Sylvesters story notes...

12:27 Feb 29 2012
Times Read: 688

The ending for the new Sylvester piece had been driving me nuts.

With ‘The Sydney Incident’ I had to think like a woman: A Latina.

But, having a Pop at the Eighties is one thing, but I don't like writing too many characters, just to do that... I like to set the scene as it were and then let them write themselves... so, I guess the point is, I Need to do some more research later: tho, writing of Chumawumba was interesting.

I don't research too much as I might spoil the character.

Finally I have almost finished my 'research' and written part of 'The End'. Swear down, I’ve only ever had my research faulted once; so never again.

Dave had obliged.

Come Monday, I got the housework done, then went shopping, returning with sore knees and, more than a little pleased that Dad was seeing to the meal; though come Tuesday and a similar occurrence, I ended up calling him an ‘ingrate’ when he said, ‘”There’s too many different tastes on my plate…” I’d done pasta, onion, tomato and garlic, ‘n fish fingers and mixed veg. [broccoli, cauliflower and carrot] and yes, I called him an ‘ingrate,’ particularly when I’d put so much into the meal. Returning home I’d called in at the off-licence to ask Dave the Manager to thump me on my upper back, with the flat of his hand – I’d got a sweet stuck in my throat and, for awhile, I thought… yeah well. Dave had obliged. Come the evening and recording films to disc, I’d watched ‘Ghost Rider 2’ and written. Gawd, I’d waited a lot of time to see this film and, it is what I’d wanted: more of the Ghost Rider, noisier and, made with a bigger budget than the first film, with the Rider capable of far more than he had been in that one. That and, it was visually superb.

I had been impressed.

Come Friday night I went to Karl’s. Amongst all the stuff we talked of, was the fact that all the cinema times precluded me going to see ‘Ghost-Rider 2’ as I wished. So I gave him ten pound, in lieu of the last laptop, and then went trawling on Amazon and Kindle and lo, there it was, my book: I had been pleasantly blasted away.

Needless to say, Dad hadn’t been impressed, though I had been.

prior to making the tea.

On Wednesday I got in from the doctors, glad to be able to say I didn’t need to see her: that said, as my prescriptions kept reminding me, I needed a medical review. So, that I had dealt with by sayin, ‘We know my meds are alright, don’t we… will you take off that coloured tag on my notes?’ We had talked a little more, mainly about my back. Then I went a walk, for a loaf and, fruit and nut Toblerone. And above, there was an omni present grey sky and, twas mild and good walking weather and ... It was the wind that kept the rain away, thankfully. I had got home very tired though, very tired. So, I’d rested awhile, then watched some of series three of ‘First Wave’, while writing, prior top making the tea, a chicken casserole.

‘Underworld: Awakening’ ... interesting, to view ...

23:28 Feb 21 2012
Times Read: 700

Tuesday was spent walking, to pick up another withdrawal form to move another two thousand from the investment account, feeling annoyed no-one told me the Post-Office actually have their own accounts. But, money had got moved on the Monday and, another form picked up on the walk; while I also rectified a mistake from the day previous when I’d made an appointment for Dad at the doctors, ostensibly with the doctor, although it should have been the sister for a ‘well-man’ clinic. But, I’d got myself distracted by a trainee, a blonde… who had listened top me ramble away, telling one of my stories, as I do. Heck, I hardly need the encouragement. But, I’d got it which led to the error and another walk: and, a copy of ‘Underworld: Awakening.’

That’ll be interesting to view….

...then, the autobiography???

15:54 Feb 16 2012
Times Read: 710

I started Wednesday at the Post-Office tring to withdraw my money from my account, to put in a new account, that I hoped I’’d be able to open with Skipton. As it transpired, not only are the Post-Office losing their counter accounts, you have to send of for a warrant to cash over the counter currently. Well, that left me with a form to fill in for two grand, but a couple of quid in my pocket. Thankfully what I had taken along in the way of evidence of identity was sufficient to open a normal account and, they let me open it with a pound. Bit, after all that running around, I wasn’t in a good humour when I got home and, I’d been physically…. Tired.

And then, as I was filling in the form from the Post-Office, the post arrived and a cheque from the Inland Revenue, in lieu of P.A>Y.E. from sometime ago.

