I went travelling with Barry on Saturday, visiting a few old haunts and some green, for me; which I’d needed, as my mood and joints would feel better than I felt and, needless to say, I had been right. Before he went home, we stopped awhile at Raby Mere, where the first thing I had noticed was that someone had driven a car through a portion of the Mere, shut off with orange and white tape. We had sat with the window a portion open and, just enjoyed the feeling of the fresh air on our faces, a perfect moment, shared.

'frazzled'...

16:49 Sep 29 2012
Times Read: 824

I had been a frazzled Neil when I got home Thursday: first off had to change trains once at Rock Ferry as there was a fault, perhaps due to the flooding, then... the train before mine was stuck ‘tween two stations, in a tunnel.

So I ended up traipsing thru to town and getting the tunnel bus, with about a thousand others, well it seemed that many.

I had got to voluntary work with ten minutes till doors opened.

It wasn't too busy though, thankfully... we were two volunteers down.

That said, the journey home wasn’t torturous either; but I was wired as hell, into the early hours.

Come Friday morning my body ached and, I’d slept through my alarm. So, I was late to go shopping with Dad: a mortal sin. I’d dashed out of my room, told him I’d be twenty minutes and, was true to my word, I had been. And, much to our total surprise, the lights had been with us, instead of against us, the whole journey.

Once everything was packed away and, I’d had a coffee, I had decided to use the fork to aerate the lawn, where it had flooded during the heavy rain, of late.

Well, put the efforts of Thursday and Friday together and, I was soon ready to drop: but, there was tea to make and, a story to finish writing…

Mathew Wright and the Rolling-Pin

15:44 Sep 26 2012
Times Read: 839

Before typing this, I had to go on a long walk, so annoyed I was, by what I had seen on ‘The Mathew Wright Show’.

There was Lou from of ‘Home & Away’. Some blonde called Georgie and a fellow called Stephen Furst, I think; all panellists on Mathew’s Show

Having returned from my walk somewhat calmer, I’m able to write more objectively than I would have earlier on.

Lou had read his culled articles from the paper, then it came to the long-haired attractive blonde georgie, who read one piece, then there had been the piece that caused Mathew to smirk and ask, “What did he do?” [‘to deserve it, perhaps?’]

She had read a story about a woman saying to her husband, “Close your eyes and, I’ll give you a present?” then, “You want your present, don’t you?” She had then hit him with a rolling-pin. As the blonde finished saying the last bit, Mathew smirked, properly smirked.

Now, I don’t find domestic violence funnt: and, I’m aware that one in six acts of domestic violence are perpetrated against men.

Yet, Mathew found it funny and, sought to say, “What did he do?” As if anything he might have done would excuse a rolling-pin to the face.

Yet, it transpires that the text the wife had been accusing him about were innocuous and, that he’d not done anything wrong.

But, again I add, there is no justification for violence.

At least on the few occasions when I’ve seen The Jeremy Kyle Show’, he has spoken out against such acts of violence toward men; while Mathew Wright smirks and, thinks it funny.

Well to this I am not sure how to respond exactly, but whenever their is an act of violence, say to my husband from me or vise versa, it is usually in a humorous manner and not to be taken seriously.

An Ordinary Day?

01:07 Sep 23 2012
Times Read: 854

Saturday dad found that the Freeview needed re-tuning, again; after I id it last about three months ago. Well, realising how damn problematic it can be, to do manually, I’d originally decided to do it on Sunday and, then I thought on. As I don’t like doing it, it was a good idea to get it out of the way, I decided eventually. And, the thing is, IF I don’t re-tune it manually, my Dad gets Wales, such is the strength of signal that we receive here, from there. Well, last time I’d done it the darn thing took at least four goes, before I got it right, by inputting the details manually. This time it’d taken me fourteen minutes, to acquire all the channels Dad would want. And boy did I feel clever, as I sat back, remote in hand, having accomplished what I’d set out to do. So, after a coffee, I decided I had earned a walk, a good walk, to Azda on the estate, where Dad and I go to shop, to acquire what I’d forgot, ‘Azda Drinking Chocolate’, which I’d forgotten to acquire on Friday. The walk was pleasant, on a blue-sky day and, I having crossed The Common, og green, I met Kevin, on his bike. Now Kevin wears his black hair to look like Elvis, as in Presley and, as we talked I learnt that he was singing in some of the local pubs. And, I recall that he’d told me once, after seeing my stuff on dalymotion with his attractive sister Becky, who once greeted me with a squeal in The Village, “Do you know I decided to express myself after seeing you do your impressions at school?” And, it hit me, as I walked on, just how I had affected someone’s Life, in a fashion. And, having left him in The Village, I continued on into the estate, crossing the mass of green, then got to the Azda. And, having got Mr. Sheen I went to get the drinking chocolate, noticing down the beer aisle to my left, down about the middle, on the right, talking to a fellow, was the psycho hose-beast, with strong cheese-bones, good height and red hair, name of Debbie Shrewsbury Gee, who let go of the trolley in her hand to slip as I passed, so that it just missed my ankles as I slipped passed it then, as I looked round a moment or so later, took for a named beer I might afford, both e fellow and Debbie Shewsbury Gee had gone. And yes, one can have an affect on someone’s life. I recall that one time quite awhile ago it feels, her stopping and talking intently with me, on a tree-lined Bridle Road one afternoon and Now, she hates me. Or, so it would seem any time I am anywhere near her. And I did enjoy the tea that I had made for Dad, cheese on toast, with tomato, of course. Later Barry had called, as I taped Doctor Who, with his laptop, which I’d helped him with. At one point I told him my firs t fiancee’s husband had driven past and waved. I had not responded well, he had been my best friend, till… Anyway, Barry had asked, “Which car was he in?” Then he had told me my ex had crashed her husbands BMW. I was pleased, she was alright. Barry Needless to say, once he had gone, I’d watched what I’d missed, twice, as I had typed of an eventful sort of day.

