Candle Magic has been around for many, many years, being traced as far back as the Paleolithic era. It is a very powerful form of sympathetic magic.



You have to believe if the power of the candle if it is to work for you. Candle magic is usually part of a ritual but can be part of meditation or other exercises - (see below)



There are many factors that play into the art of candle magic. Any type of magic that is performed is supposed to return to you three fold, whether it be positive or negative. Always keep the Wiccan Rede 'An harm to none do what thou wilt' in mind when considering your work. Always keep in mind that magic effect's the entire world around you. Be very careful what you ask for, for it may well come true. The wording in any type of magic must not be taken lightly, be very careful, concise , and precise, make sure you have covered all possible bases.



Some candle magic has to be repeated over a period of days. Therefore, you will want to place them in an area that will not be disturbed. Do not choose a place where there is a TV, radio noise or disturbances of any kind. Keep in mind to not put candles near curtains and such, as you would not want to burn your house down. Candle magic should always be performed in a low traffic area. That is why a bedroom is really nice for such work.



Your Altar:

You may use anything that has a flat top. Be creative. Cover the altar if you prefer. Although some magic specifies a color then what ever color is specified should be used. Again, be creative. Keep in mind that candle magic is usually done in condensed areas so keep things as simplistic as you can, especially your candlesticks and crystals.



Incense:

Incense is part of the process. The type / types that you use may be specified in a specific spell, if that is the case by all means use that. Research on incense fragrances and their effects is need here. Incense symbolizes Air - as the smoke rises our thoughts are carried up into the universe.



Preparing of the Practitioner:

Light a few candles, turn off the light and relax. Clear your mind.



Types of candles:

Any type of candle can be used for candle magic as long as it has been cleansed and consecrated prior to use. Although beeswax candles are higher in price than store bought candles, they are more powerful because they are produced from nature. As with any other tool, the candle made by the practitioner for a specific purpose captures the energy of the practitioner. Many experienced Witches will use only candles they have crafted themselves because of this.



Cleansing & Consecrating:

This is a very important step and should not be omitted. Cleansing removes all the negative energies that the candle has picked up along the way. As with all supplies you want your candles to be as free of psychic debris as possible. Submerge the candle in sea salt and ask for cleansing.





Dressing Candles:



Naturally candles have polarities. Everything in our program has positive and negative polarities - as it is an electro magnetically based program.



Dressing a candle is no more than putting your vibration, thoughts and outcome you want into the candles vibration force. [This works the same way with crystals and stones]. Dress the candle with oil. Use whatever oil you prefer or what a specific spell asks you to use. Rub oil on the candle in a downward motion from the top to the middle and then from the bottom to the middle.



To send something away - stroke the candle 7 times from the middle of the candle out to the ends. Always stroke the candle in one direction.



Dab the remaining oil from your fingers onto your third eye and on your breast bone [heart chakra]. Then state your intent or the purpose of the candle.



Now light the candle and let it burn down.

Keep the journal dated and timed. Also I highly suggest that you keep it ENTIRELY to yourself. Part of psionics deals with the deep areas of your private mind, and while its best for your own sake to keep it recorded it can be awkward to expose yourself to another on that level.







The Basics Definitions:

Learning from a Teacher:



A teacher can speed up the process of recognizing how to trigger certain abilities, and improving the control of them. But with patience, the abilities can be learned even without a teacher. Certainly, most practicing will happen without a teacher's supervision throughout the day.

The students are responsible for practicing, recognizing their own styles and feelings, and choosing which abilities to develop. The teacher may suggest certain abilities be improved before others are learned, because the basic skills generally need to come before the more complex ones.



Reasonable Expectations:



In general, there are things teachers can do to help a student learn. There are also things which teachers may get annoyed at being asked regularly.

a) Teacher provides information, answers questions, solves problems.



b) Teacher psychically observes student progress, points out strengths and weaknesses .



c) Teacher uses own aura and energy to assist student or psychically point the way.



d) Teacher shows consistent control of own abilities in the areas being taught .



e)Teacher and student respect each other's beliefs and communicate often.



f) Student practices regularly and sincerely.



g) Student has questions or goal for each practice session with teacher.



h) Teacher answers students' questions about own teaching history, skill levels, and specialties.

Choosing A System



To start with you must choose what is called a System. A system is a form of producing and manipulating psionic energy.



Sensory:



A simple practice of imagined a substance of one of the senses (light, sound, touch, or combination) to get the neurons firing properly to produce psionic energy.





Types of Sensory -



Visualization:

example Imagine your body made of glass, and filled with light. Whatever color and brightness of light represents energy to you. Then imagine this light flowing from your body down your arm and pooling in your hand.