After tea I went out. Whilst at Karl’s I self published a kindle book thru Amazon; and considering how long been trying to get my act together, I am proud of myself. My book is ‘on review’. Heck I might never hear from it again; but am working on number two, 'science fiction/fantasy'... then, the autobiography???

February 13 and 14th and lassitude set in.

23:50 Feb 14 2012
Times Read: 713

I awoke after a few hours sleep on Monday, filled with trepidation, knowing full well what the week would bring. I had got the housework done with Dad, then toddled off to go to see the fellow Ingeus, surprised that I haven’t been pushed onto a placement, as someone with workfare should be, after x amount of weeks. Although that said, Keith had phoned me a week or so prior to tell me that I wouldn’t be going on one, because of a dispensation., for which I’m assuredly not complaining. And needless to say, having wound myself up, I was really fatigued, so rested eventually v, very well indeed. Tuesday morning, I went to see about Dad’s housekeeping money and, a new account, for some coin I have. It transpires the Post-Office are losing their accounts, which will be going postal only. So, I needed an account to move the coin to, in the knowledge that I have no formal id; and although I’d probably have what I needed, gardening became my solace, ‘coz I was able. And then, I cooked tea: fish fingers ‘n microwave chips, done by Dad, served with mixed veg. and, a nicely browned omelette. Come the evening I got to see ‘First Wave 2:17’ which I’d wanted to see for weeks and weeks. A friend had acquired it for me; and with series three collected, it’d been really important to see it…

...a busy one.

23:49 Feb 11 2012
Times Read: 719

After a poor nights sleep, I awoke early on Thursday, having kicked my fitted sheet and mattress cover off the bed. It seems that a three-foot mattress cover doesn’t go well with a two foot six fitted-sheets don’t go well together. Anyway. I got back to sleep for about an hour then rose, to have coffee and get on with the housework with Dad. Then it’d been off out with him, as he gave me a lift to physiotherapy in the car, ‘neath a grey sky, as light drizzle fell. And, at the end of Brookhurst Road there were BT engineers working with the pavement up and, a van parked on the corner, making it difficult for motorists to see clearly prior to making a turn, left or right. Well, come physio I had learnt a useful abdominal exercise and, that my time there was nearly up, as to my knowledge you get about three months; yet she did agree to see me again in four weeks, that said. The pity is that realistically what can be done now for me is nil, that is except try and strengthen the muscles either side of my spine. Yet, I’ve digressed again. From hospital I got a bus to Bebington Station, then a train home I’d got a cup of tea and rested for ten minutes or so, prior to leaving again, to go sign on. And, though I’d been a little late, at least their expectations of my timekeeping aren’t too bad of late. Anyway… As I left, the sky had turned proper grey and the drizzle was permanent; an so bad that I’d waited for the passing cars had their lights on. And, by the time I got home the body was tired, as was the mind; and, I still had to go out again, as it being Thursday, I had voluntary work to go to. And, although I’d needed to relax awhile, before leaving the house I never got the chance, as the phone ringing had stopped me from doing so. Yet, that said the night had brought weather that was even worse than prior, as I’d left home and, taken the trouble to leave a footprint in the fresh cement left by the engineers. It had been an act of bedevilment that had somewhat amused me, as the rain feel persistently. And, there had been quite a few new faces at the church door, the one with the new floor, which explained why the place was closed the week prior. And, the night had been as busy as it hasn’t been for awhile and, as I left at the end of the night I’d been truly shattered. Then come Friday, Dad and I went shopping as usual and then come the afternoon I went on a mission, needing to avoid the dying Dell, my favourite laptop. I went out on a really grey day, as a biting wind hit my face, driving a hard light rain. And as walked on and on, every joint in my hips and legs and lower back ached; yet the mission had been completed as I’d been able to eventually acquire what my Father had wanted, microwave chips and eggs: But come the evening my journeying had taken its toll and the aches were pain and that I worked through, to make tea for Dad and myself. Needless to say, it hadn’t just been my knee I had rested ‘for awhile’ after tea. I had slept. I had risen refreshed and just a little sore so wrote awhile, watching ‘First Wave’ as I did so. And then, I had an early night; so no watching the boob-tube, anymore shows, reading or writing, grateful that I had got some done as Sylvester’s muse had returned…

Or… get on with it…

'twas too cold to press the button, so no photo's. It was worse down South according to the News: though cramping fingers made it difficult to count change when I went shopping for Toblerone to munch on with Dad, whilst we watched a documentary about extinction events. Bit, it is as is. One puts up with these things... What choice is there, move? Or, Moan? Or… get on with it…

"Touch wood..."

