The clean up didn't take long, so I made my way to the pit. I saw other beings moving to the pit as well, in all there would be around sixteen of us. All of us trying to be the last warrior standing, all of us sadists in our own capacities. We all stood on the edge of the pit; looking around I made a list of the targets I needed to deal with first, the list was long. From most threatening to least, the list went: The Demon spawned Human would need to die first, I hate Demon's. After that was the Garou; or werewolf, as Humans refer to them. Next came the chimera; this thing was huge, at least thirteen feet tall. There were two other Vampires here tonight, and they were a tie on who needed to die more. Something of a rarity came next; a Nagga, a snake creature with man like qualities. Next was a Mage; I couldn't tell what kind, I only could smell the magic on his aura. The Drow from the last match entered the melee too, both of them. Some sort of Golem fought in the melee; not doubt for a cowardly mage, though it's completely legal. There was a hunter; I could sense a couple artifacts on him, that would give him an edge most Human's lacked. What looked like a small tribe of Orcs; was entering as well, they would probably fight as a group till the end. Lastly was a single bast; I rated him last not out of thinking him weak, but because he seemed familiar. So I wanted to kill him last, maybe he could make a temporary ally. The signal was given; and we all dropped the twenty feet into the pit, above our heads a barrier sparked into life. Now it was time for some healing.

As I soar over the land; high above the clouds, I chide myself for allowing emotions to rule me. I only hurt because I allow myself to. In a sense it seems counter productive, but either way they are mine and I won't give them up. Many thousands of years ago, I was taught the beauty of emotion. To cast them away just because they hurt, would dishonor her memory. So instead I have learned to channel them, although I doubt she would approve of how. It took me less than a couple of hours to fly across the continent. Here on this continent my favorite outlet, was on the east coast. I landed on the forested outskirts of a large metropolis, the humans believe this to be their city. But that was a laughable joke; this city is almost entirely run by vampires, and has been since it's inception. I walked through the forest until finding a subway tunnel. The concrete walls were covered with the graffiti markings of local human gangs, but if you knew what to look for there were other markings too. Hidden with plain sight; amongst all the spray paint, are vampiric runes. These markings act as a trail, for those that can read it. I didn't need the markers though; I had been here many times in the last couple centuries, and the path was very familiar to me. I walked through the tunnels; taking my time, letting the pain and rage build. I thought of my lost loves, and failed relationships. I could've wandered those tunnels for days recounting all my past failures, but I had a destination in mind. After a couple hours of walking through the blackened tunnels; the lighting had all been broken and never repaired, I started hearing familiar sounds. First came the loud and raucous cheers, then as I got closer the sound of battle reached me. My lips curved into a malicious smile and my pace quickened. I exited a tunnel and the arena sprawled before me; this used to be an underground terminal for the human subways, but after some convincing it was abandoned. That was nearly three hundred years ago, now it served as an immortal gladiatorial pit. Creatures of all the races came to this place; I've fought vampires, werewolves, trolls, chimera, bast, demons, and even humans who have realized their true potential here. This place was soaked in the scents of countless species' blood; souls were traded and bought here in mass, then used as betting chips. The battles were usually to the death; and if you lost, you could become someone's prize. I went straight to the lists; a kiosk that was once a ticket booth, now served as the sign in podium. I browsed the upcoming battles briefly, before throwing my name into the next melee. These were usually the most deadly and ferocious fights, making them my favorite. The name taker smiled as I signed up, he was a long time fan. The last fight was still going, so I decided to get a bite to drink. The refreshments were always a little sub par at these events, but they were good for topping off my energy reserves. As entered the "food court" I saw that some of the blood slaves were chained still, that meant they were relatively fresh. The barkeep greeted me with an overzealous smile.

"Deathbringer, I was wondering if you would show up again. What's it been, thirty years?" I couldn't remember ever seeing this vampire before.

"Something like that, I'll take the red head." I said with a gesture to a young woman chained behind him. She was naked, revealing her overweight body. I thought briefly of Mitsu's lover; smiling at my pettiness, I paid for her with fourty pieces of ancient silver. Physical currency is always used for such simple trades, a blood slave isn't worth a soul. Taking the hint from my tone and demeanor, the nameless barkeep handed her chain over with a polite nod. As she whimpered softly her body jiggled, and I couldn't help but feel sorry for her. I gripped her chin softly and turned her eyes up to look into my eyes. It was easy to change her perceptions with my glamour. She immediately stopped whimpering and smiled brightly; she was at a ball now, with a handsome suitor. That dream should be pleasant enough for her last memories. I led her to the seating area; what she saw was a beautifully graceful ballet playing out before her eyes, what was really happening would've likely terrified her. A huge Minotaur was down on one knee, desperately trying to hold his organs inside the red and black ruin that used to be his stomach. His two Drowish opponents; Drow are a cousin to the Elven race, were closing in from two sides for the kill. She was enthralled by the beautiful lie I had given her, she never even felt my fangs. The battle ended a couple minutes later, the Drow gleefully hacking into their weakened opponent. Screaming battle crys in their own language, and laughing as they were sprayed with hot blood. It would only be a couple minutes before the melee started, the lesser immortals and human slaves were already clearing the arena of corpses and weapons. I left my empty meal where she was, I'm sure something here would be appreciative for the leftovers. By now my mood was black as my blood, and I was ready to share. This was my group therapy.

