The Impending Annihilation
There is a death of light,
Then patience hangs limply,
Cable cutting into its neck.
Its an irony being hung by hope.
Now anger arrives and tears itself through organs.
Ripping the victim apart without mercy.
Without breathing.
Without Blinking.
Unconsciously, without a care.
Almost as if deserved.
Sorrow wanders in after the evaporation of fearless fury
It weaves itself around the assault with regret,
Raining upon the dry deserts of exposed emotions,
Apologising in tiny whims of sound,
Barely audible over the suffering present.
But apologises fall on deaf ears,
Now the act of self destruction has been executed.
There is no way for you to change what just happened,
And that is why you hang limply by yourself.
Swinging on a rope just as you did as a child.
Only this time with less push.
It was a day like any other spring.
The rays of the sun were reflected like glass through the rain,
As my heart sank to the bottom of the ocean,
Pleading with me to let go.
I thought of you in the summer.
The heat reminded me of your golden skin,
Soft like silk, bringing out the blue of your eyes.
I missed you very much.
When the autumn came I thought about you still.
Our long walks through the woods,
Somehow always making through to the other side,
Saved by the light that was setting above us.
I still missed you then.
When winter came and brought the snow,
I was caught between chills.
Painful as it was to not have you there,
The memories of you kept me warm through the coldest nights.
I craved you deeply with the sting of longing.
But today the spring brought the plants again to life,
And with it the smell returned to my sense’s.
The life of you being inhaled by me,
The handle of the door still warm from when you left,
Kept open an inch just in case you ever returned.
The sky opened up and rain fell through gently,
Within it, specks of light spilled through each drop,
While my heart pleaded with me to let go.
But here I am, all the while, thinking of you.
I loved you then,
But I love you now more then ever.
