As a child of eight or nine I was traipsed into the schools main hall, by Sir, who then went away, telling us to be quiet.
There’d been all of us sitting cross-legged, most in short and grey-pleated skirts, as he brought in a tv, oin a wooden cabinet, on a very tall stand, then plugged it in.
And, with a few other teachers around where we sat joining our bemusement, the fellow had turned the open the doors to reveal the television, which he turned on.
And, as the black and white image flared into life, we sat entranced, as we heard the fellow in the bulky white suit walk down the steps and say, “That was one small step for man…”
And for a moment, the world was as one, as we held our breath in wonder, because a man had just walked on the moon.
Now, that man has taken his greatest step…. And, in tribute, President Obama called him ‘America’s greatest hero…’ In that moment, he was a hero, for the world.

Winnie Johnson, the Mother of Keith Bennett died, 18th August 2010 age 78
For forty-eight years, she searched for her son on Saddleworth Moors, where he met his end, at the hands of Myra Hindley and Ian Brady. She failed in her search, to find solace through his Christian burial; yet her family have said, the search for Keith Bennett will not end, with her death.

Moors murderer Ian Brady has revealed details about where one of his victims, 12-year-old Keith Bennett, is buried, police believe.
Greater Manchester Police said in a statement that Brady had recently given details of the location of the body to one of his long-term visitors.
The force added that a 49-year-old woman has been arrested in south Wales on suspicion of preventing the burial of a body without lawful exercise and remains in police custody for questioning.
“I trust his Mother Winnie is well enough to appreciate this.”
" You Don't Know What You've Got (until You Lose It) " [Ral Donner]
You don't know what you've got until you lose it
You gave me you-your love but I abused it
And now I'm sorry for the things I didn't say
'Cause I know now I acted in a foolish way
(Oh yeah) uh-huh-huh (oh yeah) oh-oh-yeah
You don't know what you've got until you lose it
You gave me you-your love but I misused it
I never knew how lonely loneliness could be
And now I need you, dear, as you once needed me
(Oh yeah) uh-huh-huh (oh yeah) oh-oh-yeah
So now if you'd come to this lonely heart you own
I'd give you all my lovin' like you've never known
(Bung, bung, bung, bung)
You don't know what you've got until you lose it
You gave me you-your love but I misused it
And now I'm sorry for the things I didn't say
'Cause I know now I acted in a foolish way
(Oh yeah) uh-huh-huh (oh yeah) oh-oh-yeah
(Oh yeah) uh-huh-huh (oh yeah) oh-oh-yeah

"Wicked Game" [Chris Issac]
The world was on fire and no one could save me but you.
It's strange what desire will make foolish people do.
I never dreamed that I'd meet somebody like you.
And I never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you.
No, I don't want to fall in love (This world is only gonna break your heart)
No, I don't want to fall in love (This world is only gonna break your heart)
With you (This world is only gonna break your heart)
What a wicked game to play, to make me feel this way.
What a wicked thing to do, to let me dream of you.
What a wicked thing to say, you never felt this way.
What a wicked thing to do, to make me dream of you and,
I want to fall in love (This world is only gonna break your heart)
No, I want to fall in love (This world is only gonna break your heart)
With you.
The world was on fire and no one could save me but you.
It's strange what desire will make foolish people do.
I never dreamed that I'd love somebody like you.
And I never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you,
No, I want to fall in love (This world is only gonna break your heart)
No, I want to fall in love (This world is only gonna break your heart)
With you (This world is only gonna break your heart)
No, I... (This world is only gonna break your heart)
(This world is only gonna break your heart)
Nobody loves no one.
My Eyes Adored You [Frankie Valli]
-peak Billboard position # 1 for 1 week in 1974-75
-Words and Music by Bob Crewe and Kenny Nolan
CHORUS
My eyes adored ya
Though I never laid a hand on you
My eyes adored ya
Like a million miles away from me you couldn't see how I adored ya
So close, so close and yet so far
Carried your books from school
Playin' "make-believe you're married to me"
You were fifth-grade, I was sixth
When we came to be
Walkin' home every day over Barnegat Bridge and Bay
Till we grew into the me and you
Went our separate ways
CHORUS
Headed for city lights
Climbed the ladder up to fortune and fame
I worked my fingers to the bone
Made myself a name
Funny I seemed to find
That no matter how the years unwind
Still I reminisce 'bout the girl I miss
And the love I left behind
CHORUS
(My eyes adored ya)
All my life I will remember
(Though I never laid a hand on you)
How warm and tender we were way back then, whoa, whoa, baby
(Like a million miles away from me you couldn't see how I adored ya)
Oh, the feeling, sad regrets
(So close, so close and yet so far)
I know I won't ever forget ya, my childhood friend
(My eyes adored ya)
(Though I never laid a hand on you)
(My eyes adored ya)
(Like a million miles away from me you couldn't see how I adored ya)

I was on my way back from a walk, when I spotted most incongruous sight. The post office fellow in the little red van had the doors at the back open, as he gave a bag or so to the roundsman. The fellow delivering the mail in the van was in his high-vis waterproof’s, while the roundsman had his shorts and shades on. And, there’s no doubt about it, the postmen who delivers to your door is a hardy individual.
Went on a walk, on a Toblerone hunt, for my Dad. On my return, I had the padded envelopes, that I needed.
I do like buying padded envelopes; it means, I’ve finished a project.
And, it means that finished project is ready to send off, to the person I’d made it for…
Depression is a funny thing; not funny Ha-Ha, but kinda funny damn weird. First off, it doesn’t take much to set it off. Then, when expectation is not met, it’s exacerbated somewhat and, then one is left with naught but an aching maw inside. And that hole cannot be filled. Grant you, distractions do help; but not enough, never enough.
cut in two. use half. place the other half in a ploy-tub [washed out marg tub] and, place in fridge. keeps for about five days and, is still crisp... well, I can guarentee the five days bit. but have no knowledge after that, as haf an onion never gets wasted in our 'ouse.
