he sat at his table in the nook of his kitchen nothing but a cup of coffee gone cold and rain that looked like it was one sheet of water
the house was quiet all but the rain hitting the windows ...his mind cut lose and set adrift upon the seas of mental endlessness... thoughts drifting in and out like the tide
he noticed the sound of the rain reminded him of bacon frying ..and then thought about the bacon frying and realized that that sound was similar to the sound of applause in a packed theater..which brought him back to the rain
