I consider the goal in life to be numb,

To take all you can without becoming dumb.



Overdosing is an unfortunate mistake,

Of those who are naïve,

Those who don't know how much to take.



Pill after pill,

Drug upon drug,

Shaky hands trying not to spill,

Dilated pupils searching for thrill.



But none ever come,

Only darkness,

Which you have become.



You still try and take what you can,

Try to feel like a normal human,

But all is for nothing,

As you already know,

And you slowly fade back into darkness,

To where all the bad thoughts go.