It took me seven steps to make it to the first table; with each step, I dropped my disguise a little more. By the time I reached the men there; my bones had shifted, the pigment of my skin changed, the thick course brown hair on my head and face fell out, being replaced with my own black mane. The humans didn't have time to overcome their confusion, I snapped the first man's neck before the man next to him realized what was happening. Then with a portion of my inhuman strength I grabbed the second man's head and drove it through the hardwood table in front of him. Both were dead instantly, and without a second glance at either of them I stepped onto their table. A woman who was sitting across from my first two kills; started to screech, I silenced her quickly with a bone snapping kick to her upper lip. The man next to her drew a hand axe, swinging it for my calf. I easily stepped over the blade, and stomped hard on his elbow. Between the crushing force of my foot; and the durability of the fire hardened table, his elbow was a pulped mess. His screams didn't last long, I drove my fist into his open mouth. His frail physiology broke easily enough, and my hand punched through the back of his skull. The familiar sound of a well thrown blade flying through the air, alerted me to the next threat. Opening my hand; I gripped the back of the corpses neck, and hoisted him out of his seat. A long dagger buried itself in between the human corpse's shoulders, I hurled the body off my gore covered wrist. It's full weight toppled two men who were running toward me with pikes. Now they were finally showing some steel, they were grouping up and readying weapons. I drew my own swords; long curved blades that were magically enhanced, each with a defensive cross guard. They were nearly six feet in length, but wielded each one single handed. One blade held in a reverse grip, the other in a standard grip. Without a word I moved in toward the largest knot of warriors, lashing at them with blades and body as soon as I was in reach. I knocked weapons from human hands with one sword, and left corpses in my wake with the other. It wasn't long before the entire cathedral stank of blood and death; I had turned a house of the holy, into a charnel house. The bandit leader tried to run, as he watched me rip his last defender in half. I wasn't going to allow that; I quickly worked the only magic I truly had mastery over, flesh crafting the legs and lower torso in my hands. The spear I hurled; pinning him to a wall, had once been his second I think. As I walked out of my recently made abattoir, I paused briefly to take his skull with my hand. Now onto the easy part; I walked out the main doors, to see all the younger warriors waiting for me on the cathedral steps. As I opened the doors, I rolled their leader's head down the steps before me. The spattering of blood, making a broken red carpet to mark my exit. I didn't understand their tribal language; but I could smell the delicious spice of fear, coursing through the crowd of about thirty warriors. I had left over half as many corpses in the cathedral; eighteen men and woman, the doors opened wide enough to show most of them. They didn't charge; which means my scare tactic worked, so I pressed the advantage. Leaping directly from the top of the stairs into their huddled group, I killed three instantly. My weight crushing one beneath me; while the other two were torn apart, by my raking weapons. I didn't wait for a response; my weapons and body lashed out at every angle, sending bloody chunks of flesh and broken bodies soaring through the air. It was over fast, and when it was, the white cathedral steps were a thick crimson. The mothers had already fled with their babies, so I wouldn't have to kill any kids today. I'll consider that my bonus.

The Hunt pt7

I reappeared a block from my prey's apartment complex, scanning the energy scape for her aura. Seeing that she was home I decided to watch her a little, after all I have been preoccupied. She was sitting alone; in nothing but shorts and a bra, watching a computer screen. She was alone tonight and her aura was dripping with sadness and loneliness, she was beautiful. I was surprised by my own thoughts and chuckled, food can be beautiful. After some time watching videos on her computer, she called out for her pet. A beautiful dog with orange and gold hair came happily to her, they played together for a while before she drifted to sleep. I was about to leave when her lover returned, it was very late for a human. My prey didn't wake, her lover quietly slipped into the shower. I decided to wait a little longer, curious about their relationship. When my prey's lover finally came to bed, she did so without waking her. It seems to me as if their relationship is a bit one sided, but what would I know of such things. I haven't had a healthy relationship in more than a millenia. For some reason a profound loneliness filled me, unlike most of my kind I have kept my emotions. Now I regretted it, these emotions of loneliness and longing were more painful than silver blades. I spread my wings and soared high into the air, I needed to find some distraction. My prey was getting to me, and I hadn't even spoken to her. Still though the pain of loneliness needed answering, so I started looking for someone to share it with. For some reason I saw myself in her; I had learned her name from the human sent to kill her, it was Mitsu. A japanese name derivative of the word honey. There was something almost spellbinding about her, but for now I just wanted to forget Mitsu.

The Hunt pt6

It takes a few minutes for the human to gain composure, at which point I ask.

"Would you like some water?" I was sure to keep my tone neutral. He just stared at me in disbelief still which is what I was afraid of, he was broken. Sometimes when people, not just humans but any sentient race. When they face something that they were absolutely sure couldn't possibly exist, their minds just shut down. No people react to this kind of break differently; some people go into a more instinctual mode, that's why it's called 'primal terror'. Then there are the people who just refuse to accept what they see, those are some sad bastards. Still others are more stuck on trying to figure out what was happening; like my new pet, he was trying to make me fit into his view of the world. He has dedicated all his processing ability to figuring out what I was, human's tenacity was admirable. He knew that he would likely die, yet wouldn't stop looking for an answer. But I needed his attention now, and was running out of patience. With a minor psychic pulse I connected our minds; manifesting inside Gabriel's psyche, I learned his name through his blood hours ago. He was in his own thoughts, lost in his memories. Trying to find any information he could use, so I gave it to him.

"I am a Vampire human, and you are now mine." He was actually calmer as he came to the realization; that he finally had his answer, so he turned to face me. I admired that as well; perhaps after my little mission, if he survives? I might let him into my little club I've been starting. But that would be later, right now is school time. He impressed me again with his next question.

"Who are you?" He was looking directly at me, even though we were in his mind.

"My name doesn't matter Gabriel, all you need to do is listen" As I spoke those words I drew his psyche back to the surface, he shook his head from side to side. Looking up at me from the floor, he finally asked the question most humans lead with.

"What do you want with me?" He was obviously still terrified, but he was regaining some composure. In the midst of explaining his role in my plan, and the lack of his options. I couldn't help think of her; my enticing prey, her spirit would put this human's to shame.

"So do you fully understand everything I've told you?" I asked after finishing my explanation, and personal musing. He nodded numbly, but I could sense the spark of hope deep inside him. Whether he was hoping to betray me; or gain my praise, I didn't care either way. Even if he did bring his entire crime family back to find me; all that would come of that, would be a sudden power gap in the human underground. But soon his choice wouldn't mean anything, I don't allow puppets to have a choice. I waited till he drank his water, calmly watching him gulp it down. To my honest surprise he actually noticed what was happening after swigging the last of it. He looked up confused, then afraid, but soon he just calmly stood up. Before giving him the cup, I put a small drop of blood into it. After swallowing the last gulp, what he noticed was my will infecting every facet of his. Naturally the stronger will won out, and now he would happily comply with whatever I asked.

"Go get cleaned up, there's facilities that way." I pointed without looking, relaying the information through my blood to him for good measure. "After; you are to deliver the news of her attempt at getting a crew together, then the bloody gunfight that followed. Both sides took heavy losses, but she's dead and you aren't. Lucky man, then you can find me again whenever you like; to kill me or serve me, makes no difference to me. You're welcome to try either, just remember I know your thoughts. Then without a second glance I slipped into my own shadow; disappearing right in front of him, I didn't check on him again for some time.

The Hunt pt5

06:40 Feb 27 2016
Times Read: 307

After putting my recent meal in the passenger seat I hopped in the hit squad's car. I have driven a few cars in the recent centuries, but it is a simple thing to control these machines. I drive out of the city, taking back roads out into the desert. Out here no one would bother us for a couple days, I knew from the blood of my recent acquisition that they weren't even supposed to check in for a week. They apparently had plans to do the job, then spend some time partying in L.A. So I will have enough time to do the rituals properly, blood binding a goul who has potent blood could prove difficult if not done properly. After reaching our destination, I pulled his still unconscious body from the car with one hand. His weight was nothing to me, so I carried him inside the same way. The building used to be a doomsday prepper's bunker, he built it with the intention of surviving WW3. However the ludicrous amount of money I offered him helped him build a better shelter elsewhere. Now it served as a sort of headquarters for me in this area, I owned a few houses in the surroundings cities as well. I had places like this across the world, sanctuaries that I could use when I needed privacy. As I dropped the human on the table, I surveyed the rooms details. Checking the minutiae for any differences since I was last here. Seeing nothing out of place I sat down in the single seat that graced the room. It was large and made from black leather, big enough to fit my true size. As I sat there my thoughts drifted to her, my real prey. I wondered what she might be doing at this moment, since in all reality I have given her. That thought made me laugh, I actually saved her life twice now. Yet I am hunting her, but even that isn't quite right. I was honestly more stalking her; she was incredibly interesting, and I think if we talked she would prove to be even more so. Before I could muse over the subject anymore, I heard the human's heart rate start picking up. I looked up at where I had left him, he was starting to stir. I stood up and crossed the room, grabbing him by the throat just as he sat up. His eyes were filled with terror so true that he couldn't control his bladder, disgusted I threw him over against the wall. He hit and fell to the floor, he was silent and still. I could hear his heartbeat and knew the human lived, so closing the flesh of my nostrils I went to him. This time I simply stood over him, pinning him with my will. He whimpered like a beaten animal, asking a series of questions that was broken and interrupted by begging. This could take more time than I thought; even if he does have potent blood, he's weak.

