soon after our visit. All those places of history...the buildings, the cemeteries, and of course, the people.
So we wait....we wait.

The Health Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar
A Bitter Medicine with Sweet Results
By Michelle Johnson
In the search of health and longevity, I stumbled upon Apple Cider Vinegar. It’s reputation as a folk medicine had apparently brought it under the gaze of people within the health and science industry. Research by nutritionist Carol S. Johnston of Arizona State University East in Mesa suggests that vinegar packs a punch in more than just salad dressings. Now, instead of merely being touted as a stout cleanser of the body when taken internally, it also has been shown to have beneficial effects towards weight loss and stabilizing blood sugar in non-diabetics.In Prevention of Diabetes Johnston’s study showed it had a stabilizing effect on blood sugar on people who were not diabetic. The stabilizing effect was most pronounced on pre-diabetics whose blood glucose-levels were almost cut in half. In fact, the effectiveness was comparable to that of the diabetic medication Metformin. A Swedish research team, led by Elin M. Östman, discovered that the benefits of vinegar can be reaped by other methods as well. Participants in a study ate pickles after a high-carb breakfast and the other participants did not. It was shown that even pickles had a beneficial effect on the blood glucose levels.Vinegar and Weight Loss Other studies soon followed and it was shown that people who take two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar before two meals each day lost an average of a half pound each week. It is speculated that it inhibits carbohydrate absorption. The chemical suspected of creating this effect is the acetic acid. Due to the cringe-worthy sourness of vinegar, however, many companies have tried to formulate pill forms of vinegar. The effectiveness of the pills are highly questionable in general, though, and people are encouraged to stay with the true vinegar, instead. An average half pound weekly weight loss would result in an overall average weight loss of 26 pounds in one year. A sizeable loss if you can stand the procedure. Hard to Swallow: Getting Vinegar in Your Diet It is recommended that red, white or wine are the types of vinegar chosen. Other kinds, such as balsamic or rice, do not contain as high of concentrations of acetic acid. Easy, more palatable forms of vinegar can be found in pickled vegetables or in oil and vinaigrette salad dressings. For the bold of heart, it is recommended to choose organic apple cider vinegar as the taste seems to be a bit more mild than the regular apple cider vinegar. Measure the vinegar into a shot glass and toss it back. And, it’s always best to follow it with a nice chaser. I prefer a little regular apple juice.
I am still carrying around my Lafitte water bottle, from my New Orleans trip and when all of us went to the oldest bar in the US. It says it right on the label. But Danny and I thought that there might be an older bar back East, so I looked it up. And there was. But it has closed on and off through the years and so Lafitte wins because it has stayed open the whole time.

Looking At What We Don’t Want To See
It is one of life’s great paradoxes that the things we don’t want to look at in ourselves are the very things we need to look at in order to know ourselves better and to become more fully who we are. The feelings that make us want to run away are buried treasure full of energy and inspiration if we are willing to look. These feelings come in many forms, from strange images or snippets of information to recurring dreams and feelings that rise up seemingly without a reason. Whatever shape they come in, and no matter how scary they seem, these messengers bring the information we need in order to grow.
When we are tired of pushing something down, or trying to run away from it, a good first step is to write down what we think we are avoiding. Often this turns out to be only the surface of the issue or a symbol of something else. Expressing ourselves fully on paper is a safe way to begin exploring the murky territory of the unconscious. The coolness of the intellect can give us the distance we need to read what we have written and feel less afraid of it. It helps if we remember that no matter how dark or negative our thoughts or feelings may be, these are energies shared by all humanity. We are not alone in the dark, and all the gurus and teachers we admire had to go through their own unprocessed emotional territory in order to come out the other side brighter and wiser. This can give us the courage we need to open the treasure chest of what we have been avoiding.
Within the parts of ourselves that we don’t want to look at, there are emotions that need to be felt. Unfelt emotions are stuck energy, and when we leave emotions unprocessed, we deprive ourselves of access to that energy. When we feel strong enough, we can begin the process of feeling those emotions, on our own or with guidance from a spiritual counselor. It is through this work that the buried treasure of energy and inspiration will pour forth from our hearts, giving us the courage to look at all the parts of ourselves with insight and compassion.

I am still having nightmares about my Mom and trying to save her from passing. Had a horrible one again the other night. And before that, I had one of someone shooting Danny. Wasn't a very pleasant sleeping day.
And that night, when we went to Walmart, I reached up to grab 2 packets of lower sodium taco seasoning and I got a flash of watching her do it at the store when she was alive. We would go to the store together and I would watch her get the packets, one by one. I saw her arm over mine in the same movement Saturday night.
The tears started and wouldn't stop when, "In your eyes" came on in the car, on the way home. They continued and so did Danny's. I told him that I just feel like I let her down, that I had been there for her, my whole life and I couldn't save her when she passed over. I might type my dream out on here....not sure. I wrote it in my journal here. I don't know if I can remember all of it in the same details.
I think of Mom all the time. I see her in different situations, I hear her laughing when something is funny. I hear her bitching about an injustice against me or Danny, or Harmony. I see her movements in my everyday life, expressions and everything inbetween. I miss her so much, and that is such an understatement.
Sometimes I think I might go insane, because I have such an urgent need to talk to her, to hug her, to hear her laugh and I can't. I can't get to her. I..............and I don't know what to do with that. There is no place to hide from these feelings, no warm hugs from her to make it better. It's still just incredibly sad for me. I don't imagine that will ever go away either. That hole will never go away.
So have you ever smelled your computer chair? Does it smell like ass?

