I am so happy n' singing as I pack my bag to go on this Halloween adventure. Must say 'tho I am a bit in awe of it too being there with professional ghost hunters in such a supposed haunted place. Yes, I am a skeptic..maybe I am nervous of actually seeing a ghost and having to believe in them after all! *bites lip* am I scared..? I don't know..I have mixed feelings on that. I know I am happy..yea that is what counts and I can't wait to get to the Castle for this adventure :)
A mignight Seance Mass..it will be my first. I don't really believe in doing things in half measures do I? what with having the first one in an ancient Celtic circle of stones burial ground. Yes! I am scared! - ghost haunting later in the creepy places...I feel I am going to have the Bejesus knock out of me! Eeeeeeeeeeeekkkk! You guys are gonna hear me scream in America!!
Teehee, silly thought ...I couldn't get a reply at the Castle Hotel today until after dark - whats that telling me? Creepppyyyyyyyy!

You are so lucky I would love it.
For those of you who wondered what the lipstick thing was all about (considering it had a load of unidentified hits) I wouldn't want to keep you in suspense, so here you are!
COMMENTS
That idea of lipstick makes my trousers shorten.
That's a bold statement for this site, lol .. I can see a load of guys with their hand on their hips tutting at you..lol
Teehee, I love tut-tut guys..bring it on, and I bet they wear lipstick too! :)
More Tough Questions about the Christian Faith by Josh McDowell...this time I feel a bit of Noah and the Ark coming up! However I am moving all the Bible chat to the "Thoughts" section of my journal..
I feel like a kid because I am home on a Saturday night at 9.30pm! Truth is, I am off to England tomorrow to attend a course on being an, "Expert Witness" for the Defence in a Court of Law.
This course is different because my Father and his wife are flying over with me... and I am excited about spending some "quality time" with them both even if it is only for a couple of days in the evenings after class. I feel honoured they both decided to come with me :)
The class is with my Professional Body in Leicester, England.. I think it is prettier outside the town than in it..but then I will not be looking at the scenery much!
A person can be sincere, but he also can be sincerely wrong. The Bible says there is a way that seems right to a man, but the end of it is the way of death (Proverbs 16:25)
There are many cases each year when someone jokingly points a gun at someone else, sincerely believing it to be empty. The gun goes off and the other individual is killed, with the person pulling the trigger saying, "I didn't know it was loaded."
That person might be 100 percent sincere in the fact that he did not want to harm the other individual, but he was sincerely believing something that was just not true. Sincerity is not enough, if the object of belief is not true, then all the sincerity in the world will not bring that person who had been shot with the gun back to life.

God would absolutely accept. It's all about intentions. I believe this, as I would never blame a child for a parents divorce just because one of the parents didn't want a child.
There's always a chain of events, but it's all about intentions.
Yes, I think motive is all.
So belief that the gun was unloaded changed nothing about the outcome. Perhaps because belief changes nothing? I'm hunting for an example where belief changes reality.
Then again, belief can alter our behavior. If not for sincere belief the gun was unloaded, it wouldn't have been pointed at a person in the first place, would it?
Of all the stories in tne Bible, this one is the hardest to swallow for most people and skeptics have a field day making fun of the story of the man who was swallowed whole by a whale and lived to tell of it after three days and nights in the whales tummy.
2 Kings 14:25 refers to Jonah as a historical figure and Jesus Himself treated him as historical relating that Jonah was a prophet, whose preaching resulted in the people of Nineveh reprenting. Jesus even compared the story of Jonah to His own death and resurrection, "For just as Jonah was three days and nights in the belly of the sea monster; so shall the Son of Man be three nights in the heart of the earth. The men of Nineveh shall stand up with this generation at the judgement, and shall condemn it because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and, behold, something greater than Jonah is here" (Matthew 12:40, 41, NASB)

I don't believe it, and hardly anyone in my church believes this actually happened :) Even my priest believes this was a parable, a short allegorical story designed to illustrate or teach some truth, religious principle, or moral lesson... And Jesus was the king of parables :)
...adding to that, believing it is a parable doesn't mean Jonah was not a real man that was tested and challenged by faith- we (my and my fellow Theologians in school) believe this was a parable of his journey :)
yep I agree with Heidi - early texts were highly metaphorical because of the lack of literacy and general experience of the people to whom priests were trying to communicate. It is easier to get a point across via an allegory or a striking image.
that would be *me* and my, not 'my and my'. Yeesh :P
I like to consider all possibilities..yes, Jesus was an originater of parables but consider the implications if the Jonah allegory were true...
On a footnote; in the 19th century a man named James Bartley is known to have survived a day and a half inside the belly of a whale before being rescured..
Yessh my fingers too Images.. that was meant to be originator! I just knew you would leave a comment heh, I must write more things about the Bible to keep you commenting here!
It certainly wouldn't bother me if it were true :)
Emaerald Slaps! and rubs her hands together...I just hit the delete button on a whole load o' rubbish. That felt soo good, maybe I should do that a bit more often! :)
I am off to Leicester on Sunday for a couple of days :) Law studies wtih my professional body but I have made sure I get some quality time with my father as I talked him and his wife into coming to :)
Last night I took Dad to see, "Taken" starring Liam Neeson. What a brilliant action movie that was although some of the stunts could of been pulled out of a Christmas cracker. I sat gobsmacked and riveted through-out the entire show..

