We are considering the island tour on the shore excursion page, but then again we may just get off the ship and check out the fort with the "60 steps".
We also might just stay on the ship.
Nassau is not our favorite place!
man.. where do you go KCRC that makes it your favorite place? I avoid the city at all costs. Its always so hot because of the sheer number of buildings and lack of a breeze.
Ummm, Z.
I think he said that it is not his favorite place...
:)
That's OK .
Yes it is NOT my favorite place!
For the reasons you state, and the sheer number of local vultures hanging out at the exit of the cruise pier waiting to pounce! Trying to get you to go on a buggy ride, braid your hair, go on a taxi tour etc. And the "Straw Market" wa more of a "Tarp Market" with a bunch of crap made in China or Thailand that they try to pass off as "local Island Crafts".
UG!
Sorry for that. I guess I shouldn't expect a check from the Nassau tourist board!
Well.. I know I will be doing a shore excursion of some type in nassau. IT really is the only way to enjoy it. Jon and I were there in May 2007 - and it was horribly more expensive then the states.
Now.. this is the first morning of the cruise.. Day 2.. (Embarkation days counts as day 1 everyone). If there are alot of people that would rather stay on the boat.. I can reserve a lounge or something.. and set some music aside.
the horseback sounds fun...I know Jason is gonna try to dive at all of the ports we stop at but I don't know about Nassau, since we are not there for very long.
so, what is the best way to sign up for the shore excursions? And has any one been on some of them in the past, what are the good ones? So paranoid still that Im going to pay a fortune and just end up around local crap shops o something
And Tony doesnt do horses, he's afraid hs too big or something
There is a link to the shore excursion site in the "Shore excursions are here" thread.
Z has contracted with a very reputable shore excursion provider. The excursions appear someone better than, and less expensive than those offered through the cruise line.
Most of us used shoretrips on the 07 Gothic Cruise.. our only problem was Freeport, and the way Freeport is designed.. we couldnt find our greeter. However, we simply went to the info both, showed them our confirmation.. and everything was fixed after that.
The trips themselves are really well organzied and with knowledgeable tour guides. What really drove me to use them again for 2008, is their ability to quickly solve a problem that arises during an excursion. And that is crucial.
We used Shoretrips for ours, and they were fantastic!! I will admit that I didn't know we had a choice - that there were trips available to be booked on the ship. But we saw people on those tours, and ours was way more kick-ass! I highly recommend them, too, for the outstanding professionalism the guides provided.
