I read an article recently referencing predictions about the world 3000, and how the world may actually be. I wanted others on here's opinions. Below is a list of predictions the author has come up with.
List of prediction of the future world
1 Life extension to 400 years will be achieved.
2 Population control will be absolute
3 Sex is virtual and only for fun…too risky for real reproduction.
4 Artificial womb could allow babies to develop outside the mother’s uterus.
5 Human interfaces are plagued with artificial viruses due to early sabotage and competition between OEMs like Ford and Microsoft.
6 Artificial Viruses mutate to a form viable in biologicals in 3000
7 The Bio to Artificial transmission of disease quickly follows
8 Year 3000: Quantum inoculations rid the world of all disease
9 Problems such as starvation and extreme poverty are gone
10 A world republic of governments evolves from the corporate-government mergers of the 2100s.
11 All babies are implanted with or are genetically programmed with a variety of interface modes: this includes person to person, person to community, and person to International and Interplanetary Net interfaces.
12 Some humans are more artificial than biological.
13 All devices and environments are controlled by simple will through the Artificial Environmental Interface
14 A consciousness emerges from the neural-network of all people and things [which refers to itself as The Big Kahuna, or simply The BK] that consumes our minds without us ever knowing. We have taken the next step in evolution. Each baby born is but a new node on The BK network. The BK directs its own evolution which progresses at an exponentially increasing rate…
15 A time machine is built and tested. The southwestern United States is a complete loss.
16 Space elevators are free to use.
17 Space Warp technology exists but nothing can survive the trip. This does lead to an interesting type of fax machine though. Teenagers love sending mice though these things.

The way technology is going, can be possible to achieve these predictions. The only problem that I can see is if Humans don't destroy itself before everything happen. So far, is OK, but, who can predict what the "Lunic" people will do, like the north Korean Dude.
Human's have always tried to predict what the future will be like, it's really nothing new. Just look back at how people in the past predicted the 2000s would be, and you will see that their predictions then were far more advanced than we really are today or they were far more bleak. My advice for humanity, is to stop focusing on the future or the past so much and just focus on the here and now...and maybe, just maybe, then we could fix a lot of problems that exist right now in the world for a better future.
A few of these we are already close to achieving, so to say that we will have them in 1000 years isn't really a prediction as it is common sense.

Actually George Orwell's book 1984 wrote about how things would be like in the year 1984. He wasn't that far off and I do recall a song that my parents like to listen too called "In the year 2525" by Zager and Evans
Not that far fetched or even far away for that matter. We have advanced in the technological realm to a rather scary degree.
I swear the "List of prediction of the future world" is a description of a real world version of the Borg from TNG.
I doubt we will be that advanced. As an unwise, combative, self serving, and willfully unobservant species, we are far more likely to have declined in advancements. We will likely focus much of our attention on "band-aiding" our crumbling social systems and our dumbed down minds. There will also likely be several wars going on over a lack of resources or the hoarding of resources.

That was a really interesting read. The only issue I can foresee is if humanity doesn't destroy itself before such progress/evolution can be achieved.
I can see most of the space related predictions coming to pass but not the AI ones.
The life expectancy prediction will only happen for those who believe that it will.
Non believers may be left behind while others accept a new consciousness- in which ANYTHING is possible.
