London
“I need coffee,” Hana whined. Markus rolled his eyes.
“Fine, go get coffee, just comeback to the hotel when you're done.” Hana nodded and left the hotel. Hana walked for awhile and when she was far enough away she pulled out the pocket knife her father had given her and began to twirl it while she walked.
“You're going to need more than a pocket knife for protection in this city.” Someone hissed in her ear.
“What makes you think that's all I've got?” Hana said with a smile. She pulled off her backpack, took her gun out and pointed it at the speaker.
“So scared.” He said, smiling, thinking the fangs would frighten her. Instead, she smiled. The vampire froze. “Why are you not frightened, don't you know what I am?”
“I know what you are.”
“You still smile?”
“Yep,” she responded cheerily. The vampire backed away.
“Who are you?”
“Just a normal girl.”
“Hunter!”
“Psh, I hate the hunters, they're after me too.” The vampire paused and looked up at the moon.
“Wolf?” He asked her. Hana laughed. Seconds went by and the vampire took a step back. “Your eyes!” He cried. He stared hypnotized as her once violet eyes glowed white then turned neon green.
“ No one's sure what I am. The hunters call me the witch.” She said cheerfully. He paused and sniffed the air.
“You smell human,” he said.
“Maybe because both my parents are human and my brother is an It,” Hana explained.
“Too much time,” the vampire said quietly stepping towards her.
“What?”
“Too much time!” The vampire jumped at her and Hana moved quickly and the vampire fell face first to the ground. A loud noise startled Hana, it sounded like a whistle. Hana looked around for the source of the noise.
“What the...” Hana took a few steps back away from the vampire. Suddenly someone put a hand over her mouth and pulled her into an alley.
“Are you stupid? That's a hunter's assistant!” The person said. He moved his hand and Hana screamed so he covered her mouth again. “What are you trying to get us killed!” He cried. He looked around. “We have to get out of here I've got a place not far from here, we can stay there until the hunter gets off the street.”
“Hold on, I'm not going anywhere until you tell me who you are!” Hana cried.
“Shh, there is a possibility there are more than two.” He said. Hana paused.
“More than two hunters?” She asked. He nodded.
“Now if you're that worried about knowing who I am. My name is Vincent Mark.”
“Where is she!” Someone shouted. Hana watched a man kick the fallen vampire. Vincent pulled her against the wall.
“Stay still,” he whispered.
“Vincent again...” the vampire gasped. The hunter pulled out a gun that Hana recognized immediately at the Vampire Killer gun, the same type that she carried.
“You are useless to me,” the hunter said coldly. Hana closed her eyes. When she opened them again the man was standing at the entrance of the alley.
“Come on!” Vincent grabbed Hana's wrist and began running. “Where are you staying?”
“Some fancy hotel, why?”
“That one?” He asked her. Hana nodded.
“Yeah, that's it,” she said.
“We have to get inside, Troy is violent but he's not stupid.” They ran towards the door. Vince reached for the door handle but before he could open it a creature tackled them. It took one look at Vince and threw Hana against the front of the hotel with its paw. It growled at Vince then swiped at Hana The creature ripped open her stomach and slashed at her arms sending blood everywhere, then it stopped and ran away. Vincent turned away from her.
“Damn hunters...” he choked.
“This is gonna take forever...” Hana said quietly. Vince looked at her in shock.
“How?” He breathed. Hana stared at him blankly.
“I guess I must not be human.” She said as she stared at her stomach. Vince watched in awe as it healed. “Give me your shirt,” Hana said.
“What?” Vince asked.
“I can't walk into a hotel with my shirt like this. Give me your shirt.” Hana said holding her hands out. Vince sighed and took his shirt off. He handed it to Hana who quickly put it on. She stood up and reached for the door but paused.
“My name is-” Hana began. All this time Vince had been staring at her face.
“Bella...” He whispered. Hana tilted her head to the side.
“What was that?” She asked. Vince shook his head.
“Sorry, it's just that you look like someone I used to know.”
“Hana. That's my name.” There was an awkward silence that was broken by a cellphone ringing. “Darn it. It's my brother.” Hana pulled out a black Razor with a skeleton dragon on it.

Vincent Mark
“We meet again Hana Turner,” the Hunter said coldly. Hana began to laugh. The Hunter seemed extremely confused. “What's so funny?” He demanded.
