You gave up everything you knew and loved to follow me here. You had no friends or family eagerly awaiting your arrival --- only me. You knew my family and friends would look on you with hostility, yet you came in spite of that. You had no job waiting, you didn't even know if you would be allowed to stay, yet you took the chance. I'm glad you did. You've been terrific. You're always there, ready to lend a hand or let me cry on your shoulder. I couldn't have made it this far without you. Oh sure, we've had our rough spots, and it's true they've been rougher than most, but look how they brought us together. Our lives have been richer, more fulfilling because of what we've been through. If I could re-write the past, I would not. The past has given me the present, which is you.
