The Silver Tongued

They say I court isles of disarray-
While betrothed to miles of madness.
Heed this, as it may be true.
Regardless, friend, I tell to you,
I AM the captain of this ship!
I need not a crew with me.
I am this ships only mate.
This ship also has no anchor.
Since its first and only departure,
it has never; not once,
kissed the sand of any shore.
This mission is far too dear to me,
I have definately ventured far.
Come fire or ice, storm or wind,
This vessel shall carry on.
Carefully Ive charted constellations
That point me daily on my way.
To the very edges of the sea we'll go,
This rustic old ship and me.
Im sure this is where she gallantly waits;
She- my Silver Luna-
that cradles my frail sanity.
Across many oceans of doubt ive come,
Bearing all to be by her side.
I do not want it back, you see,
Without her, there can be no me.
Celestial North star navigation,
Has been my only faithful guide.
Another day has fallen idly by,
A noble causality of this quest.
Humbly i seek this Silver Goddess,
That is always just beyond my reach.
Like a siren her promise lures me.
Tempts and taunts me -
Telling me it needs me.
I see her smoky silhouette appear,
As the sun sinks into its home.
Within moments the daylight fades away,
Her brilliance building strength.
I watch her full moon glisten ,
adore her now emminent shine.
Shes a captivating treasure,
Permanently fixed on an ethereal shore.
Her modest outer light mingles boldly around her,
beautifully venturing out into darkness,
Creating an intricate lace in the cosmos,
Adorned with star light jewels.
Her veil thickens as you follow her lead inward,
becoming whole at the hem.
This,Her silver lining.
The beginning of her physical existence.
Here, her full radiant beauty takes hold.
Every imperfection fitting perfectly together.
Soft, glowing ivory sings out to me.
Shes far more precious than any sum of gold.
Deep inside her mystery is my sanity - im sure.
Ive lost myself in her a million times,
I no longer wish to be found.
Transfixed above me in a cloudless night sky,
My Silver Luna hovers gracefully.
Through the silence i hear her lullaby.
Every star in the universe gathers to listen.
Her light reaches down to me,
Falling upon my skin like silk.
In awe, I swoon below her.
My knees suddenly weak.
I imagine for a moment im kneeling at her feet,
Looking up at her magnificence.
Her prisms wrap around me,
Like a tender lovers embrace.
I breath in her entoxicating aura,
Hesitant to exhale her back into the night.
Sensibility now failing me rapidly.
I want her.
I stand on the outermost edge of my ship,
Fingers loosely holding a ledge .
I find no comforts in lands of before,
Nor sleep on sandy, steady shores.
Its in her arms alone ill rest.
My arms now widely outstretched,
Way past want,
Now beseeching to hold her.
No matter how far ive come,
The distance ive traveled,
Still, shes beyond my reach.
Doesnt she feel my need to love her?
Night after night,
she must not see,
how desperately i seek her grace!
Defeated again by fate,
i gaze now at the sea.
I notice Lunas glowing perfection.
I watch as waves from an icy sea,
Reveal her, then take her from me.
Are you there, Dearest Luna?
Beneath the water, looking back at me?
Her promise of light,
in this - my darkest hour,
Entices me to a watery grave.
She brought herself down for me,
Shes waiting there to hold me.
Im sure now, its my time to go.
My Luna, she has finally come.
I have no tears left to shed,
Nor good byes to be wished.
Ragged ship, you wont be missed.
Theres Nothing here but gravity,
holding my feet where i stand.
Ive chased you for so long Love Luna,
Finally, I fall into your arms.
On impact, eternally im yours.
Make me your dull and tiny star,
As your countless other lovers are.
Wrap me in your silvery gown, Sweet Luna.
Or take me, in your comparison,
as a small and dimmed jewel,
to add to your endless night sky crown.
Forevermore i will live within your song,
And be in your constant glow.
And never will i feel again,
The hollow, cold darkness,
That comes from being below.
