You can achieve astral projection if you are somewhere comfortable and quiet.
Astral projection, or having an out-of-body experience, typically occurs any time a person goes to sleep. Many people believe that a person's astral body will naturally leave the body while sleeping. People who practice astral projection can become aware of their astral body leaving during both a conscious or unconscious projection. The actual act of astral projection through a dream state can be learned by anyone with practice and awareness.
Instructions
1. Remember your dreams. Before you even start to practice astral projection, you want to become aware of your dreams. For a few mornings, as soon as you awake, write down your dreams before you stand up or move. In doing so, you will begin to train your body to remember your dreams.
2. State an affirmation. During the day, and when you are falling asleep, state an affirmation telling yourself that you will remember your dreams. You may want to write the affirmations down and carry them with you so that you remember to recite them.
3. Look at your hands. To continue working with your subconscious mind, consciously look at your hands several times throughout the day. Your subconscious mind is what is in control during the dreaming phase of sleep, and by learning to control the subconscious mind, you will be able to astral project.
4. Change your affirmation. After you become aware of your hands, you can change your affirmation to something about remembering your projections.
5. Practice your projection. Trying to reach astral projection at nighttime, after a long day of being awake, can be difficult. The best time to work on astral projection is after waking in the middle of the night or if you want to take an afternoon nap.
6. Concentrate on having your body relax. However you are able to control your thoughts and relax your body, do it. Some people can do this by counting, chanting, controlling their breath, or envisioning climbing steps. Relax your body from your toes to your head. Let your mind and body go.
7. Control your dreams. After controlling your subconscious and becoming aware of your dreams, the trick is to become aware that you are dreaming and to continue to stay asleep without waking. This state happens with practice. When you feel confident, try and change your dream or go somewhere else in your dream. Go for it; you are now projecting.