pleased as punch...

00:36 Sep 22 2012
Times Read: 860

I was on my way out of the church after a really busy night, when I saw Roger sitting on a pew, looking pained; so I said to him, “Are you alright?”

“Broken back…” he’d replied, “it’s no better.

“Snap,” I had retorted, to show empathy.

His reply to that had been, “Yeah sure…”

At that I got pissed off quick, ‘coz there’s a fellow without a medical degree, telling me that I’m jiving, without seeing my x-ray’s, which really cheesed me off goodstyle.

But, knowing how pain affects one, I had let it go… that time.

And, as Roger’s little suck-up’s chated together, I left the church grounds with a smile on my face, as I overheard one of ‘em say to him, “I won’t be here next week.” The other one had echoed her words, both of whom work for an agency I despise.

So, for all their machinations, it’ll be the same dependable heads, like me, who will turn up, to keep the project going.

Well, come the evening I decided to follow Karl’s instructions on setting up a proxy IP for IE but found I could not access Internet Options.

Karl had provided an answer for me, but one that had not worked. And, after quite a few hours of trial and error, I found a way to delete IE8, with SP3, then reinstall it, then low and behold, no problem. So I’d gone to bed feeling pleased as punch with myself.

I’d slept badly.

16:38 Sep 19 2012
Times Read: 863

On Saturday I helped someone acquire a pc I saw in the shops for £59 ... would have been perfect for my Needs... but also his.

So, I recommended it, then put the codecs on for him, so he can use it as a dvd machine [which I want] ... second time I've done something similar.

It was frustrating though. I then spent the Sunday morning gardening, as intended, then had a bath and, a relaxing evening...

Monday was a pain-day, as I described it to a friend. Grant you, I carried on as ‘normal’; but saying that I’ve had few days like it, so for me, it was of note. Then come Tuesday, as I compiled another DVD, of a couple of big films for a friend and, a CD of The Moody Blues album ‘Days Of Future Passed’, which had been pretty well the very first concept album. And, through the day, the rain fell. There’d been breaks during the heavy rainfall, but they were short-lived. What’s more, it’d been like that throughout the day, continuing like that through the night. Lucie had called round in the evening. She had got a copy of the compiled DVD, with the excuse that it’d been for her birthday, or Christmas. She had decided that as her birthday was soon, it’d be for her birthday, in October. She’ll be in Tunisia for her holiday then, hence her discomfort, when someone forwarded her news of current events there, where there’s been a violent response to the anti-Mohammed film on YouTube. It’d been good to see her and, as I had seen her out, I’d said, “Will I see you before you go?” And, after she’d left the rain had fallen once again, throughout the night… I’d slept badly.

She fibbed...

I was in total manic mode on Monday night and Tuesday, with an xray today then I went to on a very rainy day.

It seems that I got fibbed to by the doc. She had told me that it regarding my chest: but when the radiographer read the order and said it was ‘coz I have lost a lot of weight.

If she was right and I have lost weight, it'll be down to stress, lack of control [so back to old habits] or, down to the spine and, pain.

When life got out of control, I controlled my diet.

I am a trained chef, it was easy to do.

I went to the docs Monday afternoon, with every bit aching, a lot.. and, I had effin efffin toothache.

[It's where they put the gold cap.]

According to doctor, the sort of tiredness I’ve had of late can be associated with constant pain.