I spent all night eliminating the patrols; I wanted it done before the next day, so I could hit the main camp the next night. I had to sprint all out through great swaths of the forest, traveling huge amounts of distance in record times. The patrolling warriors had been told to look for invaders not assassins, so I killed each group easily. Getting it all done before dawn was the hard part, but I managed. Now the whole of the forest; except the temple itself, was now neutral territory. I moved in closer to the temple itself, just before dawn I found a cave to await the night. The sun can burn my flesh, but I've seen one of my teachers stand completely unguarded against the sun for twelve hours. Still I preferred to fight in darkness, but if given no choice I can last two hours in the sun. I didn't sleep during the day, my ears were alert and scanning for sounds of alarm. But that burning ball of furry made it's way across the sky, eventually the shadow once again reigned. I slipped out of the cave that was looking down a small hill, at the temple. Without hesitation I jumped and unfurled my wings, flapping twice to gain a little altitude. I circle the temple grounds; watching where the warriors trained or sparred, whatever they were doing. The women were near the stream, washing bedding and clothes. Their children played in what used to be a garden, they were kicking the decaying head of a monk back and forth. I swooped lower and smelled for cooking meat, wherever that was the leader wouldn't be far. Within a few seconds I caught the scent; with yet another dive I silently landed in the bell tower, there wasn't even a guard. These bandits are sloppy, I'm surprised it hasn't cost them already, but I was going to use every opening they offered. I walked down the spiraling stairs; each step my wings getting smaller, being absorbed and repurposed. The door at the bottom was open wide, and I could hear loud partying. I casually strolled in through a side door to an ancient cathedral, it had been transformed into a tavern. Or the bandit leader's idea of a great hall. A couple of the men even smiled and greeted me; I smiled back and waved, as I strode to the big double doors. These doors were the only other entrance this building, and they were all a little confused as one of their own was barring the door. I had been wearing a disguise since walking in, my flesh and bone mimicking that big guys. After sealing us in, I turned around and faced the confused crowd.

War Journal: Second assignment; cont.

I started my recon with a few silent strolls through the forest, pushing my senses to the limit. It wasn't difficult to pick up human scent trails, since they contrasted strongly against the forest's smells. One by one I found them, over the course of three nights. The bandits outlying guards, were in rag tag patrol groups all around the forest's perimeter. Where I landed was already behind enemy lines, but they were going to be my first targets. Before that I need a solid estimate on the camps strength, but since I now knew their patrol routes getting that information won't be a problem. I head deeper into the forest from the opposite side of my landing zone. This part of the forest had obvious trails and signs of deliberate clearing, so I figured that they probably had fortified the temple. While moving deeper I was careful to stay away from the pathways, I started seeing people soon. The main camp was around fourty strong; men, women and children. I wasn't fond of killing children, but I was hired to exterminate them all. I sat for a while watching them; trying to come to a decision, only for two days. Then it was time to go to work. I left the temple grounds unseen, making my way back to the forest's perimeter. Luckily in a forest this big, there are plenty of places to hide from the sun. So hiding until nightfall was easy, then I made my first move. The group of bandits moved in a loose and sloppy diamond formation, there were three men and a woman. The biggest of the men was taking up the rear, I waited till the others were distracted by something up ahead. Slipping up behind him was easy enough, though large he didn't seem very perceptive. He was focused on the woman as she knelt down to look at something. I wasn't sure if he was watching out of duty or checking out her ass, but he died silently as I slid my dagger through the base of his skull. My other hand gripped his face tightly, covering his mouth and keeping him from dropping. The other three were moving again, as the glanced back they saw their big friend facing a tree. As I held him there hiding between him and the tree, they thought he was pissing. Without a word they shrugged and moved on, I left his body at the base of the tree and moved after them. A little while later I heard the woman ask a question, when the two men shrugged in response. She just sighed and said to break for lunch while she tracked him down. The two men she commanded must have been her brothers because the resemblance was apparent. They sat down opening their packs, and beginning to argue over who got what. As they argued she left, no doubt in search of the oaf. I waited patiently watching her leave, then after she was gone I pounced. With silent precision I slashed both their vocal cords and then drove the blades of my daggers into the tops of their heads, both brothers died at the same time. Without waiting to watch them fall from the log they were sitting on, I sprinted after the leader. She must have heard something wrong; maybe it was her brothers lack of arguing; but she was ready. I was a little over eager and ran straight into her spear, she had been hiding and waiting. The spear punched deep into my stomach, if I wasn't seven four it would've hit my heart. I didn't even roar, I just chuckled and pulled her closer by gripping the spear. She screamed as she realized I wasn't human, turning around and leaving her spear sticking out of me she tried to sprint away. I snatched a handful of her hair before she got out of my reach, my grip was solid. She fell off her feet as I jerked her back to me, her eyes went wide and she screamed again at what I did next. I pulled her spear out of my back twirled it once and slammed it through her face. I was impressed by her actually stabbing me, so I killed her quick.

