This week has been, mmmm
not great.
Saturday started well. I am a really mundane person. I woke up Saturday, me and my husband went to the flea market. I bought a new frying pan, a video game, and $6 in home baked goodies from a Hungarian woman I buy from every time I see her.
And some eggs.
Anyway, my husband was complaining of back pain which is normal, he has depleting spinal fluid he is always in pain, but it got worse and worse as the day progressed. We went home and no sooner did we settle in but I got a text from my son.
His car broke down.
It is his only means of transportation and he lives in farmland. Literally, in the middle of someone's farm.
Ugh!
Sunday we got a tow but the back issue was getting worse.
My fella has not slept in the bed all week. It hurts to lay down. His regular pain meds didn't work, alternatives didn't work; he called off Monday and on Monday he called off till Wednesday.
Tuesday we went to the doctor(the VA). They did an X-ray, gave him drugs and sent him home.
Their drugs did not work. There is more to the story.
Basically the VA is treating him as hopeless. They tell him to accept the pain, they offer no potential solutions.
Today the pain is bad enough that he has gone to the VA hospital instead of the clinic. A two hour drive.
*edit, A two hour drive for nothing.
People think I am biased in my entertainment preferences. To a point it is probably true.
I have no idea what movies are being released these days. I don't know anything about new music here and every time the kids stream an American TV show that isn't strictly horror I end up asking them why they are watching porn during the day.
Last week (this is actually from a really old facebook post.) it was a show called Salem.
Story, porn, porn, porn, story story, porn porn porn, story, porn porn. It is pretty much what I saw and what wasn't porn I couldn't stomach because it was so bad.
I never went out of my way to avoid American entertainment, it just became...geographically undesirable. I had to go so far just to have it that in the end I came to see that it wasn't as attractive as I had once thought it was. It had become middle aged, overdone and a trifle slutty. It was also drinking too much and chasing younger men. I could not stay and continue to watch the decline.
Every time I catch myself becoming too nation or genre specific I try to branch out.
I did sit through a bit of Gotham while my husband used the computer or I was washing dishes. I thought it only fair because as my son sat through the BigBang Made concert, Gu Family Book, Fated to Love You, You are all Surrounded and several others.
It was ok but I wouldn't watch it on my own.
If the word zombie is in the title there is a better than average chance it will at least make it to my queue.
If everything is a social construct and all social constructs should be tossed out then everyone should quit their jobs, leave their possessions, remove their clothing, eliminate language and religion altogether and just live based on the impulses natural to their true nature.
No rules, no laws, no borders, no electricity.
Put down that fire! Fire is an oppressive tool of the Patriarchy!
Go! Be free!~ Nimble little idiots.
