I finally get to go home! I came here in Jan to work for a few months. Two weeks after we arrived COVID hit. As time passed we were told to hunker down; which we did. Starting in August we began to make the request to travel home and we were told over and over 'shelter in place.' Canada was not as bad as America was on the Pandemic front. A few weeks ago we got the word from our Embassy; it's a go! We were planning to drive home (myself and two other co-workers) when Friday we got a call that IHS (that is who I work for) has arranged the testing we will need at the Border; got us tested Friday and we got results back Saturday we are all negative, but they are Flying us home so we do not risk exposure by driving all the way there. So everyone in my group is getting to go home for a while, 26 of us on a chattered plane.
I had to rush to finish Ripley's papers so she can Fly with us. Ripley is a little dog who my best friend here in the States had rescued from being abused. From day one that I was here, she decided to adopt me as her human. My friend already had a dog and when he saw how Ripley had adopted me he asked if when I go home if I would like to take Ripley with me. Of course, I said yes. I suppose all this was meant to be for Ripley to get a good home. I have had her groomed professionally, took her to the Vet for all her shots ( we both do not think she was ever seen by a vet and she is about 6 years old). She is only 8 lbs 2 oz's and she is listed as a Mini Schnauzer by her Vet.
A bit of her backstory is a friend of my friend had gotten Ripley as a Christmas gift for her little girls. She lived with an abusive boyfriend ( that she has since broken up with) who disliked animals. He would kick Ripley and toss her outside. She knew she needed to find Ripley a home before something really bad happens. Thus she knew my friend had a dog and loved animals and long story short he took her and then here I come to stay a few months and Ripley is now mine.
Just got home from the Groomers:
Now she has the best of everything and will always be with me when I travel. It is so hard to fathom how anyone could have abused this sweet little girl. I know in my heart there is a special place in hell for anyone who abuses any 4 legged brother or sister.
I am going home!!!!

Tip of the Day: Remember when you are covering up a dead body to plant an endangered plant on top of it. Then it will be illegal for anyone to dig it up.
Your welcome.

First, put a dead animal 3 ft on top of the body so that if they DO dig up the endangered plant they’ll find the animal and be like “Oops, it’s just an animal. Let’s go home.”