This is where I was thinking would be cool to meet up with some Ravers sometime. We are looking into going there in October. We have been there before and always stay at the Crescent Hotel.
This is about their special going on for October.

Paranormal Pair Package
Couples Opting For Opportunity To Sleep In A Morgue
(EUREKA SPRINGS, AR) – The lucky couple fluffs their pillows, slips under the comfortable covers and turns off the light there on the nightstand. They smile guardedly knowing this will probably not be like any other night they ever spent in a hotel. Why? They are sleeping in a morgue!
As part of a special “Paranormal Pair Package,” guests can enter to win the opportunity to sleep in the area once used as a morgue when The 1886 Crescent Hotel and Spa was operated here as a cancer curing hospital in the late 1930s. The owner of the hotel at that time was Norman Baker, a charlatan and self-degreed “doctor.” The autopsy table he used for experimentation on patients –both living and dead- remains as the focal point of this macabre room.
And the night the winning couple gets to slumber in this eerie, some would say spooky, setting? Halloween 2008. The place? A quaint Arkansas Ozarks community that has become somewhat famous for its reports of ghostly close encounters, Eureka Springs.
Two sites that have probably added more “evidence” to that compendium of spooky speculation are Eureka Springs' landmark historic hotels, The Crescent and its sister hotel, The 1905 Basin Park Hotel. These two properties have now joined together to offer guests the “Paranormal Pair,” a three-day / two night package of ghostly proportions. The package will be available beginning August 1 and will run thru October 20, the day of the morgue drawing.
“Probably when people hear the hotel name Crescent or Basin Park they have questions about two things. They usually ask us about weddings and if we are really haunted,” said Jack Moyer, vice president of operations and development for both properties, “and we have great answers for both. Our weddings are dreams come true and our ghost sightings are sometimes explained away as ‘It must have been a dream.' But when personal report after personal report, eerie photo after eerie photo somewhat substantiate that something mysterious is goin' on you have a tendency to swing toward the side of believability.”
Whether a believer or not guests can now hear the stories, see the sights, and take their own photographs as part of the Paranormal Pair Package. Guests stay one night in the Basin Park, taking their ghost tour; and stay one night at the Crescent, taking that hotel's ghost tour. When not on the tour, guests can stealthfully meander through the halls and public areas of both hotels to do their own “spirited” investigating or do some shopping, dining or gallery hopping in one of America's Dozen Distinctive Destination communities according the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
“One of the fun twists we've added is that those who take advantage of our Paranormal Pair Package can also, if they so desire, register in the drawing we are having for overnighting this Halloween night in The Crescent's ‘morgue,'” explained Moyer. “The morgue is where The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS) caught a full-bodied apparition on videotape when they were performing an investigation for their Sci-Fi Channel ‘Ghost Hunters' program several years ago.”
“ The morgue, a great place to dream on Halloween night, don't ya think?” Moyer concluded.
You may have heard about how you should avoid parabens in the products you buy, but you might be wondering why you should do so. After doing a bunch of research a couple of years ago, my wife and I decided to no longer purchase any products that have parabens in them. First, let’s look at where you might find parabens and what products they are normally in.
Parabens can be found in shampoos, commercial moisturizers, shaving gels, cleansing gels, personal lubricants, topical pharmaceuticals and toothpaste. They are also used as food additives in some products. Basically, a huge percentage of the products you buy for everyday use contain some form of paraben, so it can be difficult to find products that do not use them.
Now, before anyone says anything, I know that there have been studies on both sides of the argument…parabens are bad and parabens are ok. But since there have been studies that say that it is not healthy, we have chosen to take the precautionary route and not use products containing them. Whether or not they are as bad as some say they are, I would rather err on the side of safety. Now, on to what parabens could be doing to your body.
For starters, Parabens can mimic the hormone estrogen, which is known to play a role in the development of breast cancers. Do you really want to take the chance that they might do so? I know my wife doesn’t. In the July 2002 issue of the Archives of Toxicology , Dr. S. Oishi of the Department of Toxicology, Tokyo Metropolitan Research Laboratory of Public Health reported that exposure of newborn male mammals to butylparaben “adversely affects the secretion of testosterone and the function of the male reproductive system.” If that is not enough to avoid a product that can easily be avoided, I don’t know what is! There are a lot of other reports available all over the internet, but most of them are all related to reproductive health in some way or another. Not really something to mess with, huh?
The jury is still out on how and why parabens might affect development and growth of both babies and adults. But we have decided to get rid of any products that have it and replace them with products that don’t. There is no harm being careful with this kind of stuff…remember, things that were deemed safe in the past then came back to bite us all when we were told that they actually caused all sorts of diseases. And when they are safe alternatives available, I would rather not take the chance that my children develop strange reproductive problems or that my wife gets breast cancer from using a product that was avoidable in the first place.
ALSO:
THE TRUTH ABOUT PARABENS
The National Organic Program prohibits chemical preservatives in products that are labeled "organic." So what are chemical preservatives such as methyl, propyl, butyl and ethyl parabens doing in personal care products labeled "organic?"
There are many delightful organic foods that contain no preservatives. Read the labels on your organic honey, maple syrup, vinegar, olive oil, sugar, raisins, peanut butter and wine. These foods are considered by the FDA to be "self-preserving" and contain no preservatives. This means that, because of certain inherent qualities, these foods are naturally stable and not overly susceptible to contamination from bacteria.
Organic herbal medicinal tinctures made from high quality organic herbs and organic grain alcohol are shelf-stable for around two to three years. True castile soap, liquid or bars, has an excellent shelf-life of up to eighteen months or longer and requires no preservatives. Wouldn´t you prefer body care products that are fresh (like the food you eat) rather than several years old?
A self-preserved 100% organic moisturizing body oil made from organic sunflower oil, organic cocoa butter, organic coconut oil, organic peppermint oil and organic spearmint oil can have a shelf-life of up to 18 months.
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in their report "Pharmaceuticals and Personal Care Products in the Environment: Agents of Subtle Change?" reported that the chemical preservatives called parabens—methyl, propyl, butyl and ethyl (alkyl-p-hydroxybenzoates)—displayed estrogenic activity in several tests. This means that these chemicals mimic your body´s own hormones and can have endocrine-disrupting action when they are rubbed into your body or washed down the drain into your drinking water. These disruptors interfere with your body´s endocrine system: your hypothalamus, your ovaries, your thyroid—virtually every system in your body. The EPA also stated that "continual introduction of these benzoates (parabens) into sewage treatment systems and directly to recreational waters from the skin leads to the question of risk to aquatic organisms." Scientists in Europe found other endocrine-disrupting body care chemicals in the bodies of fish that humans are eating, and in human breast milk.
Dr. Elizabeth Smith has written that "It is a known medical fact that estrogen stimulates breast cancer" and that "anything absorbed through the skin may be as high as 10 times the concentration of an oral dose." (Think about how nicotine and birth control/hormone patches work—the chemicals are absorbed through the skin!) She also reported that, in one study, a paraben was injected under the skin and was found to have an "estrogenic response on uterine tissues." Scientists observing these harmful effects on the uterus remarked that "it is suggested that the safety in use of these chemicals should be reassessed."
Endocrine disruptors are transported into the body, daily, via absorption through the skin and hair follicles when using personal care products. Now that we know that we absorb toxins through our skin, isn´t it important that body care products that claim to be organic should be as pure as the organic foods that we eat?

