Vampire Frogs

In 2008 a Vampire frog was discovered in the jungles of Vietnam. The scientific name for this flying frog is Rhacophorus vampyrus. It is only 5 centimeters long and is only known to live in the southern cloud forests of Vietnam. It has webbed fingers and toes, which actually helps it to fly.
This frog is unique in many ways. For instance it doesn't have a need to ever go down from the jungle canopy to the ground because it has everything it needs in the canopy. It even lays its' eggs in water pools in tree trunks.

In 2010 scientists discovered the tadpoles had fangs. This is unusual since all other known tadpole species have a beak like structure, not black curved hooked fangs. They don't really know why the tadpoles have this feature. But they speculate it is to slice open their food, which is other frog eggs the adult lays down for food.
