Does anybody but me read these things? If you read my ficiton, or non-fiction (in the "Poetry" area for now) would you let me know what you think? Otherwise, I won't put as much stuff up for y'all to read.

You know, I really hate living a literary cliche. Our electric is currently off, having been disconnected earlier this morning. The disconnect notice came with the electric bill, which was delivered - you guessed it - with today's mail.



I know we often run things close. There's often no choice, but I really, really hate surprises like this. My husband knows it too. I dealt with getting the damn thing paid. The juice will be back on soon, today. But dang it! That's $12 that probably needed to go elsewhere.



On a positive note, I got to eat lunch out. :) And I can play guilt free on the internet for a bit, since no one could get through if they were trying to call. Our cordless needs electricity. And anyone who might need to get hold of me in an emergency has the cell number.



Off to play....Bleh!

That last entry really sounds like drivel, doesn't it? But I meant every word. This is an amazing site and being given the opportunity to contribute to it using my odd talents makes me feel good.



Right now I'm in a pretty good mood, as you can see from my writing. Now, the other day, the really short entry? That's what gets written when I'm not in a good mood, providing I have the energy to vent. Usually, it just exhausts me, body and soul.



All of you out there without kids, but thinking about it, make sure you're grown up first. Kids take so much out of you and can wound you like no one else, not even your lover. I love my kids and they are true delights, but there are periods where they just take so much patience and firmness and love. And sometimes, it just goes on and on and on and on that you think you have nothing left. If you're lucky, you find out that you're wrong, tie a knot in the end of your rope and hang on for all you're worth. And then go hug them even tighter.

Cancer has been kind enough to make me a Procurator. Oh happy day, as a friend of mine used to say. I have been happily cruising the internet looking for vampire books, movies, and dark/gothy looking art, jewelry, accessories, and clothing. If I could only figure out how to do this for someone and get paid, I'd be in heaven. I have been known to create bibliographies for no reason other than the topic caught my interest. (Yes, I know, I'm wierd.)



I've noticed the changes Cancer's made around here, at least to the look of things, and it's really nice. Makes you wonder what he does BEHIND the scenes that we never see...



On another note, I get all kinds of great ideas to write about here, which vanish as soon as I sit down at the computer. Don't ya just hate that!

I am so fed up with people who say they believe one thing and then in the thick of it all do the exact fucking opposite!

I know, it's a painful headline but I couldn't resist.

It really does pay to rate things, and to spend time here....I've viewed 3091 pages, and have been online at the Rave for about 50 hours.



Lately, I've been taking the time to read Journals. I always read a Profile before rating it....the same with Portfolios. I think it's the least I can do if I'm going to tell someone what I think. I've only given out, 3 "10s", maybe 4.



No one is perfect, but that's not necessarilly what a 10 needs to stand for. For me it's a matter of how much it affects me, what it tells me about a person, and how easy/difficult it is to read. It might be beautiful, but if it makes my eyes hurt or gives me a headache it doesn't really matter, does it?



For the record, some folks have incredible Journals/Porfolios. And some, well, if you can't say nothin' nice..... But it's an experience meandering through them....

I just added yet another short story to the appropriate section. Let me know if you like it and I'll try to post what happens next.



This story, about Miranda, was originally supposed to be left as it is now...Just the one "snapshot" so to speak. But then friends started to threaten life and limb if I didn't let them know what happened.



There are four snapshots about Miranda now written and I hope to keep adding to them. The tight word count is a lovely challenge to setting mood, character, and the setting. Atmosphere is everything with this particular series and it can be hard to maintain with that small of a framework.
