“ILI” Alex banged on her door “Ili, please answer me… Please”, he sighed when he got no response. “GO AWAY” Ili yelled at him, her tear’s streaming uncontrollable now. “Ili, please just let me in so we can talk about this… look I know what he said hurt you, but you can’t just keep yourself locked up in your room for the rest of your life.” Alex heard a soft click on the other side of the door, then someone moving away from it. “You can come in” said a soft pain stricken voice. Alex carefully opened the door, closing it behind himself. “Ili will you talk to me, please” she shook her head and buried it on her hand’s, trying to stop the flow of tear’s from starting again, Alex came and sat behind her on her bed, he began rubbing her back. “I-I can’t believe he w-would do this to me” she hiccupped “I know Ili I know…but you still can’t stay locked away up here forever.” She took a deep breath and sighed turning to face him, her eye’s full of sorrow and regret. “but I can’t go back out there and face them like nothing happened, like he was just playing a joke on them all, they know now, they know everything, what am I supposed to do, they will eventually hang me for it, I cant hid it any longer, and if I try and leave, they will catch me, he will catch me.” Alex shook his head furiously, making his golden-brown hair fall from its pony-tail at the nape of his neck. “No, he wont, Syd will never be able to touch you… not as long as im around.” She sighed “but how can you be so sure about that, you’ve never seen him at his full extent... you remember that girl that was under our protection a couple summer’s back?” Alex nodded “Syd took her, right out from under our noses, we can’t stop him if he’s after a person, he will find a way around there guard” Alex seemed furious “he WILL not touch you. Not while I am around, of this I am positive” he all but shouted. “ Well what do you plan on doing, we cant leave to while he is still down there, he’d see” Alex laughed, “ we are simply going to go have a goodtime, he wont touch you if your with me” Ili dried her tear’s and stood up, fixing her dress. “Okay Alex if you say so” he smiled “I do”

Ili smiled to, for the first time in a long while, the held hand’s and walked out of the room, walking down the stairs, everything was back to normal when they reentered the dance floor, Syd was out of sight, but Ili Knew he was still there, watching her carefully. Ili took a deep breath and walked to one of the table’s and grabbed a drink, carefully taking a sip. Alex spied out the room as he stood next to Ili. He finally said “come on let’s dance, your to tense” she smiled faintly and nodded , putting her drink down, laying her hand lightly in his, they both walked to the middle of the dance floor, and began dancing to the waltz, Ili laid her head on his chest her eye’s closed. Alex smiled contently as he watched Syd glowering at them. Alex couldn’t help feeling proud of himself and Ili of course. Ili took a deep breath and sighed, stepping back from Alex “I’m sorry I can’t go on, I need to leave, it doesn’t matter if Syd is watching or not.” She stepped away from him and walked out of the room, walking out into the gardens. Alex stood there, stunned, and then angry, as he heard Syd’s laughter he watched syd walk out after Ili. He smiled and shook his head and headed out after Syd, Ili on the verge of tears walked into the maze in the gardens, how the hell he could be so calm about this. Ili thought, she figured she was alone, but then the tell-tail sound of someone walking behind her made her turn around and look. Before she knew it she was pushed up against the hedge by her brother Syd. “Ha ha I knew you would be so dim witted Ili, you left yourself unprotected” Ili stayed silent but struggled to get away from him, “Your attempts are useless against me, you should know that by know…how stupid could you be?” Syd pulled her deeper into the maze he pulled her into the heart of it, and pinned her to the ground below him, her hands stuck in one of his larger one’s above her head. Natural instinct caught hold of her and she screamed as loud as she could, but it was cut short by Syd’s hand claming down over her mouth. To late Bro she thought as she saw Alex standing above Syd, Alex smashed a large stick into the back of Syd’s head, knocking him off Ili and out, but not before he cut Ili across the rib’s and a deep one at that, Ili screamed at the pain, then became silent as her blood continued to seep out of her, she lost consciousness. Alex Cursed under his breath as he kneeled down beside Ili, her blood pooling around her now pale body he picked her Cell phone out of her pocket and demon-dialed her doctor, minute’s later Elijah the doctor arrived to see Alex holding Ili’s limp body in his arm’s “holy fuck” he said as he pushed Ili out of Alex’s arm’s and began examining the wound. It was deep that was for sure, and In a rare show of emotion’s his face became grim “I don’t think she will live…she’s lost to much blood as it is” Alex moved away from them and walked to Syd’s body, splashing water onto him, he woke up “you bastard, look what you did to her” he held Syd’s arms behind his back as he walked him to Ili’s limp body that was now being patched up by Elijah. Syd laughed. “She was a stupid witch; she couldn’t have stopped this from happening” Syd shook with laughter as Elijah walked to him and laid him to the ground, by pushing a presser point, making him pass out. Alex silently walked to Ili kneeling beside her pale body. “Damn him” he said silently, he picked up Ili’s body and walked out of the maze to his car, he put her in carefully and closed the door, walking to Elijah “if I do a blood transfusion on her will it help at all?” he asked in a pained voice. Elijah smiled some “your thinking is wise, yes it will help, call me when you are ready to do it… perhaps when you get back to her place” Alex nodded and walked away he got into his car and drove off, to Ili’s place apparently. Elijah picked up Ili’s cell phone and put it in his pocket, walking to his car driving off, silently following Alex. Alex dried his tears and focused on driving the car. Minute’s later he drove into Ili’s driveway, Alex got out, then went and got Ili out, carefully holding her, he walked inside, laying her on her bed. He then called Ili’s cell and told Elijah to come. When the medic arrived he closed the front door after him and walked up the stairs to Ili’s bedroom. “You positive about this transfusion?” Alex nodded “I don’t want to lose her…not yet, not ever.” Elijah nodded and walked to the bed side, motioning Alex to sit next to Ili’s body and grab her hand. He took her hand, and the color simultaneously drained from him, and color grew slightly into hers. He sighed and got up, leaving her bedside to go into the guest room and rest. Elijah walked to Ili and touched her cheek watching as she sucked in air greedily. She groaned and curled onto her side, Elijah walked out of the room closing the door silently behind him. Hours later Alex walked out of the guest room and silently walked into Ili’s room, opening the curtains to let the light into the room. Ili groaned and turned away from the light, pulling a pillow over her head. Alex laughed and walked to Ili, pulling the pillow off her head “waky waky Ili, you need to get up” she groaned again and took her pillow and rolled over her back to Alex the pillow over her head again. “Five more minutes!!!!” she said. “No no now” he laughed and picked her up, taking her downstairs. Ili screamed in surprise as her hands flew around his neck. Alex tried to suppress the laughter; he knew that if he laughed he would prrly get hurt. Ili slapped him upside the head “don’t laugh at me... im half asleep”. She rolled her eyes as she was set down on the kitchen table,
