The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

I need some input about a situation I'm currently involved in. This has to do with the game I play and the people I interact with.



I have a friend who has a history of shit talking someone that she used to consider a friend. She would rant like crazy on vent about her. Now they are back to being buddy buddy. We shall call this friend Ari.



That "friend" of hers was a friend of mine. Here is why she isn't anymore.



Let's call this friend Tails.



Her and another "friend" were in my guild. (For those that don't know, my guild is run by a council that has 5 members. We all share the leadership role equally.)

Well, a few months ago, they started to act up throughout the game, giving our guild a bad name. I messaged them privately and asked them to stop, giving the reasons why. A week later, I post on our guild forums about the situation (blanket post saying "don't be a douche). I finally got fed up when I got a message on MSN from a friend. It was a chatlog of how these two were acting.



So I called them out in guild chat. A few days later they both left guild, citing that they were "quitting" the game. The guild has 5 rules. Here are two of them:

- Maintain personal honor at all times. No cheats, hacks, exploits, or similar manner of foul play will be tolerated.

- Be courteous to your guild-mates, civil to your foes, and work to further the enjoyment of dofus.



Basically those rules translate into "don't be a douche". They acted like douches.



Fast forward a couple months. I'm super duper busy with finals and other stresses. During the past few months, I would log for a second to feed my pets and log off. One weekend I finally had a weekend to just play a bit and relax. So I go and run 8 characters through a dungeon. When I run 8 characters, I tend to miss messages on a couple of them. It's just the nature of how that works.



Tails had messaged me, all she said was "hello". So I responded with "I'm in a dungeon on 8. Can we talk later?" Seems reasonable right?



Later that day, I'm sitting around chatting, and Tails shows up at the map. She starts to private message me about how I hate her and how she wants to rejoin guild. So on and so forth. This girl has a loooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnngggg history of twisting words and putting words in other peoples mouths.



So! I respond to her message in public chat. Why? So there was someone else there as witness to what I said and it couldn't get twisted around. I didn't trash talk her, I simply told her that I've been busy and I'm sick of her twisting my words into shit that isn't true.



Her response? Well I knew you would be the only reason I couldn't rejoin guild. Fine. She must have missed the last rule for guild.

- Joining Einherjar is permanent. If you do leave, there's no guarantee you will be let back in.



She left because she got pissed off that I called her out for breaking the rules. Now she wants back in? She couldn't follow the fucking rules, she won't be let back in. Plus, she would need full council approval AND 2 longstanding guild members to approve it. Sean, my loving boyfriend, has been in the guild longest. He already said she wouldn't get back in. That was him, not me. *shrug*



Now, things are fine and dandy for a few days. Then Ari messages me about how I went off on Tails in public. Saying it was wrong for me to do that. Yet she can trash talk her in vent and it's ok?



So here is where I'm confused. I love Ari as a friend, but I don't feel what she is doing is right. Should I call her out on it or should I just let her do what she is doing?



Yes, I already lost one friend because I was sick of her bullshit, but is it worth losing another?



I'm so lost here.



Sorry for the novel...I need to get it off my chest. I've been playing alongside these two for almost 5 years. It bugs me.