Whew, I have been working on my profile for hours now. LadyChordewa steered me in the right direction as to why my navigational box didn't slide. I thought I had done it the same was as before, but apparently I added the name of the titles in two places when really, it only needed one. I zigged instead of zagged.
Hmm, but my music stopped working. *sigh*
I messed around with the numbers awhile too with the box, made it a bit bigger. Added quite a few center codes on the pics, and changed the colors a tad in the CSS box. Whew.....it's nervewracking because I am no code expert. I can make my way through it a bit, obviously, and proud of myself for not fucking the whole thing up, but that's about it. hahaha....
Anyway, time for me to get off of here for awhile, eat some watermelon and watch The Reaping again on HBO. Danny makes fun of me because I watch certain movies over and over when they come on. Pet Semetary is one of them. Anaconda.....House on Haunted Hill. And now The Reaping. I do like the John Hughes movies too. ;) Classics. Watched 16 candles again the other night. Rocks!
I am still doing the vinegar thing. I have been shooting it straight from a glass the last few nights. *makes a puckered face* It makes my eyes water and my throat burn. Well, it's good for me, so I read and I have lost about a 1/2 to an inch in my waist. I don't know though....it's supposed to boost metabolism, but I don't know about that. It's also supposed to suppress appetite, but I am not sure about that either. I eat every few hours or so, and that seems to be about the same. Maybe not as much though. ?
Who the fuck knows though. I try out different things all the time. I don't go for fads though and that includes diets. I just eat the best I can, for the most part. Icees are my treat. ;) Occasionally other things, like Filet-O-Fish and fries. Oh that sounds really good. I am hungry and that Nectarine didn't really do it for me.
I keep reading about how raw, organic apple cider vinegar is good for you and has been used for thousands of years for a variety of things. I first heard about it from my parents talking about Great Uncle Carl that used to drink on it. Didn't hear about it again until I read how Fergie is drinking it because her workout coach told her about it. So, oh well, giving it a try. Had it in New Orleans with me too. :P
AND, it keeps you regular.

There is a pill form of apple cider vinegar. I worked at GNC a few years back. Many of the customers there swore by the stuff. Sounds like you are having positive results as well.
"Angelina Jolie to endorse a presidential candidate, world waits with bated breath, I eat a sandwich
First, the world waited to see the first photos of Angelina Jolie's newborn twins. Now, we wait to see who she'll endorse to be President of the United States. My God, how much power does this woman have? How do we know her breasts aren't intergalactic weapons of doom that will conquer us all? You don't see Hannity & Colmes tackling that issue. For the record, I volunteer myself to investigate. Wilshire & Washington reports:
"I have not decided on a candidate," Jolie says, "I am waiting to see the commitments they will make on issues like international justice, refugees and how to address the needs of children in crisis around the world."
Unlike many other celebrity endorsements, Jolie's carries the weight and influence of her extensive humanitarian work around the world, as the goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. Her statement was an indication that she would be open to choosing a candidate.
Yeah, all that stuff. But who is Angelina leaning towards? Turns out it's a toss-up:
In June, when Entertainment Weekly asked her whether she talked politics with Clint Eastwood, a longtime Republican, on the set of the upcoming movie, "The Changeling," she said, "Actually, we don't disagree as much as you'd think. I think people assume I'm a Democrat. But I'm registered independent and I'm still undecided. So I'm looking at McCain as well as Obama."
To put things into perspective: Angelina Jolie's father Jon Voight wrote an op-ed piece for the Washington Times essentially claiming Barack Obama would turn America into Louis Farrakhan Land and enslave the white race. So, for all you political junkies out there, look for Angelina to endorse whichever candidate has a firm stance on kicking your old man down the stairs when he forgets his pills. (Psst. Probably not McCain.)"

