I almost did not watch this one because I thought it looked stupid.
Appearances can be deceiving. It was funny, cute, sad and dark.
A prince of the Joseon prince who wakes one morning to find his princess dead is magically transported 300 years into the future to find out what happened to her.
I hate reincarnated love interest endings! It is bad enough when the love of your life is gone forever but to have to settle for his reincarnation, it just feels wrong to me. Because it isn't the same person you fell in love with. It just feels sad.
This is the scene that made me decide to watch it.
Hong Do suffers from extreme social phobia. So extreme that she can only comfortably be outside while completely covered and wearing a motorcycle helmet. The only way she can interact comfortably with others is to cosplay as a granny. When highly stressed she blushes so badly that it looks like a rash.
This is the Korean version of a Taiwanese drama with the same title.
It was hilarious and adorable until it turned awful and tragic. Once it turned tragic it was heart wrenching and stressful. I was touched by the characters. This was the first drama in which I saw Choi Jin Hyuk. This man is handsome, deep voiced and masculine; he can also sing.
I need to watch every series and movie he has made.
Initially I had a feeling of not wanting to watch the original. Part of this was my stubbornly being stuck on Korean series. Lately after having spent 10 weeks watching, dreaming of, anticipating the next episode of Baron Chen's most recent drama; I feel that I should rethink my stubbornness and strive for more.
I like his acting and his flirt style is just too adorable!
I was talking about the Korean version before I got distracted.
I have watched it twice. The second time in my living room. My son actually watched it all the way through, often excusing himself for the most intensely emotional parts and loving the end as much as I did.
Actual need of a synopsis. Why? Because this series was serious, dark and also mysterious. The type of people who upload clips and OST fanvids apparently didn't care about this series...
but I did.
The rough draw synopsis is: this attorney, real high powered dirt bag, loses his memory in an accident and becomes a Robin Hood type. Sort of.
This series had so much! Intrigue, mystery, action, romance and surgery! One of the few series I have seen in which the second lead character gets the guy. That almost never happens.
It was a touching drama and so full of good actors that I have watched it over and over. The soundtrack was also very good.
I became enamored of Gong Hyo Jin; the lead actress. I began watching her dramas one by one as I found them. I still need to watch the ones from 2005 to 2001. I believe I can find them.
This was my first historical drama; with this, I am running out of firsts.
This was around the time that my interest in the dramas and music had reached a point of my seeking music to make a playlist, exploring artists and favoring PR pages on facebook(I was not yet using my twitter. It was old and dusty). I had favorited a Moon Geun Young fan page and saw the early PR about the series but was unable to follow the debut because of licensing. I only knew one site back then and it didn't have permission to air the series in the US.
I ran across this series while waiting for Goddess of Fire to air in the US. The opening scene tells a story of women's greed to outdo each other in status; particularly over such things as designer limited edition merchandise.
The fashion mogul is a psychologically damaged fellow with an ax to grind. The female lead is a determined hard working woman in a struggling relationship.
The story itself in the simplest terms is that of a young woman who is willing to break into the upper class by any means possible.
A story about an alien who comes to Earth on a field trip of sorts during the Joseon Dynasty and due to a mishap ends up stuck for 400 years. Finally his time to return home arrives and he meets a strange woman who seems to demand his attention.
This drama had everything. Love, death, intrigue, sadness, deeper sadness, humor, betrayal.
It also has a completely unexpected ending. I am a sucker for being drawn in by the unpredictable.
This series is meaningful to me as being the one that made me hungry for more. While I started Cinderella's Stepsister first; this is the drama that I finished first. On a decrepit laptop that loaded horribly.
I watched this series at a rate of 1 to 2 a day on the days that I was able to sit and only watch. Because I didn't understand any Korean at all. I finished watching early in 2013 and because I liked it so much I not only became a soundtrack junkie but continued to seek out more dramas and more music.
This series first came to my attention via Hulu when I was going through my Hulu phase. It looked interesting so I added it to my queue. It was probably a year after that I started watching it. Each episode is very long, add commercials it is even longer. Add Internet speed problems, interruptions and restarts I was lucky to watch an episode a week. I finally had to give it up. In 2013 I broke my leg and finally had time to sit and watch from beginning to end.
I need to rewatch it. It was very good.
I no longer Hulu but I have plenty of viewing venues now. I can take my pick.
The stereotype of Vampires, created by Hollywood and writers, made them a laughable matter. Vampires do not posses a soul and they don't have feelings and emotions. Vampires are creatures of the night...
lycanthropy is the transformation from human to a werewolf. So, the word Lycan is a short word for lycanthropy. Both are related to each other and technically, are the same.
