I have been utterly Christian until I saw sweet, upstanding 'Godly' folk completely humiliate a gay couple in a public store simply for smiling and trying to pick out something for dinner together. It was wrong, so wrong.
Went the Wiccan route...loved it. Then, studied every faith I could get my fingers and eyes and ears into. I still count myself as a Christian, but no self-respecting, self-proclaimed Christian would agree.
I am not strict in my belief. I am well-rounded and believe 90% of EVERY religion is based on facts and ALL have some lies. If you read the original Hebrew bible (and I live in Bible belt too), God was not in the church or its artifice.
He was in the water, wind, and everything you see, feel, hear and touch. Rome thinks otherwise. Don't believe EVERYTHING you read, it is adapted by every HUMAN who touches it and THEREFORE flawed! Have you ever noticed the similarities in Wicca, American-Indian culture and Hinduism? Probably not...Few do.
If you read the actual Hebrew, Adam and Eve didn't eat a 'forbidden' fruit so much as sample a forbidden ACT with a person he didn't want them associating with...both of them, not just Eve. Get the picture?
And THIS was God's Best and Most Loved Friend...
Honey, the apple never falls far from the tree. You can't tell me one would think to do it and the other never did. I mean, come on? Really...God's closest confidant slept with ADAM and Eve and he wasn't doing something God never thought to do?
