The Message Center
Folders
All members have 7 message folders for storing messages: Inbox, Groups, System, Society, Saved, Sent, and Trash.
Inbox is where all new personal messages arrive. The number of messages that this box can hold is unlimited, but you can only view up to 15 messages at a time.
Group messages are sent by Group administrators.
System messages are group messages sent by Vampire Rave Administrators or others in positions of authority at Vampire Rave. You should never reply to messages in your System folder. This includes starting a new message to respond to the message author.
Society messages are public messages sent by Vampire Rave Society Masters. You will only receive Society Messages if you belong to a Vampire Rave Society.
Saved messages are messages that you have moved from other folders. These messages are exempt from automatic deletion.
Currently there is no limit on the number of messages you can have in your Saved folder. All messages not in the Saved folder are subject to automatic cleaning. Messages older than 1 year are automatically deleted each night.
Sent messages are copies of messages you send to other members.
Trash messages are copies of messages you delete.
When you delete a message from any folder by any means, it is moved to your trash folder. Messages in your trash folder older than 30 days are automatically deleted each night.
If you delete a message in the Trash folder, it is permanently deleted.
Special Note
If you click the Delete All Messages link at the base of the Message Center page, it will delete all messages from the folder you are viewing. It does not just delete the 15 messages you are limited to viewing, so use caution when clicking this link. There is no confirmation screen.
Messages are moved to your Trash folder. If you click Delete All Messages in the Trash folder, all messages are permanently deleted. |
