WINTER SOLACE

Times Read: 510
Welcome to the approaching sedative white, The burning Autumn of amber and red, now eaten and absorbed under a carpet of snow, The night sky has pulled back the veil and I see the face of God, Past the street lights and mortuary grounds, beyond the cars that pass by and the light house glaring towards the sea, I remain, I rest, I see and I breath, Breath in the chilled air so black and thick, as it delicately nips at my fingers and scrapes at my nose, I fill my lungs with only the light from the stars, no pollution of the beautiful things before my eyes, All unspoilt and untainted by man.
The black claws of nearby silhouetted trees try to pull me close, long for me to warm there shadow presence, lost in this night of black and white, and creatures of all breed that long for the flesh and long for the leaves, roam in the hedges beside me but dare not come to near, They sense my wrath and my strength and know what I crave beyond the animal in me,
But the thoughts racing in my mind plague my wakened dreams, The images I hold so near sting and hurt to deep, The blood coursing in my veins screams a melody, and my heart beats that longing rhythm saying I long for thee!
Long for the solace within your gaze, the embrace within your blood and the silent calm you bestow over the demon in me, you who calms the savagery.