The Hunt pt4

17:58 Feb 26 2016
Times Read: 324

I was intrigued a little more than I should've been, the woman she was with had been a feed of mine some years ago. So I admittedly stalked them for a couple of weeks, watching their relationship from afar. I've watched millions of different horrifying events; dragons wiping entire nations from the map, the inquisition, and even the sad attempts at immortality of that crazy bastard Jack. But this relationship was painful, my delicious new infatuation was bleeding herself dry. Not for me though; and not literally, but for my leftovers. I shook my head in disbelief, she had an amazing aura, compared to leftovers and most humans. Yet she bows and scrapes to please that overbearing woman. I decided to stop watch for a while, it was just too sad. But as I was turning to go late one night, no more than three hours till dawn. A black car pulled into a parking spot across from my prey's apartment building; but they did so with their lights off for about a block. I have seen this type of driving a few times, so without waiting for them to get out. I sent a psychic pulse into the car, scrying the minds within. I pulled information from their thoughts with practiced skill, but it was like pulling books of a library shelf. None of them had much in the way of psychic defenses, and they definitely didn't feel my presence. With my suspicions confirmed I couldn't help but laugh, turns out her ex really does have some issues. Inside the car were four professional killers, with a combined kill count of fourty-three. If they started multiplying that number by exponential amounts, they might equal my early years. I used a simple stasis spell on the street; this meant that even if the brought a rocket launcher, no one else would be affected. Just as the doors opened and they got out, I allowed myself to become visible. Walking directly into the middle of the street, and pointedly looking in their direction. Four men, all well dressed and well armed. They were actually pretty good for normal humans, I had heard one of them say "I don't know guys, I got a bad feeling about tonight.", that was when I did my spell. That's why I would enjoy eating that one, his blood had family magic. But first the entertainment, then dinner. The obvious leader emerged from the group pretty quick when he said "Who the hell are you?". His hand pulled his jacket aside revealing a gun of some kind, one that shoots a large number of bullets quickly. I wasn't in the mood to talk; an annoying tic of anger had been building up for a while now, and I wanted to break things. I rushed in surprising the whole group into an attempt at action, but I hit their leader first. My speed and power compared to human, is just sad. His right hand started to rise toward the grip of his pistol, I was already ripping into his throat. I stooped low so that my face would be right in the splash zone, I looked at the three remaining through the crimson gore of their leaders blood. He was already falling back when I suddenly dashed to my next target, at my height the low animalistic run I fell into must have been unnerving because I heard one of the scream in terror. But my target was focused and actually drew a machete; he pulled it up, but never brought it down. It fell uselessly from twitching fingers; I drove my hand through his abbs, gripping his spine and snapping it. I dramatically pulled my hand out the side of his torso; causing blood, bone, and thick ropey intestines to fly across the hood of their car. The one with magic in his blood was staring at me in disbelief, paralyzed by the shattering of his reality. The other guy was running; I couldn't have that, ripping the car's door off I hurled it at him like an over sized shuruken. The door was an ungainly thing though, forcing me to control it's flight telekinetically. With the other three bodies being taken by their own shadows to decay in eternal night, I had a lovely meal. No one would come looking for them either, because I didn't kill that last one. I have a plan for him.

The night sky was beautiful and peaceful as I paced myself at a speed just over a falcon's. My twelve foot wingspan extending out to rake the air, then flapping shut sending me higher and faster. I broke above the clouds briefly to view the goddess Luna in all her naked glory, with no clouds to block my view. With a laugh that was loud and full of humor; a laugh I only share with those I see worthy of truly knowing me, I folded my wings and dove. Rocketing down through the clouds; that had been building in this area of the continent, was exhilarating. The raw rage of a building storm, curiously pawing at me as I streaked through it. A few seconds after I exited the bottom of the cloud front, the first brilliant blades of lighting started stabbing down toward the ground. I landed on the ground just ahead of the rain, the space of a human's heartbeat. I made my sharp descent directly above the eastern edge of the forest where the enemy was encamped. The temple they had conquered was closer to this side of the forest, but from this direction I would come up on their rear. I knew all that and how to get here, from the scroll that the guild provided. Their special symbols, are psychically impregnated with the information they thought I'd need. Making these jobs, more than true hunts. The first step to any extermination job, is reconnaissance. Even after my flight here, I'm still feeling full, so I think I'll take my time on this.

The Hunt pt3

A couple of weeks pass by; before I can return that mysterious woman's area, and when I do I'm not especially hungry. For some reason I have gravitated to this area again, I can't think of any reason but her. But the last feed I had was still coursing strongly through my body; he was stronger than most humans, a well trained hunter. His real mistake was; trying to hunt me, sure I was in his territory. I hadn't harmed anyone though and was only there for the wine, those fucking Paladins really know how to kill a good time. So if I'm not hungry why return, it's not like me to chase women. Though I must admit, she was very intriguing. I stayed in the area another month before even catching her scent; this time it was lighter and filled with the spicy smells of being in love, very interesting. This would make her flavor almost impossible to replicate, each time a human falls in love it is a completely unique scent. I tracked it immediately; surprised at my own eagerness, but more surprising was why I was so eager. I wanted to see who she was with, what was I thinking. When I found her, I was a little surprised to see a woman. Was my prey as open as the Greecians, what do they call it today? Gender fluid, or bisexual; something like that anyway. That kind of person is a rarity in today's age.

A Dark Tale of a Father's Revenge. Pt 1

22:42 Feb 23 2016
Times Read: 355

He had always made jokes about what he could be capable of. With different examples of what could push him to such things, and the things he would do to his imaginary enemies. Most the people that knew him well, only laughed cause they were as dark as him. Most people laughed and shrugged it off; completely underestimating him, because of his disability. The wheelchair he had spent his life in created a stigma of weakness, but this wasn't his only life. Some believed in his claims, others didn't. To him it was totally inconsequential whether they believed him or not; he knew someday someone would find out the truth, and wish to all the gods above they hadn't. What he didn't know, was how bad it would be. His daughter, one of the few people in his life that made him feel anything like a good person. Lived in a shitty border town, but wasn't the right complexion. Her beautiful blonde hair and sparkling eyes of colored glass, set her apart from most the people of that valley. Like him before her, his daughter craved adventure; she absolutely loved camping. On her sixteenth birthday she went camping with two of her girlfriends. That weekend was a long one so she had it all planned out, complete with hikes and fishing. When tuesday rolled around and there was no word from her, her mother started worrying.