Disease of illegal immigration spreads to America's poor
Dear Friend,
It's all over the news these days: Exotic diseases are on the rise here in the U.S. And although nasty tropical ailments like dengue fever, brucellosis, and schistosomiasis are common in the wilds of Africa, Asia, and South America, they're becoming hot topics here in States as well.
Why? Well, illegal immigration, of course. But no one — especially the media — is willing to come out and tell this truth to the American public. No, that would be offensive to the criminals who stream across our border every day. These diseases from antiquity have no place in 21st century America, but thanks to the unsanitary practices of people from the Third World (liberals would call this part of their "culture"), they're thriving.
And you'll just love the politically correct euphemism for them: "neglected infections of poverty." If it didn't make me so spitting mad, I'd find it hilarious. The cold, hard truth of the matter is that these ailments thrive in conditions that arise from unsanitary living and poor dietary habits. And if that's offensive to you… well, sorry. It just happens to be the truth.
A list of 24 so-called "neglected infections of poverty" were recently listed in a Public Library of Science journal. Many on the list already pose a significant health issue in the U.S., affecting as many as 1 million people.
An L.A. Times article I read said that, in the Los Angeles area, the tapeworm infection cysticercosis (which originates with pork, and spreads in crowded, unsanitary conditions) accounts for 10 percent of all seizures that result in emergency room visits. It doesn't take a huge leap to figure that illegal immigrants in the LA area live in crowded and probably unsanitary conditions.
What drives me crazy is that the media is presenting these diseases as though they are diseases of the poor. That's only partially true.
The fact of the matter is that they are typical of the Third World poor, not the American poor.
Consider of the source of these diseases: brucellosis is a bacterial infection that comes from unsanitary dairy products. Recently, I wrote to you about the prevalance of "queso fresco" or "bathtub cheese" that's popular in the immigrant community. That's where this stuff comes from. Schistosomiasis comes from exposure to water that's contaminated with freshwater snails. It's common in South America. I ask you: How many poor folks in the inner cities of the U.S. have had exposure to water contaminated by freshwater snails!?
The media and the left are playing a dangerous game with the nation's public health with their touchy-feely misplaced compassion. Diseased criminals are streaming over our borders and burdening our already overburdened healthcare system with foreign maladies – and no one wants to do anything about it. No one wants to speak the truth or state the facts for fear of being called a racist or a xenophobe.
Sadly, I think we all better get used to having these diseases around. After all, neither of this year's presidential candidates seem particularly concerned with the problem of illegal immigration beyond the usual pandering. The wrong-headed political lightweight Obama even suggested that Americans should be worried less about people who can't speak English, and more about Americans who can't speak Spanish!
It's time to wake up to the realities of the true dangers of illegal immigration — before it's too late.

That was too funny.
A handful of 7 year old children were asked 'what do you think of beer.'
Some interesting responses, but the last one is especially touching............
7 year old Tim-
'I think beer must be good. My dad says the more beer he drinks the prettier my mom gets.'
7 year old Mellanie -
'Beer makes my dad sleepy and we get to watch what we want on television when he is asleep,
so beer is nice.'
7 year old Grady -
'My Mom and Dad both like beer. My Mom gets funny when she drinks it and takes her top
off at parties, but Dad doesn't think this is very funny.'
7 year old Toby -
'My Mom and Dad talk funny when they drink beer and the more they drink the more they
give kisses to each other, which is a good thing.'
7 year old Sarah -
'My Dad gets funny on beer. He is funny. He also wets his pants sometimes, so he shouldn't
have too much.'
7 year old Lilly -
'My Dad loves beer. The more he drinks, the better he dances. One time he danced right
into the pool.'
7 year old Ethan -
'I don't like beer very much. Every time Dad drinks it, he burns the sausages on the barbeque
and they taste disgusting.'
7 year old Shirley -
'I give Dad's beer to the Dog and he goes to sleep.'
7 year old Jack -
'My Mom drinks beer and she says silly things and picks on my father. Whenever she drinks
beer she yells at Dad and tells him to go bury his bone down the street again, but,
that doesn't make any sense.'
Some things I wonder about while reading and rating profiles...
1. Why do they say they are gay or bi-sexual? I don't announce what my sexual preferences are, nor do I care to read about others until I know them better. "Hi, I'm Jamie and I dig anal. I am bI-sExuAl and ask if you want to know anything else about me.". Ugh......Your sexual preference really doesn't tell me who you are, except that I can tell you are mouthy and an in your face type of person that whines a lot. I HAVE learned that.
2. Why do they say to ask them if we want to know anything about them? I am not a reporter doing an interview. I won't be writing to ask about them. Gawd. It's a profile. Write about yourself and your life, whatnot.
3. Writing how you hate everything. Why even write anything then?
4. Saying you will kick my ass. Why? How? What's the point?
I will say one thing though, for those profiles. They get a 1 from me and that makes rating go by so much faster than those with actual substance, requiring extensive reading.

