I never made it down to Dublin this weekend as there is too much ice and snow around for a long car journey. Maybe that is not a bad thing as the pound is pretty weak against the euro right now.

Christmas Present

09:43 Nov 27 2008
Times Read: 1,379

I am waiting on the Canon 5D MK2 to become available as I wanted to give it as a christmas present updating Dominic's Canon G9 point and shoot. It is dissapointing I can't get it as he sold his other SLR to a friend knowing a change was coming up. Dominic is an avid and known photographer around these parts but only engages in photography as a hobby and he is sooo going to be dissapointed at Christmas! If anyone knows where a Canon 5D MK2 may be available please let me know!

I wish I could help. Everything I find (is probably what you've already seen), is a pre-order only. That's one heck of a Christmas gift. I really wish I could help you find one in time. I keep you in mind as I look around.

This is where I bought my Nikon D200 (but again, it's just a pre-order).

The power of Honey and Cinnamon

18:16 Nov 25 2008
Times Read: 1,425

I received this from a friend of mines in Egypt and thought if anyone got value from it then it would be a good thing to share the information :)

BERNIE & TERRY RESEARCH

CINNAMON & HONEY

HONEY AND CINNAMON

FACTS ON HONEY AND CINNAMON:

It is found that a mixture of honey and cinnamon cures most diseases. Honey is produced in most of the countries of the world. Scientists of today also accept honey as a "Ram Ban" (very effective) medicine for all kinds of diseases. Honey can be used without any side effects for any kind of diseases..

Today's science says that even though honey is sweet, if taken in the right dosage as a medicine, it does not harm diabetic patients. Weekly World News, a magazine in Canada, in its issue dated 17 January, 1995 has given the following list of diseases that can be cured by honey and cinnamon as researched by western scientists:

HEART DISEASES:

Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, apply on bread, instead of jelly and jam, and eat it regularly for breakfast. It reduces the cholesterol in the arteries and saves the patient from heart attack. Also those who have already had an attack, if they do this process daily, they are kept miles away from the next attack. Regular use of the above process relieves loss of breath and strengthens the heart beat..

In America and Canada, various nursing homes have treated patients successfully and have found that as you age, the arteries and veins lose their flexibility and get clogged; honey and cinnamon revitalize the arteries and veins...

ARTHRITIS:

Arthritis patients may take daily, morning, and night, one cup of hot water with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. If taken regularly even chronic arthritis can be cured..

In a recent research conducted at the Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon Cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a week, out of the 200 people so treated, practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain, and within a month, mostly all the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis started walking without pain..

BLADDER INFECTIONS:

Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of lukewarm water and drink it. It destroys the germs in the bladder..

TOOTHACHE:

Make a paste of one teaspoon of cinnamon powder and five teaspoons of honey and apply on the aching tooth. This may be applied three times a day until the tooth stops aching..

CHOLESTEROL:

Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon Powder mixed in 16 ounces of tea water, given to a cholesterol patient, was found to reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10 percent within two hours.. As mentioned for arthritic patients, if taken three times a day, any chronic cholesterol is cured... According to information received in the said journal, pure honey taken with food daily relieves complaints of cholesterol..

COLDS:

Those suffering from common or severe colds should take one tablespoon lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon powder daily for three days.. This process will cure most chronic cough, cold, and clear the sinuses..

UPSET STOMACH:

Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures stomach ache and also clears stomach ulcers from the root..

GAS:

According to the studies done in India and Japan, it is revealed that if honey is taken with cinnamon powder the stomach is relieved of gas..

IMMUNE SYSTEM:

Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system and protects the body from bacteria and viral attacks.. Scientists have found that honey has various vitamins and iron in large amounts.. Constant use of honey strengthens the white blood corpuscles to fight bacteria and viral diseases..

INDIGESTION:

Cinnamon powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of honey taken before food relieves acidity and digests the heaviest of meals..

