Heart broken in passion
Soul mangled in pain
A lonely girl walks
Repeating, “Look away.”
Her face is scratched
And her pride is torn
Look away my love
For it is nothing but scorn
Her life was a good one
With ponies and dolls
Then something happened
A horrible fall
Stitched and bruised
And no hope ahead
She turned to a savior
Who was left under her bed
A colorful follow
Who no one knew
Just for her,
Maybe just for you
Smiles and laughter
Rang through her head
Until one day
It was taken away
Nothing good lasts
The bad overpowers
The little girl thinks
As she cowers
“It all isn’t real,
It all isn’t there”
She says over and over
Knowing true fear
A few years older
Towering over
Causing more pain
As she says, “It’s okay”
“Get out of my dreams,
Get out of my head!
You know nothing about me
You’re better off dead!
Leave me be,
And vanish right now!
Let my screams be heard,
And not aloud!
Look away,

I don’t exist to you,
Just look away.
Stand up again,
Push my way through
I’m not done yet,
Still things to do.”
She leaves the house,
Not looking back,
Her misery eternal,
Her sleep is lacked.
The demons still with her,
Everlasting pain,
A ray of hope is left ahead.
The girl with the broken face.
