This film was a bit of a twisty turny one. Definitely different than other Thai horrors I have watched which tend to mix humor with the grotesque. This one had no humor and despite it's nature was not all that grotesque.
It did have the opportunity to be horrifying.
I was pulled into the story itself. A medical student beginning her term in Gross Anatomy and already nervous about the cadavers becomes haunted.
As the story unfolds the viewer comes to realize that the haunting is not random and there is actually a much darker situation than the haunting itself.
Thai spirits tend to be pretty nasty. Their mischievous nature usually defies the exorcisms which are supposed to bring them peace and they like to turn on their saviors.
Unless they are rom/com spirits; in that case they just leave a sad empty hole.