Blood Lust. Pt1

22:03 Feb 23 2016
Times Read: 358

I was invited here because of the littering of corpses I left on the field; I was hired to fight so I did, all my allies just happened to die, leaving me to continue the slaughter for hours alone. The Vampire Lord that hired me; Terech'Lia was his name, said he would pay me to remain after the war. The money was good, so I accepted. For the first few months; I was far too busy to notice anything or anyone except the enemies, that seemed to manifest from every border and even from within. Soon my sheer determination in finding the rebels within, and the brutality I visited upon them; earned me a little peace. The Lord started to have feasts and games in my honor; he would give me gifts of flesh and blood, as well as weapons and magical artefacts. I couldn't have asked for a better position, but it was still a position under someone else. I had a clan of my own to return to, a kingdom of my own to carve out. But for nearly a century I stayed, because someone had caught my eye; she was slowly stealing my heart as well. Unfortunately she was the Lord's prized possession, his favorite slave wife. She had been taken from another Lord; who Terech' had usurped, the other Lord had been Sima's father. So as I gained more of my employer's trust; because that's all he was to me, an employer. I was thinking of ways to steal her without shedding too much blood.

War Journal: Second assignment.

21:15 Feb 23 2016
Times Read: 360

Upon returning to the Blooded Edge guild's headquarters, I was excited to find an assignment already waiting. I opened the wax sealed parchment, and read the scrolling looping letters used by this guild. My excitement died as I saw what was required of me; they wanted me to exterminate a gang of rouges, apparently they had taken over a temple outside of the Dwarven city Talgolath. They never actually bothered the Dwarves which is why they were still alive, the Dwarves weren't even the ones contracting me. A human merchant guild that has a standing deal with the Blooded Edge, has secured trade with the Dwarves. Now they hear about this small tribe of human bandits, lurking through the thick woods between their caravan and the Dwarven city. I wouldn't be making much on this job, as far as pay went. But the symbols for free looting and feeding brightened my mood, so I turned around and left. Since I just ate last night I had plenty of energy and decided that I wanted to be done with this quickly. With a reflexive burst of energy, my flesh crafting magics reformed my wings in their rightful place. I usually keep their bone and muscle mass spread throughout my body, keeping them concealed. But tonight I would soar on ebon wings to the next hunting ground.

The Hunt pt2

I waited about ten minutes after she left, her scent trail was easy to follow. She smelled like a lot of things, but if I was going to be poetic; she smelled honey and sorrow. A delicious and intoxicating bouquet, with a thousand other subtle notes. Pride, strength, intelligence, ambition, and creativity just to name a few. Her blood would be the best feed I've had in a century at least, I've smelled priestesses less mouth watering. Amongst all the other traits that made her so enticing, she was brave as well. This city is hardly the safest place to live, especially for a woman. There's all sorts of predators out on these streets, not all of them as kind as me. I wouldn't dream of killing such a beautiful ball of black fire, in all actuality she won't even remember meeting me. I've mastered my beast, easily controlling when I stop feeding. My glamour is superb, she'll remember having a great time, nothing to feel ashamed of either. I don't rape my prey. My nose trailed her as my body followed; but I was lost in thought, she was a very interesting woman. I began to realize that she wasn't just brave, she actually seemed oblivious to the obvious threats around her. I was pondering the past that she might have endured to be so careless with her safety; after all, only those have seen hell can walk through flames. As she turned down an ally, two jackals saw her from across the street. They signaled each other quietly and started to follow, I smiled a little. These two human sacks of shit think they can hunt my prey; the laugh almost escaped my lips just thinking about it, the sheer audacity. Perhaps I wouldn't be having a delicious drink, instead I'll just have to gorge on fast food. That's all people like these two amount to, something just to fill up; but otherwise worthless. They entered the ally at a slow jog, trying pathetically to stay quiet. However she just kept walking, only slowing briefly to answer a text. The two gangsters; I found out later that that's exactly what they were, started gaining. I was about half a block from the ally's entrance, but luckily the building on the corner was only five stories. With a quickening of my pace, and a sprinting jump; I landed on it's roof with ease. By the time I jumped down into the ally the two punks were only twenty feet away from my delicious beauty, I landed in front of them silently. Of course they both yelled something like "What the fuck!", but she never heard it. My shadow magic ate the sound and blocked her sight, so even if she had turned around; all she would have seen was darkness. But the two would be rapists could still see me, so for them I dropped my disguise. I grew to my original height; so a full foot and two inches right in front of them, putting me at seven four. But I didn't stop there; the designer jacket I was wearing, which was already stretching at it's seems. Ripped to shreds as my wings unfurled behind me to their full span of twelve feet. The would've screamed but my next trick broke them I think; I embodied my beast, taking on a form of nearly demonic horror. I nearly doubled in size and became monstrous in appearance; with reptilian eyes, a wolfish snout that was covered in thick scales instead of fur, horns that curved up off my forehead, and a long serpentine tail that was tipped with a blade of bone. I however wasn't shocked into silence, so I roared my anger into their faces. Their eardrums burst and if this little market street hadn't been deserted people would've thought they heard a train wreck. I devoured them after that, no one ever found the bodies. After returning to my own form, I sniffed out that delicious woman again. Watching her enter an apartment complex down the road, I chuckled. Oh well if immortality has taught me anything, it's patience.

