This drama follows a bankrupt cosmetic company as they try to resurrect their business. How better to advertise their new cutting edge BB Cream than to have it worn by Miss Korea? How will they convince her to represent their product? They will make her of course!
Lee Sun Kyun(my Korean Mr. Right)is the head of the cosmetics company. Lee Yeon Hee was the high school beauty queen and his former sweetheart.
This song in the video is from one of my favorite soundtrack artists; Every Single Day.
I really struggled to find the right video representation for this series because I found it most lovable. It is a bit old air date June 2008 and it is not your typical romantic drama. In fact the love relationship most focused on is between brothers and the greatest love affair of all is with food.
It is a story of the a man trying to redeem his family honor after misappropriating the title of last Great Chef to the King of Korea. There is a lot of focus on the agricultural industry and the part it plays in bringing premium products to South Korean plates.
This series was an excellent mystery with a series of characters brought together by one event that is bigger than anyone can imagine. Spotlights on political corruption.
While the romance was a key element to the plot it was not the main focus of the series. The main focus being to find the murderer and bring him to justice before the statute of limitations runs out.
He is an excellent surgeon; top of his field and he will do any surgery privately...for a fee. How is patient is hurt or made sick is no concern of his. He only wants the money.
Before I say a word about this drama I first must speak about one of the things that appeals to me most about this series.
Obviously there is a rush that comes from different emotions being activated. Sometimes there are captivating stories and sometimes the humor is too good. Often without sinking to the lows of explicit sexual scenery purely for the reason of titillating the viewing audience. Without the need for gutter language; though potty humor is a different story. Everyone poops, farts and so on; sometimes at the worst times.
There isn't always a happy ending. Sometimes there is just an ending. Knowing that there is a possibility for the story to go in an unexpected direction can make some series all the better. We aren't talking about series that are 8 years old with plot-lines that have been repeated 16 times by different characters. It is one story at a time. With a beginning, a middle and an end. Sometimes the end is beautiful and sometimes it is tragic. Sometimes it is exactly as expected or hoped. Sometimes they take away the main love interest and give the main character a suitable substitute(shudders, hate those endings).
Anyway, this series(for anyone still reading)was short, cute and passionate. About two people who are passionate about food(so much foodgasm, he is after all a cooking God)and passionate about each other. It was so predictable to a fault right up to the moment they end up ripping each others clothing off and falling into bed(not needed for the story, it was absolute fluff).
This series started out cute and fun but became disappointing and repetitive in the ugliest way. I finished it because the episodes were 20 minutes long; why not.