And, we got the new washing machine: the lack of instruction is driving Dad toward hyper frustration… And Monday afternoon I went ‘t dole, for an interview. It seems now I'm on a work program I have to do a little less, so they say... so I’d needed an update on my contract. At least the weather was pleasant for the journey….

Aye, people should not believe the news it seems, Merseyside and, particularly The Wirral seem untouched by this snow. "Touch wood."

The U.S. expects...

23:32 Feb 05 2012
Times Read: 732

I was awake at 10:30 on Saturday and seeing what the weather was like, I had taken my time to get ready, wearing the necessary two jackets; one favourite brown leathers and, an up to the neck, press-stud fastening blue one, that has pockets and both on the outside and, some on the inside, that allow me access to those of the leather coat. Then I put the leather cap on and, left the house, to face the elements. And, it had been as bad as I’d thought it might be, with pavements that were slippery underfoot, thanks to the biting icy rain, which had somewhat defrosted it. And yes, I had slipped a little at first, until I’d crossed the road, where the worst had already turned to slush. And, as the light biting rain fell on my face I had continued with my mission: “Drinking chocolate, ideally Fairtrade; and my margarine, Bertolli, or Flora.” I’d been willing to travel to the village for what I wanted, but thankfully found them just up the road at the CoOp.

On the way to the till I had stopped to look at the newspaper headlines, as they stood in their rack and the one of the two on The Independent caught my eye, ‘The U.S. expects Israel to attack Iran’. Now there was a headline one never wants to read anyday, no matter the weather…

I totally agree with you. It's not only annoying but it's quite lame. I get why Cancer gave us this feature and that part is very cool. However, it seems like it's shaping up to be yet another feature for idiot users to to go crazy with and ruin their time on VR. I'm very sorry to hear that these honorless fucktards are annoying you. :(

*big hugs*

So I walked into...

15:33 Feb 02 2012
Times Read: 740

So I walked into the local Thoroughgoods, encountering the Siberian chill on the walk there. As I walked through the door, a fellow on one side of the shop were on their mobile phones. “No chance of avoiding microwaves….” I said. “That was random…” the fellow behind the counter had responded. Then, my glance from one to the other clued him in and he retorted with a grin, “No, I guess not.” And, I’d only gone in for milk. But, that had led to a conversation about how annoying people can be with them on trains. And, the milk and eggs they sell at our local Thoroughgoods off-licence have gone up in price. Not much, but they have. The fellow had apologised for the increase than once; and each time I just smiled and said, Okay’, after all, what else can you say now? That said, getting our milk and eggs from there is still cheaper than going to the CoOp or Azda for it.

And once more, I’m reminded how darn lucky I am to have the doctor I have. I’d gone in there to talk, no more, as she has told me I can do. And, as I’d sat down and she’d asked my doctor had asked me how I was. “Less desperate, than the last time you saw me…” I’d told her in answer. And, she was right when she said, “I haven’t seen you like that before…” I hadn’t been like that, that needy, for a long, long time. But, there I had been and, back then I’d not been able to talk, ‘coz of the young doc being there. This time had been different, yet my mood had been lighter. As I figure it, the reason had been simple; she had gone out of her way for me, so that I could talk, nay ramble of my pains, both physical and emotional and, she would listen. Properly listen. And boy, did that mean a lot to me, as I’d walked into her office, with a light smile on my face.

almost all the time…

14:00 Feb 01 2012
Times Read: 743

Dad has finally admitted he can't fix-it anymore, so a new one will be here at the weekend. As to the roof, it seems that courtesy of a neighbor having it done, he may have found a company to do the roof... so ideally, he has given up going up there. I think he is only doing it as he recognizes I don't know half what he does and, I want to stay on here, when he's gone.

Meanwhile, this Siberian chill is really getting to my joints… and, I feel tired almost all the time…