The Hunt pt1

05:18 Feb 22 2016
Times Read: 377

I tap my fingers to the beat of the music as it pumps through the tavern. The smell of smoke, alcohol, and good food float headily through the air. Those scents accented by the harder to notice smells of perfumes, colognes, fabrics, leathers, and sweats. But even more subtle are the smells of hunger, sadness, lust, fear, and loneliness; that one is the flavor of the night. It's pouring off everyone in waves, it's not a terrible smell; to me it smells easy. I've changed my appearance a little to fit in better, making me shorter; but still tall by the human's standards. They mill about having trivial conversations. But a few interested me, especially one girl who was talking to the third guy in a row about the same thing. Not realizing that she was going to drive him off too. She went on about her bully of an ex, and the guy excused himself politely as he saw a friend; well that's what he told her. She's beautiful, just not exactly tactful when she speaks. She intimidates most these little boys running around pretending to be men, not just with her beauty; her will is fierce and she is a strong willed woman. The "men" of this age lack any form of respect, including self. So it's no wonder she's been trying to meet someone for a week here every night, and still no luck. I decide to watch her a little closer tonight, I have heard her story already a couple times. So I know she's a tough woman, she's smart too; she's sounding more delicious by the minute. Even if we weren't surrounded by pathetic sacks of flesh, she would be a delectable morsel surrounded by kings and queens. She decides to leave early tonight, so for the first time I follow her.

The Honey Sweetness of Love and Pain

22:56 Feb 21 2016
Times Read: 382

She screams as the blade cuts his flesh, not with rage or hate; but with delight. His flesh was offered willingly, what was the pain of the blade compared to the agony he suffered daily. With each line of crimson newly carved into his flesh he smiles happily; through clenched teeth. For her pleasure, pain is an easily paid price. He would suffer anyway, at least for her the pain has worth. So gladly he bleeds, because ultimately he knows. This price of pain and blood will buy him an eternity of pleasure. His dark Queen will supp on his blood, and with new vigor love him forever.

War Journal: First deployment; supplemental

22:34 Feb 21 2016
Times Read: 387

I was leaving Gra'Cia late that night, I just got payed and was anxious to get back to the guild. This job was a little boring honestly, and I hate working with Elves. The road was dark as pitch, which was perfectly comfortable for me. Human travelers usually carry torches and I had none, that should have been warning enough. The bandits came clamoring out of the bushes and from behind boulders, all with blades drawn and glinting in the moonlight. They all smelled human, except the leader. He was an Elf, which was incredibly rare; Elves wouldn't deign to do something as petty robbery. There were around twelve guys and they were surrounding me already, if I wasn't hungry I would have just flown away. When they demanded a toll I just laughed; it wasn't long after that, that I got a decent free meal. Two of the ones behind me had spears that they leveled at my neck as the moved closer. I didn't bother waiting, I sprinted forward straight at the bulk of the group. Leaving the spearmen and their two friends behind quickly, the leader barely had time to draw his weapon before I stabbed a man on his right. My blade pierced through him easily, sliding out his back with silent grace. His face was still confused when he coughed up a lung full of blood. The leader was bringing his hand axe in a brutal arch toward my spine. I spun left pulling the blade out at the same time, the Elven leader was close enough as I made my dodge that I flung his lackey's blood into his eye from the tip of my blade. With him momentarily blinded I went t work butchering his crew, the humans died so quickly before my two blades that I was through five of the remaining seven before they realized they needed to run. The leader cleared his eyes just in time to see me leap ten meters onto the back of one of his fleeing gang. Both blades imbedding themselves into the mans shoulders down to the hilt, carving through arteries and lungs alike. The leader tried to rally his men but the four I left behind earlier had already run and I just killed one of the only other survivors. He turned to run, but I purposely hadn't killed him; so I wasn't about to let him get away. I sprinted after him, after the first few steps I called upon my flescrafting magics to bring my wings back into there place. The flesh on my shoulders bubbled outward as it darkened into black leather, shaping itself into huge black wings that humans always claimed I look like a demon with. But they are all me, not some poxy demonic gift. With one pump and another leap I soar into the air above my prey. He runs through the night, trying to reach the city before I catch him. Even though the city has no love for bandits, it has even less for hunting vampires. But he won't make it; I see him look gracefully over his shoulder as he sprints trying to find me. His Elven neck allows him to look in nearly a three sixty view, and his ears can't hear my feet on the ground anymore. His pace slows almost unnoticeably as I reach the apex of my climb, he comes to the realization with sudden horror. His gaze climbs and he stops all together, focusing on the dark sky. If this had been during the day I would have backed myself to the sun then dove. But at night you always strike from the shadow, so out of the shadow of a cloud I struck. Diving in utter silence I slice through the air at a ridiculous speed. I roar loudly just above him, he looks up just as I land on him with devastating force; the shock and horror in his eyes are ripe. His blood was rife with those flavors, and one other. It was finely spiced with his rage, not at me though. He died mad at himself for foolishly attacking a vampire.

