I glared at my father as he slung his laptop bag over his shoulder and glanced at me, "You sure you don't wanna go to Starbucks with me? We can drink coffee and play some online games."



I shook my head, stubbornly staying a mute. I was still upset with dad for last night, and i was going to let him know it. I turned my gaze away from him, my emerald eyes landing on the blank TV screen. Dad's sigh softly whispered of regret in my ears, and then he was gone, only the lingering click of the door closing reminding me that he was ever here.



I sat there for a minute, still as mardle and probably just as cold, but then, finally i moved, forcing myself onto my feet and up to my room. There, laying sprawled across my bed was Liza. She glanced up as i entered and immidiatly a grin split across her features, "Is he gone?"



She had a glint in her eyes that told me i would regret this, but i nodded, "Yeah....He's gone."



Twenty minutes later i was standing in front of my mirror staring at the girl that was reflected back, "HOLY CR-"



"Thorn!"



I giggled, "I was going to say holy crud Liza, relax."



Liza smiled and gave me another look over. She had done mircales, and that was being gentle about it. For a date to the movies Liza sure knew what to do. She made me wear a pair of soft grey flats with bowties on the toe, plus a pair of loose jeans which were rather well worn. Add that to the white camisole and fitted dark red V neck tee, and you had a recipe for beauty.



But it wasn't only the outfit, she had done my make up to being out my eyes and she even curled my usually messy brown hair. I smiled and hugged her happily.



Liza giggled, "You are so going to blow him away."



As if on cue the bell rang, its echo reaching the ears of two teenage girls up in the farthest bedroom.



I smiled at Liza, "Come on." I grabbedh er wrist and ran, dashing downstairs and stopping at the front door. My hand reached forwards, grasping the cold doorknob and twisting it. The carved wooden door swung open to reveal Julian, dressed in baggy jeans and a dark blue t shirt.



He smirked and brushed a lock of his shaggy blonde hair from his eyes, looking me over before his pristine blue gaze landed on my face, "Nice outfit Thorn."



I rolled my eyes and turned to Liza, "You sure you can get back home ok?"



Liza smiled and nodded, "Yup posative, have fun, dont talk to strangers, and look both ways before crossing the street." And with those final words of wisdom i was shoved out the door.



Julian chuckled, "Shall we?" He motioned to the street.



I resisted the urge to giggle, instead smiling, "We shall."



And with that we were off, walking down the street.



Julian glanced at me and moved closer, slipping his hand into mine. I didn't pull away, just smiled and kept walking.



So far this date was going pretty well.



((Sorry if this chapter is kinda boring, i tried to add some humor in it. Next chapter will be so much better i swear!!! Anyways, so do you think Julian and Thorn will end up actually dating? or will this remain a doomed love like that of their ansectors? STAY TUNED TO FIND OUT!))

"YOU DID WHAT?!?!?!"



Dad's scream echoed through the whole house...actually scratch that, through the whole neighbor hood.



I stuck a finger in my ear, twisting to clear my ears of the ringing. "Geeze calm down dad."



Little chance of that happening, Dad was furious, if you looked closely, you could probably see steam flowing out of his ears. A vein was bulging on his forhead and his eyes were like pits of fire. "You are NOT allowed to date that boy Thorn."



I rolled my eyes and flopped back on the couch, waving my hand as if shooing a fly away, "It's not even a real relationship, im just helping him chase away his fan girls."



Still no sign of a cool down. I wondered of pouring water over his head would work, doubtful, and it was sad that i was even considering it. I glanced over at my father, my emerald gaze taking in his appearance.



When i had returned fro mthe party i had found dad sleeping in the recliner. Wearing nothing but boxers and a t shirt. I woke him up and explained what happened at the party...and now here we were, well here i was, listening to my dad rant about how Julien was my enemy and i shouldn't be helping him with anything.



I sighed and sat up, "Listen."



Dad glanced at me, clearly waiting for an explination. I took a deep breath and jumped right in, the words tumbling off my tounge like dominos, one right after the other, "Julian's and ok guy and he hasn't done anything to hurt me. Besides, why do we have to be enemies, Romeo and juliet weren't. Why can't we be more like them?"



Dad took that the wrong way, "YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO FALL IN LOVE WITH THAT BOY."



I smiled happily and stood up, "Great so i can help him so long as i dont fall for him. Thanks dad." I smiled and quickly kissed his cheek before dashing up to my room, preventing him from arguing with me.



Once in my room i flopped down on my bed and took out my phone, calling Liza, "Hey Liz."



"Thorn? OMG Hi! So did you tell your dad? Is he ok with it? What happened? Is everything ok? He didn't ground you or anything did he?"



