This silent stirring of new life in us,
Filling us with inner strength,
The strength is good,
And it comes from a place,
Deep inside our beings,
That has only been reached,
In the depth of ego-death,
This power we trust,
This is the power,
Of love and compassion,
The world cries out for,
The veil of illusion,
Lifts slowly and reveals,
The direction of our paths,
May be lighted another year through,
Dear mother goddess, and horned god our father,
Bless us this year through,
As we your children raise our eyes to you.
I see you there,
Just beyond my view,
Waiting there along this winding path,
So full of pitfalls and turns,
That I’ve chosen to travel.
Are you waiting there for me?
Could that even possibly be?
Your face so familiar,
Have we met in a distant time?
How is it that I recognize you?
Still you stand there like stone,
I walk on and the closer I get to you,
I see that you are made of flesh, not stone.
I know you my heart says,
But my mind runs to solve this puzzle.
Are you a figment of my lonely dreams?
Emerging from my mind to taunt me?
And yet I know you’re really there before me,
I can’t place you in my memories,
But still the answers dance out of my reach.
I stop and take a breath, Close my eyes, Concentrate.
Then slowly the pieces begin to fall into place,
I look on you with renewed sight,
You smile with your knowing eyes, and bade me to come.
I push forward now forcing the steps to come,
Faster now, everything is blurring behind me, you before me.
A hand outstretched to me I reach for it,
My eyes wide with shock as I slip and begin to fall.
The ground coming closer I close my eyes prepared for impact.
But it never comes, Slowly I open my eyes the dirt so close,
The firm grip of someone’s arms holding me,
I turn and see you, and find the final piece of my puzzle in you.
Your eyes search my face, and I see you know me too.
Are you going through the maze, I just came from?
Standing face to face,
I give you they key to free you,
Such simple words, to solve such a large puzzle.
The key to our puzzle you see,
Is not a physical thing, you can hold.
It lies far deeper than that,
While our minds worked away trying to solve it with equations,
Our hearts stretched out between us,
And knew it’s counterpart, it’s equal.
You see the true key to unlock this maze of riddles.
Before I even knew you,
And before you knew me,
Our hearts knew each other,
It lay dormant waiting for us too finally meet,
Some call it destiny, fate, soul mate.
I know not the name, or what to call it.
I just look at you and you at me,
And a voice inside starts singing,
Your heart and mine, in sync with each other,
Sealed in true loves kiss.