Anyway, after tea I rested… and, the toothache was… less.

Still went to bed early, for me: after watching ‘Horizon’ with Dad.

And, I was dead chuffed to learn of Andy Murray winning the Grand Slam title. It just tickled me the way a Scot suddenly is acclaimed as British, when he wins something.

effort ... worth expending...

13:07 Sep 08 2012
Times Read: 885

The weather was pretty good on Thursday, so I’d enjoyed a brief walk, to stretch my left shoulder, back and neck. Then I’d got to the project early and, set up almost everything at ‘the door’ on my won. And, we had a pretty busy night, feeding about thirty people and, giving out goody-bags, to each person, of useful foodstuffs. Well, come the return journey home I was more tired than I’ve been for ages. Needless to say, I fell asleep on the train, waking up just after the train had gone through my station, so I’d got off at the next station, crossed over and, got the next train home.

Well, later after I’d eaten, I went on the PC and, woke early in the morning…

I got up early, to go shopping with Dad, on a sunny day. A little while after everything was put away and, we’d had a cup of tea, I went out again, to get one of the two items I’d forgotten, suet for dumplings. Well, after I started another dvd, I’d decided to cut the front hedge, which I felt looked good, once I’d finished. So that’d been effort that was worth expending. Then, I’d helped Dad do the evening meal…

I’ve now finally put all of my ‘True Blood’ .avi’s to DVD

Now, there’s a film I’d have liked to have seen at the flix.

Times Read: 891

Tuesday fourth of September found me waking o to a grey sky and heavy dew on the lawns; when I’d intended to edge the back, when I rose. As it was, the day did finally brighten somewhat, as I’d made my apple crumble. Needless to say, I then got my chance to edge the back lawn, before making the evening meal. Come the evening Lucie called round, to see me and, pick up her machie which I’d worked on for her.

As I said to her, “It’s a pity you’re picking it up now, I wanted to watch a film on it tomorrow with Barry, as it’s better than any of my laptops…”

I awoke recalling a walk had to be had, to pick up my Dad’s med. And though I got achy on the way, it was so pleasant I’d hardly minded and, I got some coffee. And, I got back with plenty of time to do as intended, which had been to set up run the programme reuired to make my new ‘True Blood’ disc, then made my chicken casserole, with dumplings. Come the evening Barry and I watched ‘Smokin Aces 2: Assasins Ball’. Now, there’s a film I’d have liked to have seen at the flix.

2nd September 2012

02:38 Sep 03 2012
Times Read: 904

After a weird nights sleep I awoke on a grey morning, with Dad washing and Barry calling: “Are you coming out?” Of course I’d said ‘yes’, so the journey had begun, using a multitude of roadsigns, to find Wyndsors in Saltney, somewhere in Wales, where he got the footwear he needed and a pair of boots, for me. Then after a good meal and red wine with Dad, I rested awhile. Later, I changed by bedding, ready for Dad to wash during the week, then settled down to watch ‘Doctor Who’.

Saturday the first of September was a sunny day, with full white fluffy clouds amidst a blue-sky, perfect for Dad’s washing day. I had gone travelling, to Andy’s, Vicky’s younger brother. Now I hadn’t seen him in ages and, travelling had been something I’d not done for awhile. Yet that said, I’d said I’d visit, so had. And though I had not stayed too long, it’d be cool to go travelling, much as I used to. And, I got home well in time to help Dad with the evening meal, with the prospect of New ‘Doctor Who’ later on…

“I’ll be back!” ... uhuh.

01:46 Sep 01 2012
Times Read: 880

Thursday night at the project had been had been busy and, fast paced; and, the fellow who was abusive two me several weeks ago, apologised again, only this time he wasn’t kaline, as he had been a week ago. And, it’d been Sarah’s last day with us,; an after losing Chloe last week, I’ll.. I’ll… miss ‘em both. Oth they’re off to Uni, so we’’ be forgotten:. [Though they’ve both told me at separate times “I’ll be back!”... as many have.]

My mind was in hyper-drive later at home and, that’d led ro a very poor night’s sleep.

Well, come Friday morning it was up and out to go to The Azda, with a body that protested. SO, come the afternoon I gave it reason to protest, by weeding the front border then edging the front lawn, to please Mum. While I was finishing off, Dad got the ladders up and went to the roof, to waterproof the lead-flashing around the chimney. I took phot's, of course. as I'm sure people don't believe me when I talk of what he does. That done, I went shopping for prunes, as The Azda’s just aren’t a goody buy, right now. Then at home, I began to cook myy half of the evening meal… After tea, I relaxed, my knees awhile…
