Moonlight is an American paranormal romance television drama created by Ron Koslow and Trevor Munson, who were additionally the executive producers along with Joel Silver, Gerard Bocaccio and Rod Holcomb.

The series follows private investigator Mick St. John (played by Alex O'Loughlin). Mick was turned into a vampire by his wife Coraline (Shannyn Sossamon) on their wedding night fifty years earlier. Presently he is struggling with his attraction to a mortal woman named Beth Turner (Sophia Myles), his friendship with another vampire Josef Kostan (Jason Dohring), and his dealings with other vampires in Los Angeles.

The show was produced by Warner Bros. Television and Silver Pictures. Originally titled Twilight, the series was commissioned by Warner Bros. Television as a presentation lasting only 14–20 minutes. The project was renamed Moonlight when picked up by CBS.
