One more possible clue about the origin of the Goths.



I searched for the name Dacian on http://www.thinkbabynames.com/





I found:

So I thought "Are you kidding? why NOBLEMEN from THE SOUTH in France?!?

Dacia was in the far East from Gallia, not in the South! and Romania is still there far East from France even now.



The answer might be the Latin Origin(Latins took Dacian captives after the Daco-Roman wars 101-102, 105-106) and then maybe they spread in the South of Gallia, and later the Roman Empire recruited cohorts from Dacia andthey spread even in now-days England (the famous cavalry men with the Dacian dragon-shaped flag).



OK! But why NOBLEMEN? The captives were all slaves and the soldiers were ... well... soldiers.



Explanation may be the invasion of the Gothic tribes after 376. All the history of the end of the Roman Empire (and by that of all the Europe) stays under the sign of these mysterious people that are considered German... but they in fact may be Gets aka Dacians.



So if GOTHS=GETS and Gets is just the Latin name for Dacians, the we can see why Dacian means NOBLE and FROM THE SOUTH!



After descending at the South of Danube and then conquering the western part of Roman Empire, changing the capital from Rome to Ravenna, the Goths (Gets?) spawned to the SOUTH of GALLIA and all over the modern days Spain also conquering those lands and founding so called "barbarian kingdoms" where they were the nobility of the zones.



So that`s why the other Gauls were talking about them as THE NOBLES FROM THE SOUTH of Gallia.



The hypothesis that "Dacian" comes from the Germanic tribe of the Dutch, the inhabitants of nowdays Holland in this case can not be true, because Holland is still even today in the NW of France.