Good movie...Although he was slightly brutal. "Where's my daughter!?" *shoots*

Although Autumn used to be my favourite time of year, it now reminds me of death and the dying. How, I long for Spring to come around where once again I can smell the growth of new life and the happiness that surrounds it.
COMMENTS
I am a winter person.
Autumn is my least favourite time too, I also look forward to the Spring, inbetween is Christmas which helps.
The thing I like most about winter, is the love everyone has at Christmas :)
What is this? The Court of Henry Tudor?

No, it's Sesame Street, silly! :p
haha, Bones that is one of the funniest comments you ever left me!
I was very dissapointed in this evenings episode of Little Britain USA. The only funny bit was the dog in the park and the old lady, but I was pretty much peeved at the rest of the show. I thought it just went too far, over the top..
I believe if any of us had paid for a product or service, the majority of us would expect it to be in proper working order. If it is not, then you would expect appropriate customer service and after sales care as a-matter-of-fact and in particular if you are a good customer. Communication is a must and essential for any reputable business.
ITN - Tuesday, October 7 05:59 pmA Londoner who was shot for wearing a Barack Obama T-shirt has spoken of his terror.
Data administrator Dube Egwuatu, 36, needed hospital treatment after he was shot three times with a ball-bearing gun.
Mr Egwuatu was attacked as he tried to buy a mobile phone card at an off-licence in Upper Norwood, south London, on Sunday afternoon while wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with an image of the black US presidential candidate.
A man confronted Mr Egwuatu inside the shop and launched a volley of racist abuse before chasing him with a Staffordshire bull terrier.
The victim ran to his car and tried to drive off but the attacker, described as 6ft and with short hair, attempted to climb in through the passenger window before pulling out the gun and shooting Mr Egwuatu in the face and shoulder at point-blank range.
Mr Egwuatu said: "It was like a scene from a movie, I just couldn't believe what was happening, I'd only gone out to buy some groceries."
He added: "When he pulled the gun out on me I could feel my life flashing in front of my eyes.
"He repeatedly racially abused me in the shop and kept saying that he had something for me. I didn't realise that something would be the gun.
"What really shocked me was the venom in this man's eyes as he was racially abusing me for absolutely no reason, the veins on his neck were popping out, there was so much anger."
The Met police said no one has been arrested in connection with the attack.

wow, again this world rears its ugly head
Even the U.K. has their crazies!
I have never been to London and would like to
I would like to see a few castles
It was never my style to make fun of, or post in my journal silly questions that members asked, either to the Acolyte system or via pm... but really sometimes you have wonder at the quality of questions asked. ..
For example four years ago we got questions that required an intelligent reply, and now it appears for the most of the time you get questions that the member could of answered themselves, if they had taken the time to read the terms of service!
Has four years really made such a difference were the young generation seem to "expect" thngs done for them..instead of achieving it themselves? Just an observation of mines. I detest lazy people.
Thank Gawd Geraldine our Housie, comes back this Friday! I have left her the ironing! *evil laugh* It is 4pm on a Sunday afternoon and I have finished all below. I *finally* get a hour to myself before I have to start cook dinner!

As an appreciation, I would also like to congratulate Jason, Crazywolf and Jamie for all the hard work and effort they put into creating three successful societies, and to Deity for the effort she made making the House successful :) Jason and Deity, I think you both did brilliant jobs as Regents over the past year or so, and I am sure the new Regents will excel in your footprints to, and create new paths also. :)

Don't forget ElderDaniel! :D
Oh yea, ElderDaniel too.. I forgot him!
I must say some good choices were made in the appointment of the new allocation of Staff members. I was always an advocate in not belittling members, ( sure got me in trouble once) and it will be interesting to see how the new administration holds out to that :) Good luck you three !
Today it was ever so windy here, and we were left without power to the house for a few hours. It is already winter with temperatures as low as 7c today, so we are lucky we had the stove to run the radiators with.
A pole had blown down at the back of the house, and a fuse had blown. Fortunately the farmer next door helped the Electricity Board with the aid of his tractor in erecting the pole again on a temporary basis, so we didn't have to spend all night in the glow of candlelight :)
It got me to thinking of how they used to do in times before Isaac Newton was born as there I was missing the music, my computer and the televison. Even the radio sounded boring. I considered I was spoilt with modern technology, and I romantically let my mind run to my dream of playing and owning a piano... I could even sing then, or make up tunes and perhaps be inspired to write poety and lyrics in the way I used to.
I came back from my day-dream with a start as the server beeped back on again, and tune of windows start-up came through the speakers. I thought I'd explore that option again..but then I have said that once before too..
i have burned my right hand all across the palm. it is very sore so i will not be typing a lot over the next while until it is a little less inflamed and less painful. can only tap with fingers on my left hand right now ..sniffs.. cant hold a convo with that skill, but i will be here looking and reading until all is well again.. xxx

Honey! How the hell did that happen? Have you been to a doctor? Please be sure to take good care of yourself! I'll be thinking of you.
Oh no! Please get well soon.Burns can take a long time...Im thinking of you.:(
Darn Emmy that sounds very painful and aggravating too. Take care of it and get well soon :)
Ohh take care hon....still if you can only type with your left hand...if you 'accidently' type a few naughty words...well you can get clean away with it lol
Thankyou..well 5 and a half hours later, I have a flexible right hand..although swollen about twice the size of my left, I am able to type again with both hands :)
I was thinking about other things, and burned my right hand with the pan I was heating oven chips with. It was heated to 250c.. and right now I have a selection of blisters across my inner palm, inner thumb and tips of index and middle fingers. Icepacks which I had in the freezer for sports injuries helped and some flamazine :) I'll be fine in the morning so, no need to order the 6 foot under yet! :)
