How the Peacock got his pattern.



Let’s see we can not forget Argus. Who was a monster with eyes all over his body. Some say that he had 4 eyes and some say he had 100. But only 2 of his eyes were closed at a time.



Argus played a huge role in a tale about Zeus, who happed to be the randy lord of gods, and Io happened to be the daughter or a local river god. She was one of the many women -mortal and divine- who was desired by the seemingly insatiable Zeus. In order to conceal his dalliance with Io from his jealous wife, Hera Zeus transformed the young maiden into a snow-white heifer. However Hera was no dummy when it came to Zeus and his philandering ways with nubile young women. But Hera say threw Zeus’s attempted ruse. In order to get back to her sex-addicted cheating husband. Hera decided she would claim Zeus’s pet heifer for herself. When Hera got her she placed her in chains and under then under the watchful eyes of Argus.



But Zeus’s wasn’t about to give up. He struck back by sending the god Hermes to lull Argus to sleep and free Io, However he couldn’t get him to sleep by playing his magical pipe so he bored him to death over a story. And then later loped his head off. To honor Argus Hera placed his many eyes in the tail of her favorite bird the peacock. But Hera wasn’t finished she later. And poor Io was still in the form of a heifer. And Hera tormented her with a gadfly that drove itching madly across Europe and Asia until she was drove into the sea which the ( Ionian Sea was named to her). So Io swam to Egypt where Zeus returned her to human form and she later bore what the tabloids call the “ Child of Love”
