So it turns out I panicked for nothing... nothing came crashing down... we still have to sort a lot of stuff out but for now, it's good. I'm so relieved I can't even put it into words. I've been walking around the past couple of days feeling sick to the stomach because of this. Now... I'm good. Thank gods for that.

Yesterday all was good... today as of 3am it's all fallen down around me.

Just waiting, now, to find out the verdict...

Well, I'm now officially part of the great unwashed. Well except for the unwashed part. I just had a shower :P

I got my first unemployment payment yesterday. I worked out a budget and after expenses I will have $12 play money.

... wooooo ...

Mum surprised me by telling me not to worry about paying for rent or food for now, to put that money onto the credit cards instead as they're maxed out from the US trip. I was floored. I mean, it's not like we're talking a small amount here. I felt bad about it but I agreed to it. At least this way I'll be able to pay off the cards way quicker than by just making the minimum repayments each month.

So yay for mum!

In other news.... nah who am I kidding. There is no other news. Lol.

Despondent. I hate the distance between us. The time factor. The fact that I'm asleep when he's awake and vice versa. Hate that we rarely get to talk any more, and when we do one or the other of us is too tired to say much. Hate that the world over there interferes with his being able to talk to me. It's not fair, I hate it and I want it to change.

Well... I didn't get the job. Le sigh. Now I am thoroughly embroiled in the Australian unemployment system. *shudders*

Monday I have a Job Network appointment, followed by another Centrelink appointment, then maybe after that I can start receiving benefits, which will be good as I have maybe $100 to my name, maximum. And I have to pay bills out of that yet.

Ugh. Have I mentioned I hate looking for work???

So as of this morning I've officially been home for a week. I still haven't fully unpacked... I feel like once I've gotten everything put away properly, then it will be like it never happened, and I don't want that. I'm assured that it won't be like that but still. I'm entitled to my irrationalities!

In the past week I've slept a hell of a lot, caught up with friends, put in my green card application, registered for unemployment, applied for about 50 jobs, and played some games.

Today I got my first job callback and I have an interview on Monday. It's not the best job in the world, not exactly what I wanted, but in my area of expertise and the pay is about $50k pa. Can't complain there!!!! So fingers crossed... Hopefully the lingering cold and other ailments have dissipated by then. Please god!!! Lol.

In other news I have the house to myself this weekend... just no one to share it with. *pouts* Oh well. Can't have everything I guess.

I'm home, and as of this morning am over my jetlag (otherwise why the hell would I be up at 6.30 in the morning on a Sunday? Lol!!!).

I was very sad to leave the States, not only did I have fun (mostly) while I was there but I was also with someone I love and now won't be able to see for months if not years. Only time will tell if it will work out but I hope to all the gods it will. He's my one, and I will fight as hard as I can to keep him.

In other news, D&D is on today for the first time in 3 months. Yay!!! Twill be most excellent to see the D&D people again. Hopefully they won't catch my foreign cold though. Lol. (My pristine Australian immune system got tied down and raped by American germs... half it's luck. LMAO!!!)

It was a shock to the system getting back here... The day I left, there was snow. I came back to a 30 degree celcius day (that's 86 for you imperialists). The sun comes up here at 4.30am. Over there it was lucky to be light at 7am. And yes the toilets really do flush in opposite directions!!!

Anyway. Must do loads of washing and start sorting trip detrius out.
