I am excited about this new Covid test kit that we have developed. Apparently with faster and more accurate results!
First the A*STAR RT-PCR Test Kit (RUO) ... now the better version. If it really helps identify cases faster and lessens the local transmission ... we will most probably be donating some to our neighboring countries like before.

I must say that we learned a lot from the previous SARS episode. We are well prepared and handling everything in a calm manner. We went from #2 country with the highest number of covid cases ... to #46 now. That is bloody amazing. I know it is going to be a long battle ... but we are prepared.
Our government is giving out money for every household , rebates on bills , rebates for affected merchants , free sanitizers/masks for every household ... of course extra bonus for us healthcare workers. Even our ministers opted for 3 month pay cut help out.
The government is also paying the hospital bills for the confirmed and suspected cases ... only for the locals of course.

Back to back meetings suck. I can't even squeeze in a toilet break! I cannot concentrate with a full bladder ... ugh!

I turned 37 on Monday ... worked on my birthday because our leaves are frozen. I hope they ease up a bit because I want to rest a little. Working 11 hours a day is getting to me. I am physically exhausted.
The hospital has set up tents to facilitate the overflow of patients. Our department has stepped up to help with the whole planning and setting up. Noone complained. We will do what needs to be done. We can't help them medically ... we will support them in every other way possible.

I told my mum to go get some essentials in case they lockdown. She came back with 6 bottles of dish washing liquid and 3 bags laundry softener. What the hell happened to the noodles ma!!!!

My colleagues's son has tested positive for Covid while he was in quarantine. So my colleague has been issued with home quarantine. Hope she is okie. I am so worried for her.
The entire office has to be disinfected now. I packed all my stuff so that the cleaning crew can get to work over the weekend.
For social distancing, the department will be splitting. Half of us will be at the current office and the other half will be relocating to a make shift building.

We reported our first 2 deaths here. A local elderly woman and a foreigner for came in for treatment. Both had pre-existing health conditions which worsen during the Covid infection.

Still no need to panic, our contact tracing is our best resource. We have controlled our local transmission, now we just need to battle the imported cases. People who contracted the virus while travelling in Europe and Other Asean countries.

Compliance is key here! Just calm down and follow the guidelines to keep yourself and those around you safe.

I cannot believe this guy flew in on a private jet just to seek treatment here.
So this guy ... a confirm covid patient ... from a neighboring country ... took a private jet and came to Singapore to seek treatment. Why couldn't he go to his local hospital for treatment?
I am just thankful he arrived in his private jet and did not take a normal passenger flight.

Throughout my screening duty ... we received numerous gifts or encouragement from the public. Food ... Flowers ... Drinks and most importantly ... words of motivation :D

I have stopped meeting my girlfriends and relatives . Being extra cautious and not putting anyone at risk.
