This ritual requires a Priest, Priestess and Maiden.
Priest:
We call upon the goddess of perfect Love, who purifies the seas in which worlds are born, and brings to flood and ebb the rivers flowing beneath all manifest being. Behold now in her Image, crowned with the deepest glory of the sunset, robed in blue and green and silver. We call upon the Goddess who sets the stars in motion upon the endless mirror of night. Behold her now, Lady of the silver Wheel, crowned with silver and crystal, robed in deepest black. As Guardian of the Deepest Mysteries of Death and Birth she opens now the Way, and fills the Circle with her blessing, her power, and her unseen presence. Listen … listen for her heartbeat. Feel her warm and gentle breath as she enters the circle. Be still, and listen.
Priestess:
I raise my eyes, my head, my heart. I open my soul and call you, Great Mother of All!
Come, as you came before, to the priestess at the Well. Come, as you came before, to the priestess at the Flame. Come, as you came before, to the priestess at the Summit. Come, as you came before, to the priestess at the Mountain.
Come to me from your well at Kildare, your oracle fire at Delphi, your throne at the Roof of the World, your rose garden at Tepeyac. Descend and arise. My eyes, my ears, my tongue I offer you.
{pause}
I am the cup, the water of creation.
I am the candle, the fire of rebirth.
I am the sword, the wind of change
I am the cave, the womb of the Earth.
I am the void. I am the circle. I am all that is, all that has been, and all that shall be. I am eternity.
Maiden:
In the Maiden there is no hatred. In the Mother there is no fear. In the Crone there is no ignorance. Hail the bright Goddess! Hail the dark Goddess! Hail the Goddess of a hundred million names!
She is here.
1.) Locate all four quarters - North, East, South, West. That’s where a compass comes to help.
2.)Starting from the North, face each direction, make a bow and say: “I cast this circle in the name of love and light, may it guide me and protect me from unwanted spirits!” You can say anything else that feels alright and bears similar meaning.
3.) Now that you have repeated it four times, face the North again, point with your sceptre at the earth (not touching the surface), imagine yourself being the centre of your circle and cast the circle by turning deosil (clockwise) three times. You can point with a bare hand or any other attribute if you don’t use a sceptre.
4.)Feel how the energy rises from the imaginary circle line you have cast. Now you are safe to perform your Wicca spell or ceremony.
5.) When you have finished with your spell, you need to open the circle again. Leaving it closed means wasting the energy both yours and that of the Earth. For opening a cast circle, face the North again, thank the spirits for assisting you and turn widdershins (counter-clockwise) three times by pointing your sceptre or hand to the imaginary circle line.
