Dark predator’s gaze,
A caress on my neck,
Hypnotic tricks and shadow plays,
Common sense lacks effect.
Scurry through the dark,
Search for safety in the night,
Shallow breathing echoes through the park,
Palpitating, throat choking fright.
Slayer a whisper on the wind,
Sword slicing silk,
Teeth slide through skin,
Life’s blood, unholy mother’s milk.
Waiting for the end,
Never expecting,
The rules of life to bend,
Consumed with thirst never resting.

The Turning
An intake of breath,
A sigh of peace,
Twin points of pain,
Radiate unholy release.
Mortal pain subsides,
Blood and tears no longer hide,
Life slips away,
Desire fills the host.
The brightness beckons,
The body fails,
Fear has gone,
Serenity prevails.
Reach for the warmth,
Then taste the salt, the copper,
Flash fire consumes,
Hunger and thirst overcome a moral stopper.
The light has gone,
Blood red darkness has dawn,
Unnatural beauty and strength,
The awakened lover drinks on.