“You should like a cheesy comic book villain.” Hana explained once she stopped laughing. Vince began laughing as well. The Hunter laughed as well and pulled out a shotgun and pointed it at Hana The two stopped laughing.
Hana placed her left hand on her ankle and concentrated on healing, hoping the Hunter wouldn't see.
“What are you doing?” The Hunter asked Hana She felt the bone snap back in place.
“Fixing my ankle.” Hana said. She stood up and jumped up and down a few times. “Good as new,” she said. The Hunter pointed the gun right between her eyes.
“I swear I'll kill you.”
“Don't piss me off,” Hana said cracking her neck. The Hunter smiled.
“What can you do? You're just a kid.”
“Oh no, you see that's where you're wrong.” Hana said. “Ready?” She asked. The question was direct at Vince but she knew it would confuse the Hunter. “Set,” Vince grabbed her hand. “Go!” Hana shouted. The Hunter fired but Hana had dropped to the ground. Vince pulled her to her feet and they ran.
When they were far enough away Hana burst out laughing and sat down on the side walk with a grin on her face.
“That's the third time we've done that to him and he still has no clue,” Vince laughed. “and oh no you see, that's where you're wrong. You have issues.” Hana laughed.
“You just now realized this?” Hana asked.
“I realized it when I first met you. A pretty girl walking around the streets of London at night looking for a hunter.” A car pulled up to the curb beside them.
“Get in, Shay just called and told me to find you,” Markus said. Hana's brother paused. “What's he doing here?” He asked angrily. “You know what I don't want to know but since I'm in charge he's sitting back there and you're sitting here.” Hana rolled her eyes.
“It's not like we're going to do anything.” She said. Markus glared at them.
“I don't trust him,” Hana and Vince began laughing.
“The T-shirt thing right,” Hana said, climbing into the front seat of the car. Vince sat behind Hana and kicked her seat.
“Hana!” he whispered loudly.
“What?” She whispered back.
“Here's your I-pod.”
“Thanks.” Hana whispered loudly, taking her I-pod. For the rest of the car ride to Shay's house Hana found new ways to annoy Markus. The car pulled up to the front gate of Shay's house.
Shay's house was huge. It had four floors and over one hundred rooms. Hana even had her own guest bedroom. She often stayed there since her parent's were always gone and she complained that Markus was unfair.
The gates opened and Markus drove in. Hana and Vince climbed out and Markus drove off quickly.
“Wonder why he's so mad?” Hana said sarcastically. Vince smiled at her. Of course, the door opened just as he leaned into kiss her.
“Ooh, what was that?” Trina asked.
“That was none of your business.”
“You said you didn't meet any guys in London!” Shay shouted. Hana and Vince sat on the couch in the basement. The only light in the room was a bright light pointed straight at them. Hana raised her hand.
“Can you speak up? I think a deaf kid in China didn't hear you.” She said with a smile. Shay pointed angrily at Hana
“You don't speak. Wait, yes, speak. I want to know everything that happened in London, every detail.” Hana laughed.
“This is going to be fun. You might want to make some coffee because this is going to take a while.”

The Chase
That was the stupidest thing I've ever done, Hana Turner thought as she ran through the streets of the town she called home. She was a fast runner but not fast enough to out run the immortal. Hana couldn't manage more than a peek at her bloody arm which was probably a good thing, considering how severe the bite was. Static buzzed in Hana's ear and she looked back over her shoulder. She looked back just in time to see the Dear End sign. Beyond the sign was the forest and that was suicide. She stopped at the sign and static buzzed in her ear again but this time it was followed by voices.
“How'd it go Hana?” A voice asked. The creature growled at her.
“Just lovely, we had a nice discussion over tea and cake, how do you think it went?” Hana cried. The werewolf jumped at her and she pulled a gun from her belt and shot it. It fell lifeless to the ground and returned to its human form. Hana looked down at it and collapsed. “Glad that's over,” she said, wiping her face with her sleeve that wasn't drenched in blood.
“Not over yet, Hana, five of them were chasing you at the beginning and only one is here now meaning the remaining four are still looking. Are you injured?” Shay spoke quickly into her ear. Hana glanced down at her arm.
“Just a scratch.” She lied.
“Good now stay alert, there's four more out there and- ”
“ and I feel like I'm about to pass out” Hana interrupted. A male voice in the background startled her. The accent seemed familiar but she couldn't remember why.
“Get back here!” Hana heard Shay say away from the microphone.
