A little girl at work noticed my tongue ring (at the time a red ball with a black star) and pointedly avoided me. We are usually buddies so I thought it was strange. I asked her what was the matter and she told me I had a lady bug in my mouth. Later I was hovering over a baby in a swing because she had 5 preschoolers who wanted to have a fight over who was taking care of the her and the same little girl asked me about my tongue ring. She wanted to know why or how I got and ear ring on my tongue. I looked at her very seriously and told her that it was why the lady who pierces ears tells you to sit very still. Then I noticed I had the full and undivided attention of five bug eyed little girls!