I know I put in my about me section that I'm gay. Otherwise I get messages asking if I'm gay. lol
Ditto! ;)
Yeah but Marv, you don't put "I'm gay, deal with it and if you don't like it fuck off" which is what's annoying. Especially when accompanied by the 'want to know anything else just ask', as Jamie mentioned :-)
I can understand if you add different sections, in a well put together profile, and that being part of it. Although, I still wonder why? *shrugs shoulders*
Many write it in the first or second sentence, with little else to read into the person....other than how they like to have sex (pole or labia).
its a lot like why do people feel the need to tell you there faith?.....must be rooted in pride.
So perhaps we should have a "straight pride" parade? hahaha...........:P
Is there a "straight pride" flag?
nah, by the looks of society today it wouldnt have a very big turn out lol

Paget is author of The Great Lover Playbook and other sex manuals, and she gives seminars nationwide.
Sex Mistake No.1: You Know What She Wants
Men often make assumptions about what a woman wants based upon what they've done with other women. But women aren't all the same.
"You develop a repertoire as you mature sexually, but you should never assume that what worked for the last person is going to work for this person," Taormino says.
That applies not only to sexual predilections, but also to relationships, she says. "There are women who can have no-strings-attached sex, and women who can get attached very easily, and then everyone in between."
Sex Mistake No. 2: You Have All She Needs
Some women can't have an orgasm with less than 3,000 rpm. No human tongue or fingers can generate that kind of vibration. But men typically think something is wrong if a woman needs a vibrator.
"If the only way that a woman can achieve orgasm is with a vibrator, she's not broken," Taormino says.
Think of a vibrator as your assistant, not your substitute. Many couples use vibrators together. "While you're doing one thing, or two things, the vibrator can be doing something else," Taormino says.
Sex Mistake No. 3: Sex Feels the Same for Men and Women
Paget says there tends to be a "huge disconnect" between men and women in the ways that sex feels good.
"When a man has intercourse with a woman, and his penis goes into her body, that sensation is so off the charts for most men, they cannot imagine that it isn't feeling the same way for her," Paget says. "It couldn't be further from the truth."
The inside of the vagina is probably less sensitive than the outer parts for most women. Also, deep thrusting may not feel so nice on the receiving end. If the penis is too long, "it feels like you're getting punched in the stomach," Paget says. "It makes you feel nauseous."
Sex Mistake No. 4: You Know Your Way Around a Woman's Anatomy
Most guys know generally what a clitoris is and where to find it. That's not to say that they really understand it.
More than 30 years ago, at the start of the "sexual revolution," a best-selling book called the Joy of Sex got Americans hip to the orgasmic importance of the clitoris. But the belief that women must be able to orgasm from vaginal penetration stubbornly persists.
"I still get letters from people who say things like, my wife can't [orgasm] from intercourse unless she has clitoral stimulation -- please help," Taormino says. "I want to write back and say, 'OK, what's the problem?'"
"For the majority of women, it's not going to happen that way," Paget says.
Men also lack information about how to touch it and how sensitive it is, Taormino says.
A touch that's bliss for one woman may feel like nothing special, or may even be painful for someone else. Some prefer indirect stimulation.
How can you find out how she likes to be touched? Try asking her.
Sex Mistake No. 5: Wet = Turned On
Guys sometimes get hung up if a woman doesn't get slippery enough for easy penetration. Don't worry about it.
"I think there's a myth that if you're turned on, you're wet," Taormino says. Not necessarily.
Some women tend to get wetter than others, and how much natural lubrication a woman has can change from day to day. It varies by the phase of her menstrual cycle, and it's subject to influences like stress and medications.
Sex Mistake No. 6: Silence Is Golden
A lot of guys think they should be silent during sex, but unless you speak up, your partner has to guess what's doing it for you and what isn't.
If you're respectful about it, a woman who wants to please you will probably appreciate some directions.
"I'm not saying push her head in your lap," Taormino says. "I think that, 'this is how I like it,' is a very useful conversation to have."
COMMENTS
Haha these types of articles are always a mystery to me.
Couples don't talk about this stuff in the open? Really?!?
If you aren't comfortable enough with your partner to talk about what you like and what you need then you probably missed a step in there somewhere. So, you deserve some bad awkward sex in my opinion haha. At least at first.
I think its good to be open with the person you are with. If you can't be open about intimate moments then why are you together in the first place?
Its very ironic that sex education in public schools is mostly about not getting diseases, contraception, giving birth and such. Yet, not much is really talked about when it comes to communication.
Wait, did I miss something? Nope, thats what sex ed was for me. Herpes and a video of a woman giving birth. Sad but true.
Talk people, TALK. Communication is a great thing ;).

