Alright speaking of legends and folklore tales. I have reviewed the forums and never found anything about a upir or umpyr. A European folklore, a vampire species once believed to be real.

A former member of this site would have been able to discuss this quite well since he named himself after it.

I am a little rusty on this but unlike hollywood vampires, they could walk around in the daylight, something even traditional folklore vampires couldn't do as they would become inanimate during the day.

Upir is Russian in origin I think. I heard them be described as werewolves as welll, The upir simply has vampiric behavior but may be something else altogether, they were also said to consume their victims hearts and the females would lure people away from their god similar to a succubus.

Other names for it are Opir, Opur, Upier and Upyr.
