Christmas? Not good.
My mom's not doing well, and she's too far (in Arkansas with my youngest sis and her husband). The cute dog Biscuit ran off, thanks to my sister and/or my nephew's lack of keeping an eye on him. My sis claims to have put notices out for Biscuit, but I think she's lying. I can only hope that the dog is okay, as I don't generally think people in general are well-disposed towards animal life in general.
My mom is heart-broken, which doesn't bode well with her dementia.
The only things keeping me partially sane are reading and writing.
Last week of school this week, followed by almost a month off. Even though I won't be bringing in any money during the break (ugh), I will love being off, as I can work on finishing my second book (a novella), to go with the first book (a full length novel). But shit - it takes almost as much time to edit the stuff as it does to write...lol!
Anyway, I plan on doing a lot of reading and writing during the break.
Maybe I'll hang out here too.
And now - on to something totally unrelated, but on my mind: Why can't I buy a live version of Lynyrd Skynyrd's 'Free Bird', without having to buy a whole album?
So - the week before the Thanksgiving week, my sis, one of her sons, and my mom drove up for a visit, and to help me move stuff from one storage facility to one closer to where I am now.
I really appreciated the help, as I can no longer haul heavy stuff like I use to. My sis paid for the U-Haul truck and the first month's payment of the storage unit, which was very much appreciated. (The total cost of everything was under $200.00).
Anyway - I was happy to see them...especially my mom...who came with a lil' Chihuahua-beagle looking dog! I know that my mom's mind is changing, as a few years ago, she wouldn't want a pet. My God, she is crazy about the lil' guy - we all decided to name him Biscuit. (My cats weren't too thrilled to have another critter in the apartment for 3 days - let alone other people...lol. Crunch was cool about Biscuit though).
Biscuit was found on the streets- he was recently adopted, and ran away from his new home. The previous owners didn't seem to care about getting him back, and my mom had a hissy fit over keeping the dog, ie she had a kung-fu grip on him - so it was agreed that my mom could keep the dog.
Hell - I even fell in love with the lil guy:
You ever feel like grabbin' a bitch by the throat and just beating the shit outta' her?
That's how I feel about a fellow cashier.
After that emotion-charged meeting we had over a month ago, this bitch is still trying to stir up shit. (She's usually grinning in your face, only to go behind your back with some made-up and/or petty complaint, which is kinda' funny for me, as the bosses know I work the hardest)...
In a nutshell, she's been called aside a few times since, and isn't happy with getting busted about what she's doing - or not doing - at work. (She's on her phone and/or chatting with folks more than anything else)...
Anyway, since her ass is being held over the fire, she's been making bogus complaints about the rest of us. I had a talk with Boss #1 on Wednesday, when he asked for my feedback on shit. I told him, and in a nutshell, suggested to him that instead of listening to various bitching and moaning, go somewhere in the center where he couldn't be seen, to watch what goes on, on a daily basis. (My exact words).
Anyway...the dumb back-stabbing bitch left a bag of money in our counting room yesterday. I showed both bosses...I wonder how's she gonna' spin that...
Fuck...I want some Yoplait peach yogurt now.