A Message from Akashic Records: August, 2008 PT.1
Wed Aug 6, 2008 4:47 am (PDT)
Channeled by Jen Eramith, MA
What energy and experiences can we expect in August of 2008?
The energy of August 2008 is like a Supernova. It is a continuation of the rapid, heat-producing expansion that began in July. In fact, this expansion is something that is certainly not accomplished in a month or two. This expansion occurs over the course two to three years. The process began over one year ago, and you have been preparing for this supernova explosion of energy for between six and nine months. From November 2007 to March 2008, you experienced a period of intensification, like the packing of dynamite in order to prepare it for an explosion. Your lives and the energy around you became denser, in a way. Although all of you were moving toward the Light, things began to feel intense and crowded. You shifted into clarification and intensity in each of your individual lives and as a global collective. Spring, particularly in May and June, is the time when some space opened up for you to expand. Once that space opened up the true expansion, the
true energetic rush of personal and collective change, began. You have been feeling this energy through the month of July, much like a crackling vibration - a sense of possibility and a restless feeling that something big is about to occur. Some of the metaphors we have given you for the energy in July were like a rapid firing of an automatic rifle or the rapid popping of firecrackers. That was just the beginning of the true Supernova nature of the expansion that you are going through.
The month of August brings a more even tone to this energy, but far hotter expansion. We say heat not as a literal temperature change, but as a metaphor for what this expansion is like. As a fire produces heat through the breaking of bonds between atoms, a similar kind of burn has begun in the energy of planet Earth that guides and supports your lives. It began in July and will continue through the rest of the fall. August is the time when you reach the boiling point and begin a long, slow simmer. Depending on each of your individual choices, you will find that this sense of a slower burn carries you forward in your lives, especially if you are clear and honest with yourselves about your situation, your choices, and standing in your truth. If you are holding onto denial, deception, or old patterns, you will find that the expanding heat this month leads you to feel as if your engine is breaking down -- anything that is not working in your life will become
starkly evident in the months of September, October and November. We will discuss this in future months.
For now, the month of August gives you an opportunity for a slower, more consistent burn, but an intense and rapid expansion at the same time. It is an excellent opportunity to burn away any old habits that hold you back. This is a great time to stop smoking, or to begin volunteering in a cause you believe in. August is a time when you are likely to see a great deal of collective change -- you are likely to see more natural disasters that bring global attention to certain parts of the world. More particularly they bring more global attention to your interconnectedness as a human race and your interdependence with one another. You are likely to see this interdependence become more of a united front in regard to the way you burn your fossil fuels in what you are calling the energy or oil crisis. This includes the food crisis as well that is happening worldwide. You are likely to see this intensify.
You will find in August that you are more able to create a collective pursuit or a united front. August is a time when it will benefit you greatly to come together to take the bonds you have begun to build amongst yourselves through the spring and summer. Expand these loving connections into a sense of a larger collective community. For you, that may mean expanding yourself into a neighborhood, a city or even, for some of you, a sense of truly being part of a global society. It is vital that you begin to see yourselves in context. It is vital that you work to embrace the fact that your human existence is proof that you want to be here, that some part of your soul is deeply committed to the human form and the human collective; otherwise you would not be a human being at this time on Planet Earth. It is useful in August to embrace this idea and truly consider why you are here -- what parts of you are most deeply inspired by and connected to your fellow
human beings. This year, 2008, has been called the year of answering your calling. It is the year to find your purpose in being here and to answer that call. August is the time to look around at the human collective and your place in it, and consider making a much deeper commitment on a personal level to the human family in whatever way makes sense for you.
____________ _________ _________ _________ _________ _________ _
Can you tell us more about exactly how our personal lives will be affected by the energy of August, 2008?
____________ _________ _________ _________ _________ _________ _
Yes, in your personal lives you are likely to see things get bigger. When you make a mistake it will feel bigger, when you do something kind for another person it will have a much greater effect. In general, everything is amplified in August. It is the nature of this Supernova energy to shed light on things and create heat. Heat is simply a generation of energy. It will be useful for you to try to stay calm, cool, and collected as things seem to get big. That being said, the energy of August is not necessarily chaotic, so while events, emotions, and experiences seem to get bigger, there is really no need to panic or to drastically change your personal choices or the direction in which you are going. In fact, for the most part, if you have found a course or a direction that works well or feels right to you, it will be important and useful to stay that course in August, even when that course seems to have a greater effect than you expected. Stay the course
of what feels most true, most clear, and most empowering in your lives. You will adjust to this larger energy over time if you will remain true to your highest sense of yourselves.
Similarly, you can use this amplification to see more deeply into the dynamics in your lives. If there is a relationship you are unsure about, watch in August for very clear evidence on which direction to take. Because everything will be amplified, it will be far easier to see what is really happening beneath the surface. In that way there is a continuation of what we have told you in the two prior months, which is that it is far more difficult for deception to occur on Planet Earth at this time. It will be more difficult for you to carry on denial or deception in any way. It will be far more difficult for any organization or institution to deceive individual human beings. You are likely to see individuals becoming disillusioned or disenchanted with endeavors they had previously become accustomed to or committed themselves to. You will see people, particularly world leaders, change their minds or take a new course in August. Anything that does not serve
the highest benefit of the human race becomes more obviously apparent and more undeniable. It has taken a great deal of human suffering to bring these misconceptions or illusions to the surface, so it may look like the world in somewhat battered at this point in time. It will continue to be important that you keep your hearts wide open and strive to be kind, tender and gentle with yourselves and others during the month of August 2008.
____________ _________ _________ _________ _________ ______
Are there any power days or days of importance during August 2008?
____________ _________ _________ _________ _________ ______
August 10 and 11 provide a cooling period. It will be a time when truth will come into a more clear focus, but will be easier to work with or deal with any process that has occurred before August 10 and 11 that has brought up emotions. Another use of the metaphor of heat is to say emotional resonance, rage or passionate responses to events. Take these days to cool down and look at things outside your feelings with a more objective point of view. These are good days to get your feet on the ground and cool your head.
August 12 is a day of softening. It is a day you may feel there is a fog; it is not easy to push through to clarity. Have patience with yourselves on this day. You may not easily find clarity on August 12 and it will feel distinctly different from the energy on the 10th and the 11th. Have patience. August 12 is a good day to be particularly tender with yourselves. It is a good day to do things that comfort you and bring you to a greater sense of physical health and well-being.
August 13 is a day in which new possibilities open up for you individually. Pay close attention to the things that interest you on August 13. You will find new resources to help you move toward them on this day.
August 17 is a day of power. It is a day when it will be important for you to stand in your power, whatever that means, in your personal lives. To stand up for your truth, to remain true to yourselves, to say no to any person, event or force in your lives that would do you harm.
August 24 is a similar day of power; it has a softness to it, but it will be equally important on August 24 to stand in your power, consider what is most important to you and move toward that. Do not allow yourselves to be distracted by those things that are not important to you or that are not priorities in your life. Be well aware of what you wish to focus on in the bigger picture of your lives on August 24. Do your best to stay focused on those things.