“Even Hana can't fight off four werewolves, I'm going to help her,” the male said. She heard a door slam and then she remembered.
It's Vince! Hana thought. She had met him two years earlier in London.
“Hana, earlier after you left some guy named Vincent Mark came here looking for you. He just left to come and help you.” Shay told her. “Who is he?” Shay added.
“The Great Ipod Thief.” Hana said.
“and?”
“Someone I met in London, god, mind your own business.”
“Hana's got a boyfriend!”
“He's not my boyfriend! When I get back you're dead.” Hana said. She ripped the wire from her ear.
“Violent as ever,” Hana looked up to see Vince standing there covering his nose. “That doesn't look like just a scratch to me.”
“Mind your own business and gimme my Ipod,” Hana said holding out the arm that wasn't bleeding.
“How long ago were you bitten?” Vince asked.
“I dunno maybe a hour ago.”
“You're still bleeding?”
“Ipod”
“Hana, you got bit by a werewolf, that's more important than-”
“Give me my Ipod before I shoot you.”
“Hana, don't you think you should be-”
“Ipod. I want my music.” Hana said. A growl behind her made her jump. “How many?”
“Four,” Vince said. “We should run”
“If I could I would.”
“How many shots do you have left?.”
“One,” Hana said without hesitation. One of the four jumped for her and she shot it. “None,” Hana wiped the blood from her face. The other three jumped all at once and the next thirty seconds seemed to last forever. Vince grabbed her arm and pulled her to her feet just seconds before three werewolves got their faces smashed into the concrete.
Before Hana knew what was happening she was running again through the forest, towards the high school. They ran towards the school and Hana opened the door to the gym.
“It's always unlocked,” she explained quickly.
“Nice school,” Vince said, looking around the gym.
“Why are you here?” Hana asked.
“Where's the nurse's office?”
“Answer the question.” Hana said. Vince pulled a chain from his pocket and let it drop to the floor. “No....” Hana said.
“Yeah, He's here, looking for you.” Hana picked up the pocket watch.
“Great, just great, can't he just leave me alone?”
“Apparently not” Vince said. After a long silence he asked again, “Where's the nurse's office. I can't stand the smell of blood much longer.” Vince covered his nose.
The walk was silent, Vince was concentration on not attacking and Hana was trying to figure out what she was going to do about the hunter.
“Which arm?” Vince asked.
“What?”
“Which arm do you write with?” Hana held up the arm with the bite. Vince smashed the glass door to the cabinet that held all the medical supplies and pulled out a roll of gauze. “Sit,” he said, pointing to a chair.
“There's no way I'm letting you do this. I wouldn't trust my own mother to bandage a cut if she was a vampire.” Hana said, snatching the gauze from him. After three attempts to wrap the bite she handed it back to him.
“Who was right?” Vince asked as he wrapped her arm.
“Still me,” Hana said with a grin. Vince ripped the gauze and tied it.
“There.” He said with a smile. There was a long pause and just as Hana began to speak three very angry werewolves burst threw the window sending glass everywhere. Hana jumped to her feet.
“Run!” Hana cried. They tore down the hallway at top speed . Three minutes into the chase Hana collapsed.
“Come on!” Vince said. Hana didn't respond. “Hana, lets go!” Vince took a step towards her. “Hana?”
The wolves got closer, the howling was too loud now, they'd have no time to run now so Vince sat down on the floor next to Hana and hugged her tightly. Three seconds later later he blacked out.
Hana woke to the sound of voices. “She's awake, good, Vince, you think you could carry her to the car? I think her ankle is broken.” Shay said quietly.
“You think, I know. It's not just broken. It's practically shattered,” Hana said weakly.
“What did I say about jumping fences, Hana?” Trina asked. Hana laughed. She had jumped two fences trying to escape the werewolves before Vince showed up.
“Nothing that I heard,” Hana said with a smile. Vince laughed and picked her up. They began walking to the door, but froze when they heard a voice.
“You say there were two? Is this them?” A man with an accent similar to Vince's said. The voice was coming from a nearby classroom.
“Hunter!” Hana whispered. “Trina, Shay get out of here, don't ask questions just go!” Vince set Hana on the ground.
“Do that healing thing,” he said. Shay and Trina dashed for the exit. The word hunter was enough.
“I don't know if I can but I'll try,” Hana whispered. When the door closed a gunshot rang through the hallway.