War Journal: First deployment concl.

23:44 Feb 17 2016
Times Read: 402

Standing there on the still chest of his brother, is where the second Troll finally noticed me; only the bride and her lady in waiting remained of the bridal party. While this Troll was smaller; only fourteen feet tall, it was crudely armored and had a huge log with all manner of weapons driven through one end. Creating a large mace of sorts, something I was wise to avoid. Of course it charged with a querulous roar, swinging it's huge weapon wildly as it ran at me. I rushed him in response; crushing another spurt of dark purplish bluish blood from the bloody stump of the larger Troll, as I started my sprint. We would have clashed shortly after that, but two large spears hit it's shoulder mid stride. The creature became distracted briefly by the new wooden appendages jutting from it's shoulder, I didn't waste the opportunity. Within another breaths time I made it to my opponent, driving one blade down through the front of it's ankle I pinned it's left leg. After that it didn't even have time to turn back to face me before I was slashing and stabbing with two handed savagery. I carved it's entire torso into bloody ruin while the two Elves that I left behind finally caught up, they had throne the spears at a distance. By the time they got to me I was already soaked in the Troll's blood and it's guts were heaped at my feet. They stood there in shocked silence as I started to laugh.

War Journal: First deployment cont.

03:38 Feb 17 2016
Times Read: 411

The Trolls had already slaughtered the paltry guards that the merchant had been able to hire, even the knight sent as escort was being beaten into a bloody mess of flesh and armour. That's what was distracting the Trolls when my men were signaling their location to me with chromatic communications stones. But instead of waiting for the rest of us, they attacked. I arrived with my other two soldiers not too far behind, just in time to see a Troll bring the body of a horse down like a club onto one of the Elves that I was temporarily commanding. The impact was devastating and the Elf lay in a broken heap in front of the huge Troll. The other Troll was still distracted by the group of cowering civilians, instead of attracting it's attention I decided to focus on it's bigger friend. I silently coursed magic into my body, increasing my strength and reflexes considerably. Then I drew my swords, two of the finest blades I've ever owned. The long curved blades were made from iron and Dwarven steel, and edged in silver. The blades also were meticulously etched with runes that glowed with destructive energy. Which came in handy during the fight that I was about to engage in. With my recently increased strength I jumped high into the air and brought both blades down into the Troll's back. I slid down gouging huge rents through it's back muscles, thick purplish blood rained down onto my head and back. The big bastard was roaring with pain and turning around to see what attacked him. But I was already rushing between it's legs, even at my height of seven four I could slip through the gap easily enough. The thick trunks of his legs were on either side of me, with slashes that were aimed to hobble the Troll I covered myself in spurts of thick blood again. I stopped after clearing that fleshy archway and turned just in time to see the brute topple. I could see the rage and confusion playing across it's face, wondering why it wasn't regenerating. Fay creatures they may be, but they certainly lack their cousins intelligence in some cases. I wasted no time and rushed back at the Troll before it could get up. But it threw the horse it had been using as a club like a spear, I barely had time to deflect the dead horse, before the second one was let loose too. I didn't have time to deflect this one, it slammed into my shoulder with more force than I was expecting. My shoulder actually broke and I was flung off my feet, I rolled with the momentum bouncing off the ground and skidding backward. I caught my footing, bracing myself after only two flips and a few feet. The spider web of cracks that had spread throughout my shoulder were already retreating in upon themselves, healing completely. I sprang forward with incredible speed, before the Troll realized what was happening I drove my blades through it's overly thick neck. With a roar and a wrench, I pulled the blades through it's neck all the way across. The Troll had it's own roar silenced and it's rage filled face spun through the air. It hit the ground with a wet thud and continued to roll a few more feet.

War Journal: First deployment, Blooded Edge guild.

Times Read: 416

We have finally started out on our first excursion into the foothills of the mighty T'Reknar's Ridge, one of the larger mountain ranges on this continent. Recently these foothills have become overrun by mountain Trolls. No one is clear as to why they're coming down in such large numbers, it makes no difference to me. I am just glad that we are finally leaving Gra'Cia, the city who hired us. (Two other mercs were also hired from Blooded.) Our guild isn't the most powerful or the biggest, but that's why I joined it, it will be much easier to distinguish myself in a guild without any real power houses to compete against. My teachers have trained me for this life for over two centuries, and now I will use those teachings to carve my name into the halls of lords. I was hired to replace a squad leader, this military called them a lieutenant. (I don't give a fuck what the rank is called just tell me how many I command.) My squad was assigned the role of forward scout. I didn't take long till we found the huge bastards, three of my men found them actually. The Trolls were attacking a caravan of a father transporting both bride and dowry to the neighboring kingdom of Roune. I had split my squad up earlier so we can cover more ground. Unfortunately for the three I sent ranging to cover the left flank of the platoon's advance, they found them first.