Tactile:

example Imagine your body filled with a sensation. Whatever sensation represents energy to you(heat and tingliness are often used). Then imagine this sensation flowing from your body down your arm and settling in your hand.



Audio:

example Imagine your body filled with a sound. Whatever sound represents energy to you(many people use their favorite songs). Then imagine this sound traveling from your body down your arm and collecting in your hand.



Mixed Sensation:example Imagine your body is made of glass, filled with a fluid. Whatever fluid represents energy to you. Give the fluid a color and temperature and taste and thickness. Then imagine this fluid pouring from your body down your arm and pooling in your hand.





Conceptional:



A much harder, though very good system, involving less tangible then senses. Usually a type of thought or other mental activity.

Although these examples may seem a bit vague, they do work quite well for people. Most people will know if one of these systems will work well for them.



Types of Conceptional -



Primal:

example Imagine the center for all your primal-emotion and instinctive reactions in your body. Now focus all that primal being into your hand. Depending on the type of ability and effect you want, the exact primal-emotions focused will change some. example Focus on all the static and other “noise� in your mind. Collect all that static in to in place with in your body. Now focus all that static into your hand.



Natural reaction:

Perhaps the hardest of all of the Systems to explain and possibly to use. However most Psions do at some point reach the stage where they can do most of their abilities on this level. For an explanation, place your right hand on your head. Now that happen because you told your body to do so. Likewise simply think the thought that you want energy in your hand, and its there. This is usually a sign that the Psion has improved their ability to manipulate psionic energy and it simply happens after a period of using one of the other systems.

The Learning Process:



Any ability you learn will improve with use, and the only way to improve them is to use them. The amount of practice needed to learn a new skill depends on how intensely you study it, how well you focus on what you are doing, and how easily you get frustrated. If you focus well, you are enthusiastic and rested, and you understand the process, you may learn the skill in an hour.

I have worked with some people who learned immediately and others who spent months on the same skill. I was using telepathy regularly at age three, but it took me until age 16 to get control of other abilities. In the end, it didn't matter how long the skill took to learn, because the hardest part is getting the skill to work for the first time. After that, learning just takes practice.



There are a few steps to learning any psychic skill.

1. Make the skill happen at least once (this is the hardest part).



2. Learn how to turn the ability on and off purposely, and practice this.



3. Turn on the ability, and learn how to direct it through more practice.



4. Fine-tune your control until the ability works satisfactorily, by more practice.



Psychic skills happen when your mind is in a certain state, just like any other skill you have. For instance, when you want to walk across a room, your mind goes through certain actions to move your muscles and do it. When you do a psychic skill, your mind goes through certain actions to use that skill. Learning the skill means letting your mind go through the necessary steps and feelings, just like when you first learned to walk. It's certainly easier if you have a teacher to learn from, as an example of the mental patterns to use. It speeds up the first step, making the ability happen to begin with. It's not absolutely necessary, though, since the abilities are an instinctive part of being human. When given a chance, they will show up randomly throughout life, even if you don't recognize that they are. Reading about an ability and spending a lot of time thinking about it will help it occur noticeably, if you want to get it started quickly. After the ability is showing up occasionally in your life, practice recognizing how your mind and thoughts and emotions feel when the event happens. Learn what it feels like and how you think when doing it. Then, recreate that feeling and those thoughts on purpose, and it will help make the ability show up again. The faster you can recognize and fine-tune that feeling, the faster your abilities will improve. For those that are pure blood in nature these abilities can manifest in a way that can be unwanted, so it is important to work with some that can help you to gain control prior to them getting out of hand.

You will need:

7 pink candles

Fire of Love Oil:

3 drops of jasmine

2 drops of rose geranium

1 drop of orange

3 pinches of cayenne pepper

Attraction powder:

1 tspn dragon's blood powder

1 tspn allspice

1 tspn almond meal



On Friday night - the night of Venus, write a letter of passion in red pen on the parchment. (Write all the things you would like to do with your lover in a spicier relationship!)



Anoint the candle with some oil and light, standing it on the letter. Sprinkle powder around the base of the candle in a sunwise (anticlockwise) direction as you call your lover's name seven times and then blow 7 kisses to the candle and say:

This spell is best conducted naked, in absolute privacy. After a cleansing ritual and relaxing bath, perfume your body with Ylang Ylang oil. Choose a magic area in your bedroom, lay out a white cloth and position yourself in front of the mirror.



Cast a protective circle, light the candle and incense, focus on your sexual energy and chant:
