She stepped into those shoes as easily as if they'd been made especially for her. They were lovely, and made her feel beautiful for the first time in her lonely life. And then something strange began to happen... those shoes began to tingle on her delicate little feet. The sensation soon becoming almost too much for her to bear... and then, she began to dance. Dancing like she'd never danced before... first slowly and methodically, then picking up the pace, ultimately spinning and twirling like a whirling dervish... as someone possessed and completely out of control. Suddenly, she felt a gust of wind, at the same time hearing a horrible cracking sound and feeling excrutiating pain in her ankles. When she regained consciousness, she found herself in a pool of blood... no longer dancing, but, instead, sprawled on the floor. Slowly turning her head to the side, she saw the shoes... those once gorgeous dancing shoes... now covered in blood - her blood - and with her feet still inside them. Confused, she looked up to see the man who had given her the shoes earlier that day standing over her, gripping an axe, and muttering... "I told you if you danced too much your feet would fall off."