I laughed at all her questions, "Its fine. He exploded at first." Insert eye roll here. "But its all cool now."



I held the phone away from my ear as a squeal crackled through the speaker, "OMG THATS AWSOMESAUCETASTIC!"



I giggled and brought the phone back to my ear, "Yup. So anyways you got plans for tomorrow?"



"No why?"



I grinned, "You're gunna help me prepare for Julians and my first date."



Insert teenage girl squeal here.



((Yup Thorn and Julian...going on a date....wonder whatll happen hm? OwO ))

"You're not going Thorn."



I sighed inwardly as i continued to apply my makeup, finishing with a light coating of mascara before checking out myself in my mirror. Knee high converse, jean shorts, a v neck grey top, and a dark blue lace blouse. The kind thats longer then your shorts and totally comfy. Yeah that. I raked a finger through my now straightened hair and turned to my dad. "I'm going."



Dad shook his head, stubornly blocking my exit. "No. Julian is there and i don't trust him."



My eyes narrowed, my voice taking on an icy tone, "You mean you don't trust me." I saw my dad flinch and i continued, "I'm a teenager Dad. I'm old enough to go to a party. Now move."



The seconds ticked by, stretching over the silence. Finally though, he gave in, moving away from the door, "Be careful..." I nodded and walked out, heading down the steps of the porch and into the night.



Walking down the street my thoughts wandered to the day. Arriving at our new summer home, going out for icecream, and somehow seeing Julian Capulet, my families worst enemy. That plus getting invited to a party. What a day.



As I continued on my path i heard the faint beating of music, increasing in volume till i was standing outside of a house, staring up at the door. This was it.



I summoned my courage and lightly knocked on the door. Immidiatly it swung open to reveal Liza, a grin on her face and a drink in hand. "Hey Thorn! Wow you look great! C'mon in and join the party!" I laughed as i was dragged inside.



The house was dim, but lights flashed as music blared from the surround sound. A true party. There seemed to be an endless amount of kids, dancing, making out, or just chatting.



I glanced at Liza and grinned, "This is an awsome party!"



"I know! But come on! I wanna introduce you to some of my friends!" She grabbed my wrist with her free hand and began weaving through the crowd, dragging me along. I laughed and followed willingly, taking in the sights. Finally we stopped in front of a group, consisting of three other teens. One girl and two guys. The girl bounced over, smiling happily. She was short, but she had an amazing figure and curly blonde hair with stormy grey eyes,



"Hiya! I'm Cassandra! Call me Cassie."



I smiled and shook her hand, "Thorn."



Cassie nodded and grabbed one of the boys, slinging and arm around his shoulder she brought him down to her level, knuckling his head. "And this is my annoying brother James."



I smiled and shook James hand, "Nice to meet you." He was average height, obviously a football player, with spikey blonde hair and the same storm grey eyes as Cassie.



I turned my attention to the last boy, feeling my stomach churn as his eyes locked on mine. "Thorn De Montague." His calm voice rippled like silk through the air.



I gulped and spoke, as calmly as i could, "Julian Capulet."



Liza glanced between me and him, "Wait...you guys know each other?"



I glanced at her, nodding slightly, "Yeah....."



Julian grinned, "Actually, Thorn here is helping me with a little project."



Everyones gaze, and my glare, landing on Julian. "What?" MY voice was clam, deadly calm.



Julian nodded and smirked, leaning in till i could feel his breath fanning across my face, "Yup. She's pretending to date me to get my fangirls away."



Liza squealed, "Wait...So you guys are technically dating?!"



Julian met my gaze, and i saw in there, in his bright blue eyes, a challenge.



Slowly i nodded, "Yeah....we're dating."



Just wait until my dad finds out....



((HAHAHA well well well what will this fake relationship turn into? *wiggles eyebrows* stay tuned to find out!))

Dad climbed into the car and pulled out, avoiding my gaze as he drove off, effectivly leaving Julian in the dust. I watched his figure grow smaller through the rear window till we turned a corner and he was out of sight completly. It was only then that i spoke, "Dad....What's wrong?"



Dad glanced at the rearview mirror and sighed, "You know the story Romeo and Juliet?" I nodded, of course i did, who didn't. Dad continued, "We're decendents of the DeMontagues. Julian is a decendent of the Capulets....despite Romeo and Juliets sacrifices....the two families are still at war with eachother....which means that Julian is our enemy."



I was floored. Julian was one of the most popular guys in school. He was tall, somewhat muscular, with a handsom face and shaggy, dirty blonde hair. Mix that with his bright blue eyes and you have a recipe for popularity. I was also popular, so everyone seemed to expect Julian and i to go out...but we never really knew eachother. So we never bothered. Now i knew why.....he was my families enemy, it was natural of me to avoid him.....



