What is knowledge? Is it what you are told, or what you deep down inside have known all along?

Good philosophical question to ponder. Indeed I remember we discussed this in philosophy.
The language meaning of it is, what you learn, experience. But then is there any information you are born with it? There are are some philosophers who believe yes. Like how a baby knows that in order to gain his mom's attention they have to cry? It is instinct yes, but how does the brain know that, where does the instinct come from? No one teaches a baby to cry, then how do they know they have to do it?
It is something interesting to debate about.

The baby also lives in the mother before it is born. The real question is, do they show instinctive action in the mother as well?

There are different types of knowledge if I might throw in my input.
Genetic knowledge/genetic memory
Instinctive knowledge
learned knowledge
forced knowledge
Inherent knowledge

As for the second questions: I think so, in effect it moves.