What kind of hurricane season can we expect this year? What is the meaning and message of hurricanes in the United States?
____________ _________ _________ _________ _________ _________ _
You will have an active hurricane season this year. At this time, as this message is channeled, the potentials for what that activity will look like have not been fully established. It is clear you will have significant hurricane activity; more than the average hurricane season. There are two primary directions this might take. Either you will see an unending series of small but significant hurricanes or you will see a period of intense quiet preceding a smaller, shorter series of far more intense hurricanes -- perhaps at the same level as hurricane Katrina. These potentials are not yet developed because humanity as a collective and planet Earth are continually renegotiating what will be of greatest service for you.
The meaning and message of hurricanes in the United States, as well as what you call typhoons or cyclones in other parts of the world, originates in a profound partnership with the collective will of humanity and Earth. Hurricanes are very deeply tied with the Enlightenment process of human beings and the planet. Hurricanes and cyclones stir the pot so to speak. Do you know this phrase, "Don't stir the pot"? We want to explain what this means. Often in a social setting where there is denial or illusion that has not been expressed or dealt with by the people involved, one person will come along and "stir the pot," meaning they will come along and say what has gone unsaid or create small but significant changes that begin to expose and unravel those repressed or ignored dynamics that were below the surface. It can look like this person has created trouble, but trouble cannot be created unless there was something out of alignment already in existence --
unless there was something in the pot to be stirred. When you are completely in alignment with your highest truth, nothing can stir you - nothing can upset or overpower you.
Hurricanes often provide a similar role. They are like the joker or coyote archetype in that they create destruction specifically for the purpose of bringing to light that which no longer serves you. Physically, they stir the air and the water into a frenzy. Similarly they stir up energy that has been too long held and too long ignored. A hurricane often brings to light that which has been buried below the surface. If you personally have been involved in a hurricane or cyclone, you can look to your personal history to see how those things that were holding you back, that were unexamined or unacknowledged before the hurricane, often became apparent and renegotiated after the storm. A hurricane tends to bring to light that which was buried. Often it will occur in your personal lives, as well as for you collectively, at a time when you are ready to bring to light a new level of withheld or repressed information or a dynamic that limits you as a collective.
In that way, you can think of hurricanes and cyclones as an intense, uncompromising spring cleaning.
At their best, these storms give you an opportunity for renewal; at their worst, they destroy everything and leave you little resource for rebuilding. But they always clear away what no longer serves you. They represent the force of destruction particularly for the purpose of renewal. You can see this in the United States with the example of Hurricane Katrina, which has come to represent a profound disillusionment with your government and social systems. It brought to light the existence of racism in a post Civil Rights Movement era, and the tragedy of class-ism in your world; it helped you to see what has yet to be healed by all of you collectively.
Hurricanes, cyclones, and typhoons do not occur as punishment for your behaviors. They are neutral occurrences that offer an experience for those who would be best served by them. All of you benefit when previously hidden information becomes available, even when that information is initially difficult for you to see. When it benefits all of humanity to see something, a storm will make itself big enough for you to pay attention. Storms arrive in particular areas based on the agreements of those who experience them, and each of you arranges to be just where you need to be when a storm arrives. Do not imagine that your soul has abandoned you when you dislike an experience, for each of you is led by Divine Love to be precisely where you will be best served in every moment of your lives. You are never alone, and you are never out of Love. Knowing this is the beginning of taking such full accountability for your lives that you move into Enlightenment. Any
denial of your experience is denial of your truest self.
You can expect that hurricanes will continue to bring to light that which needs to be seen in order for all of you to progress through Enlightenment. In that regard, the potential for hurricanes is that you can accomplish the disillusionment and renewal necessary for this year on Planet Earth through a long slow series of small hurricanes with minimal destruction. If you continue to stand in denial as a collective global culture in regard to the ways that individuals cede their personal power to governments and institutions, then the potential for a massive, more destructive hurricane builds in order to create a further experience in which your collective denial is more obviously destroyed. Through this, your collective empowerment is brought to light and enabled.

What is the most useful way for Lightworkers to engage the U.S. presidential campaigning in August of 2008?
____________ _________ _________ _________ _________ _________ _
You will see the heat and expansion we have described in U.S. presidential politics during the month of August 2008. It will be what you might call a hotly-contested race. You will see violent words and perhaps even physical violence in regard to the upcoming election. For Lightworkers, it will be vitally important that you stay calm and resist the urge to foster a mentality that pits people against one another. It will be vital for each of you, on an individual basis, to carefully ride the balance between staying engaged enough to bring a cool head to the process without becoming so engaged that you lose track of the fact that all people are good. Particularly, resist the urge to lose track of your commitment to living outside of duality. During the month of August 2008, it will be incredibly tempting for you to use language and develop a perspective in which some people are good and some people are bad, or that some ideas are good and some ideas are
bad. The fact is, every person involved and every idea that arises is simply what it is - a person or an idea.
Much of the heat generated in August will be generated through people's personal resistance to what is. People try hard to believe that some people are bad or that some people are better than others, and this creates a great deal of energetic friction and vibrational static. It makes it difficult for you collectively to come to clarity. For Lightworkers, try to remain cool-headed and open-hearted. Even if you feel more attuned to some ideas and choose one side over another, resist the urge to think of anyone who disagrees with you as being inferior or bad. It would be particularly useful for Lightworkers every day, to develop the practice of actively rejecting the labels of good or bad. Do your best to engage in the process, talk to people about what you believe, what is important to you and then to listen and respect the words, ideas, and beliefs of others. This is all part of a greater process. The U.S. presidential election of 2008 is operating very
much like a hurricane. It is stirring the pot and bringing to light things in your culture, economy, religions and racial dynamics that no longer serve you. It is bringing to light that which remains to be healed. It is important that you not be swept up in what remains, but keep your eye on how to heal it. Keep your eye on the bigger picture. The campaign activities in August will be unnerving for some and you will have the ability to create an enormous healing force through your commitment to staying cool, calm, collected, open-hearted, tender and gentle.