So why was it that, when our eyes met, i felt like my stomach was being tied in knots and i began to wonder what his lips would taste like. Surely that's not the emotions of enemies. More like lovers....but no, that was impossible.



I sighed and watched as Dad pulled up in front of an Ice Cream parlor. We both got out and walked inside, looking around. It was fifty's themed, but it wasn't to crowded. Just a few kids, some teens, and a handful of old people.



I walked up to the counter, "Umm i'll take a double scoop of cookies and cream please." My dad ordered the same thing and soon we were sitting down at a booth, licking at icecream, and playing thumbwar.



I noticed a girl looking over at me. She looked to be about my age, though she was probably taller, with tanned skin, black hair, and warm brown eyes. She smiled and waved at me. I glanced at Dad before i waved back.



I guess she took it as permission to walk over, because that's exactly what she did. She smiled warmly, "Hey, you new here?"



I nodded, "My dad and here are spending our summer vaycay here."



The girl smiled and held out her hand, "I'm Liza."



"Thorn." I shook her hand. It was warm, but delicate.



Liza smiled happily, "Well Thorn, how would you like to come to my house tonight? It's the one right across the street."



I tilted my head thoughtfully, flickering a glance towards Dad, "Who's gunna be there?"



Liza smiled and waved her hand towards the group of teenagers, "Just me and my friends."



I looked over. And lo and behold guess who i see. That's right. Julian Capulat.



{Second chapter. Sorry if the whole thing sucks. DX i haven't written in a while. So yeah, Thorn just got invited to a party, woohoo.}

I glared at my father through the mirror, "I hate you." It was simple as those two words. I was mad, beyond mad....i was completly enraged. It was my freshman summer and my father was dragging me away from all my friends, and to the center of the country. Welcome to Kansas.



My father glanced at me in the backseat, curled up, my knees pulled to my chest, my emerald green gaze focused on the feilds passing outside the window. Yes, feilds. Endless endless miles of feilds. I sighed as he spoke, repeating the same words he had been saying for the last to weeks, ever since i found out about this trip. "You know it's for the best. Some father daughter bonding."



I rolled my eyes, "Whatever, can we pull over? I feel like i need to retch." Sarcasm laced my voice and i heard my father chuckle under his breath. I had a feeling this would be a very very very long summer.



Half an hour later we stopped in front of our 'house'. Which was really just a log cabin Dad had rented. I sighed and climbed out of the car, brushing my long brown hair behind my ear and tugging my bags out of the car. I had packed light, two duffle bags and a backpack.



Dad grabbed his luggage and together we walked into the house. I had to admit my dad picked only the best. The living room that we had walked into was amazing. It had a river stone fireplace with a flat screen TV hanging over it, and nice soft couches with a stained glass coffee table in the center. Next to us was the kitchen, tucked away in a corner, but it had plenty of space. And on the other side of the living room was a library apparently. Upstair would be the bed rooms and the bathroom. It kinda made this whole trip a bit less worse....but only a bit.



I glanced at Dad and shrugged as if i weren't impressed before i headed upstairs, walking down the hallway and opening the door to my new room.



What i saw shocked me to the core. It was like a five star hotel suite. To my left was a small kitchen with a minifridge and in front of me was a living area. A giant, california kingsized bed with a high tech stereo system and a flat screen tv nereby. I could get use to this. I smiled and walked forwards, laying my bags down and sitting on the bed. Wow.



I glanced up as Dad knocked on the door. "Come in."



He stepped in, smiling knowingly. Despite my anger with him i smiled back, "Thanks Dad...." I trailed off and bit my lip.



Dad smiled and motioned with his head, "Come on, lets go buy some junk food." I grinned and happily jumped off the bed, racing my dad downstairs. We smiled at eachother and walked outside. That's when it happened....i saw him.



I stopped short, "Dad...isn't that Julian? Julian Capulet?"



My dad stopped short and his eyes narrowed, "Get in the car."



"But dad!"



"I said in, right now Thorn Sakura Montague."



My eyes widened and i climbed in. Dad hardly ever used my full name. I glanced out the window, and my gaze met Julians. I sighed and looked down, what could he be doing here.....how could my families worst enemy follow us to the center of the country....how?



{So there it is in a depressing nutshell. Thorn is a decendent of Romeo DeMontague. And Julian is a decendent of Juliet Capulet. Lets see how this unravels huh? Stay tuned for the next chapter! And critiques are welcomed.}
