Pondering about the journal and looking at other peoples entries. It is good to see so many of you having a wonderful life right now in the run-up to Christmas. There are also some of you who are not, and I feel for you. It is going to be a scrooge of a Christmas for some folks, some of which do not even have their own homes anymore. Never mind the thought of getting presents :( The best sort of presents come from the heart, but try to tell that to someone who has just lost their job or home. You are likely to be slapped.

------------------------------------------

More thoughts..

I deplore to see good people being used and manipulated to think they are doing it for a higher purpose. Higher purpose of what exactly? Get on with your life.

--------------------------------------

More thoughts..

Emigration to Australia appeals to me. It seems to be a happy country, no griminess of recession there, but it would be for selfish reasons if I left here. So, it wouldn't work. Love to, all the same.

-----------------------------------------

Looking forward to getting some time of work .. hubby says he is sending me to a spa for a week to chill-out as my pressy. That one really came from the heart. You should see the shape I am in!

-------------------------------------------

Mum remains in hospital.. they are monitoring her illness. Have to wait to see how it all goes. I have bought her a book about Princess Diana which is mostly all pictures, so I will take that in tonight. Speaking of which I have to fly as visiting hours have already started.

-------------------------------------

Later.

I never understood doing things for a higher purpose. If God wanted me to do something, it wouldn't be manipulation. =] I'm sure of that! I think we are meant to find peace within ourselves though.

And all I could even say to the people without jobs or homes is that there are still small things to be thankful for. I know it for a fact.

Aurora's been donating money to the Salvation Army and toys to toy drives at the stores. We may not have a lot of money (which is why I had to do Black Friday here to save about half of what I would have spent on all the things I bought) but she knows there's children in the world who don't have the things she does. I make sure she knows there's some children who don't have houses, food, or clean clothes. That some of them don't have Papas and Mamas and she should be happy to have them and show them she loves them.

We're going to the graveyard this weekend or next week to put Christmas trees on my daddy, Old Grandma (who she met and remembers), and my grandpap. =] I'm happy she's not afraid of the graveyard. I tell her it's a place to go and remember people who have passed on.

*huggles* I hope your mom gets out of the hospital soon. I bet she's restless to get home.

Do you celebrate Christmas?

I haven't wrote in my journal lately as it seems things are continually the same. Mum, is holding her own..bless her heart but it must be terrible for her to be spending such a long time in hospital.

I had exams on the 10th of December which have now been canceled due mostly to not having enough time to study.. Time is limited when you are in full time work, caring for a parent at night and taking on the routine work of taking care of my home.

Love to have a puppy for Christmas. Hubby said, no. It's my dream to have another chocolate Labrador but its finding the time to care for it that probably led him to say, no. You see, I was thinking of looking after a puppy for the mountain search and rescue team for the 12 to 18 month term before they take them away to teach them the specialist skills they need. Hubby said, he could imagine me running away to the hills with the dog instead of giving it back to them when the time came! So, that was another reason for him to say no. I think I could handle it... He doesn't think so. I think he can make his own dinner tonight pfffft.

I'm so glad her blood markers are going up. I hope they continue to improve! ♥

I don't think I could honestly give back an animal after spending that much time with them.

I haven't been around much lately either, and I'm sorry to read about your mom...I know that she'd prefer to be in the comfort of home. I hope that she gets to do just that soon!

As for the puppy...I wouldn't be able to give it back either.

I am not too sure when Thanksgivng is.. (lost all track of time recently) but a very Happy Thanksgiving to all those who celebrate it from me :) over here we only celebrate Harvest Thanksgving in church rather than make a national holiday of it. Frankly that sucks, because I could do with another day or so off work!

Mum, remains in hospital and still fighting the puemonia infection, and God must be with her as her blood markers have gone up.

Hubby took me away from it all for two days to Dublin where I did some Christmas shopping, and we got to the theatre to see, Daphne du Maurier's My Cousin Rachel adapted by Joseph O'Connor preswnted by the Gate Theatre. I thoroughly enjoyed that show, and no I did not fall asleep, as I did during the Dorian Gray production!

My mum had a stream of visitors over the weekend, all of my aunties were up..but she was so glad to see when I came home last night. :)

It is good you have a husband who takes care of you when you may have forgotten to do so while taking care of others. I am hopeful for your Mum.

Today is Thanksgiving Day in the USA...Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!

It's the third day of Mum"s hospitalisation and as much as it is touch and go, I really have faith in believing she is winning the battle with the i.v. and oral antibiotics she is getting. Tomorrow will tell as surely the blood marker tests will be back from the lab...she really has a rosy colour in her cheeks today compared to the usual pale and sallow complexion. Still cold extremities but I took in her very soft fake fur blanket which delighted her. Let's see what the weekend brings...

Being that it is Rememberance Sunday it always brings back memories of Grandad shining his medals he was awarded in the war. He was rightly so proud of them, and they always gleamed in pride of place in his china cabinet.

Throughout the generations my family have always been involved in military life, supporting the country..right up to this generation. My Dad was in the Royal Airforce during the second world war, and he is still suffering from a leg injury he received when a tank went over his leg. A small war pension is meant to compensate for that.

He wanted me to join the Navy, and since I always loved the ocean..I nearly signed up. Glad now I did not, as I can't imagine being disciplined and regimented in the way they teach you in military school.

I will be calling with my Dad today though, to honour him for the effort he made in keeping the world a safer place for us today.

So, I had a visitor from Trinidad, Tobago.. Anyone else had the same visitor? Wow, this site is truly international now compared to how it started. Shame it dragged in some unsavoury elements.

That, or I was too tired for it.. Anyway which way it goes it was embarrassing for hubby because I was doing wee piggy snores in a theatre were you could hear a pin drop! Heh.

I heart my brother :) as some of you know Mum has been seriously ill and I have been constantly caring for her on a daily basis as well as working for the past two months. It has left me so tired, and running way behind in audit report times, service level agreements etc., but I put Mum and her needs first, thence burning the candle at both ends.

Well, my brother who has recently returned from Spain gave me a reprieve and I have recently got caught up on my reports, and managed a short trip to Dublin also which hubby surprised me with. I could of hugged them both for thinking so much of me. The lesson to be learned, is to give of yourself unselfishly and peace will be the reward.

Still have examination papers to mark though..

One thing I detest is drivers pulling out of a side road causing me to brake, and then having done that driving slower than what I was originally driving! What the hell is it.. If you see a friggin car on the main road let it pass prior to pulling out rather than potentially causing an accident by trying to get ahead of on coming traffic. Driving A B C's please!

Try driving in Florida, especially during the "season" which is now just getting started! One really has to watch out for the other driver!
