Elephant Story

16:41 Mar 11 2009
Times Read: 706

In 1986, Peter Davies was on holliday in Kenya after graduating from Northwestern University.

On a hike through the bush, he came across a young bull elephant standing with one leg in the air. The elephant seemed distressed, so Peter approached it very carefully. He got down on one knee, inspected the elephants foot, and found a large piece of wood deeply embedded in it. As carefully as he could, Peter worked the wood out with his knife, after which the elephant gingerly put his foot down.

The elephant turned to face the man, and with a rather curious look on it's face, stared at him for several tense moments. Peter stood frozen, thinking of nothing else but being trampled. Eventually the elephant trumpeted loudly, turned and walked away. Peter the elephant or the events of that day.

Twenty years later, Peter was walking through the chicago zoo with his teenage son. As they approached the elephant enclosure, one of the creatures turned and walked over to near where Peter and his son Cameron were standing. The large bull elephant stared at Peter, lifted his front foot off the ground, then put it down. The elephant did that several times then trumpeted loudly, all the while staring at the man.

Remembering the encounter in 1986, Peter summoned up his courage, climbed over the railing, and made his way into the enclosure. He walked right up to the elephant and stared back in wonder. the elephant trumpeted again, wrapped it's trunk around one of Peter's leg and slammed him against the railing, killing him instantly.

Probably not the same elephant.

compromise or give up the will to live?

which one is it ? what is it that you want ? one person can't fix everything. it takes both to overcome obstacles. one person cant whine moan cry and bitch while the other one tries to make everything ok. It just won't accomplish anything. stop dwelling on the negative things and focus on the positive. positive thoughts bring forth positive feelings which bear positive actions.

Accountability

23:52 Mar 10 2009
Times Read: 710

What the hell is going on? It's totally unbelievable how some people have no idea what it is to except responsibility for their actions. It seems to be alot easier to come up with ridiculous excuses about why they can't do something... Maybe TRYING would help. I'm so sick of it, I can't stand it anymore. Do what you say, say what you mean and for god's sake keep your bullshit to yourself, I really don't have time for it. Drama Queens and wannabee's stay in your world and out of mine.

there was a time, a certain time that i used to perform a traditional exercise. I don't know what happened. I don't know why but it's been 5 years ( the age of my oldest child) coincidentally. I really miss it, i crave it, i desire it more and more the longer i go without it. what could this precious thing be you ask. Well it could very well be extinct as far as I know. but back a long time ago we used to call it A Nap. lol