Imagesinwords has a wonderful journal entry about the Rave event in New Orleans. It surely does capture the spirit of our meeting each other. I didn't think it was possible. She was very sweet in her words and I love her. I fell in love with those people. They are fun and silly and endearing. I really liked that.
imagesinwordsjournal
She was right about how people aren't always different on the other end of the keyboard, and I have always said that as well. There are real people at the other end of that pc. This trip proved it. And while I didn't get to spend day-time with everyone, I did get to hang with them at night.
As we were leaving New Orleans, we stopped to give an apparent homeless man with a sign some money. Danny gave him a $5 and then gave him the other $5 he had. The guy said something like, "Hell yea, you ARE the MAN!", or "Fuck yea, you ARE the MAN!". It was great.
On the way to NO, we somehow got on the subject of my Mom. My brother said some things that were negative about her, yet again, and implied things. We are not sure what he was going on about, and I don't care to go into it, or think on it. It pissed me off and hurt us all. Because Mom was a wonderful and beautiful person.
I knew her best. And I know I was her favorite. It's not spoken aloud, but I know. Well, Dad actually admitted it one night while talking. I was shocked he did.
Why was I her favorite? Because I was there for her my whole life, from about 12 til she left me/this world. I listened to her, I talked to her. I laughed with her, cried with her. Bought her things, pampered her. I was her cheerleader, her therapist. I doted on her, gave in to her. We played and laughed. We were naughty together, and saved the world together in our conversations. Picked apart celebs and laughed at ourselves.
And now I have to confront my brother and might as well tell the other while I am at it, and my dad the same. I have thought a lot about it and how to approach a manic depressive/bi-polar on this. My other brother is a sensitive alcoholic, so not sure on that one either. Dad, well he does not do well with emotions either.
So I sent this in IM to bi-polar brother. No reply yet.
"Jamie: So I have been reflecting upon the trip, about different stages of it, and stumbled on the part where we were on our way to NO and talk of Mom. I have decided that I cannot and will not hear any more negative comments about Mom any longer. She was my best friend and I can't have her image tarnished.
Jamie: I knew her heart better than anyone and she was a beautiful person."
I hope he doesn't get all defensive and start something over it. *sigh*
COMMENTS
To hear one of my brothers talking about my Ma you would think she was evil incarnate.
I listened to alot of things that were said when she passed away.
I did'nt always love her, in fact it was'nt until the last few years of her life when I understood she was just like everyone else...human.
Being bi-polar does not give a person licence to hurt your feelings.
I hope you are able to resolve this...good luck.

Thank you for posting these, I enjoyed viewing them.
These are awesome and somehow I didn't expect to see palm trees in the French Quarters.....guess that comes from living in Idaho lol.....
Christina Applegate has been diagnosed with breast cancer, according to her publicist. E! Online reports:
"Benefiting from early detection through a doctor-ordered MRI, the cancer is not life threatening," publicist Ame Van Iden said. "Christina is following the recommended treatment of her doctors and will have a full recovery. No further statement will be issued at this time."
Applegate's rep also tells E! News that the 36-year-old Emmy nominee will maintain her regular shooting schedule on Samantha Who? while undergoing treatment.
Christina's mother, actress Nancy Priddy, is a breast cancer survivor. The Superficial hopes for a similar outcome and wishes Christina a full and speedy recovery.
Loading the first 200 pictures up on a few sites, to see which will finish first....which actually, probably slows my whole pc down. Dur.....it's moving soooo slowly!
I did a lot of hugging this past weekend, meeting up with everyone at the Rave event. I have been thinking about it. I hope I didn't freak anyone out. I just went with my feelings on it, and left myself open and vulnerable. I was recieved well for the most part, so that was cool. There were a few that I knew felt a bit reserved about hugs, but I did it anyway, 'cause I have the love flowin' baby! =)
It's funny, but I could feel different energies with different people at the event. Some were warm, and only one was scary to me. Some people were shy feeling, some were so warm and down to earth, some were more reserved and stayed off to the side. I was all over taking pictures and talking to the approachable energies.
Wow, we got in and out just in time, from New Orleans. The tropical storm is hitting there, and about to turn to hurricane. As of right now, 2 parishes have evacuated...probably where we just drove.
There are still some Rave people there. I hope they can get out of there and hope everyone is ok.
COMMENTS
Glad you made it home safe and I hope everybody else will be safe also.
Everything is fine here...just a smidge of wind.
Ok, well we got back from the Rave meet up gig a few hours ago.
I have tons of pictures to share, but have to load them and I was going to make a slideshow of them if it would let me load that many!
I am still reflecting on the trip and meeting everyone. It was really great meeting them and it was completely surreal. At first it was hard being so far from home, and I was completely filled with anxiety from all sorts of reasons. But I got more sleep, met everyone, went shopping and it was better.
Loved the cemeteries.
More later.
We coined the phrase, as we were saying our goodbyes, "See you on the V.".

I think the enttire world is sitting waiting with baited breath .. I hope all will be just fine and the hurricane will not leave damage and flooding like last time.
