Is their a difference between the Supernatural and the Occult. Does one overlap into the other.
Though I have only just started my classes on spirituality I'm going to give this a shot but keep in mind this is an opinion. I believe that the supernatural is that which defies logical belief. That being said that is how religion came to be so by that logic they do overlap. However there are likely things that have not been explained by science or any religion occult or otherwise but that is not to be say they will not be claimed or labeled by one later or that a new religion or spiritual practice won't form around them so I believe they are separate yet also overlap. I apologise if that made no sense or was confusing.
Yes and yes.
Supernatural is that which is beyond the understanding of science. The Occult is belief and/or practices involving or relating to the supernatural.
The border between supernatural and natural is kind of blurry from my standpoint. If something is real and exists, isn't it just natural? Occult knowledge and metaphysics is all about supernatural phenomena and the nature of existence. There is a lot of overlap with science, and a lot of pre-modern scientists have been occultists.
In order to fathom both sides of the coin, one must be able to discern fact from fiction and study each side of the coin on its own, as a standalone study. There is no use comparing and contrasting if one does not have advanced knowledge of each side of the coin.