INFLUENZA:

A scientist in Spain has proved that honey contains a natural Ingredient which kills the influenza germs and saves the patient from flu..

LONGEVITY:

Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken regularly, arrests the ravages of old age.. Take four spoons of honey, one spoon of cinnamon powder and three cups of water and boil to make like tea.. Drink 1/4 cup, three to four times a day. It keeps the skin fresh and soft and arrests old age.. Life spans also increases and even a 100 year old, starts performing the chores of a 20-year-old..

PIMPLES:

Three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder paste. Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it next morning with warm water. If done daily for two weeks, it removes pimples from the root..

SKIN INFECTIONS:

Applying honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts on the affected parts cures eczema, ringworm and all types of skin infections..

WEIGHT LOSS:

Daily in the morning one half hour before breakfast on an empty stomach and at night before sleeping, drink honey and cinnamon powder boiled in one cup of water.. If taken regularly, it reduces the weight of even the most obese person.. Also, drinking this mixture regularly does not allow the fat to accumulate in the body even though the person may eat a high calorie diet..

CANCER:

Recent research in Japan and Australia has revealed that advanced cancer of the stomach and bones have been cured successfully.. Patients suffering from these kinds of cancer should daily take one tablespoon of honey with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder for one month three times a day..

FATIGUE:

Recent studies have shown that the sugar content of honey is more helpful rather than being detrimental to the strength of the body!

Senior citizens, who take honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts, are more alert and flexible. Dr. Milton, who has done research, says that a half tablespoon of honey taken in a glass of water and sprinkled with cinnamon powder, taken daily after brushing and in the afternoon at about 3:00 P.M.. when the vitality of the body starts to decrease, increases the vitality of the body within a week..

BAD BREATH:

People of South America, first thing in the morning, gargle with one teaspoon of honey and cinnamon powder mixed in hot water, s o their breath stays fresh throughout the day..

HEARING LOSS:

Daily morning and night honey and cinnamon powder, taken in equal parts restore hearing..

Remember when we were kids? We had toast with real butter and cinnamon sprinkled on it!

I was just asked a question by a new member about how the system works on here, well, sincerely.. maybe it really isn't that obvious to new people who do come along here that they should read the faqs?

Okay, the tips for earning favour:

1) Get into the Dark-Net-Work regularly and spend plenty of time, because if you don't spend time..you ain't ever going to reach Sire!

2) Ten percent of your favour is based on data-base submissions

3) Oh, and rate plenty of profiles, portfolios, and don't forget the data-base you just wrote some of!

4) The Prince can also give favour, but remember what he can give he can take it away just as quickly at his own discretion. He is VR's own King Henry VIII!

Christmas Planning

22:30 Nov 23 2008
Times Read: 1,486

What with the storm here, it has been a quiet day in. I have spent the entire day cooking (my favourite hobby) and re-designing the kitchen interior of my home, mostly from www.next.co.uk.

What with having my Father and his wife around for Christmas lunch, and my brother is coming home from Spain.. I just want the place to look real good and show that I made an effort.

I have decided to go with a black, gold and lace setting for the Christmas table, which I thought I could adapt for other occassions rather than splashing out for just one day, and I am ordering Roman blinds for the windows. The walls could do with an overhaul of paint to, and I am erring away from the darker cinnamon colour to something brighter.. hmmm, maybe a cream..

If we don't go to Dublin next weekend, I am planning on putting up the Christmas tree and the rest of decorations. My neighbours girls love this and enjoy picking the spots to hang the chocolate Santas on the tree :)

Must say, the home-made soup turned out a treat today.. I tried it from stock-cubes for a change instead of bone marrow or chicken carass :) Less greasier too!

Now, I am comtemplating having an early night, my sister and I are taking Mum up to Belfast tomorrow morning... can't wait to get to the Christmas market where I hope to find some gold Christmas candles!

A lonnnngggg Weekend

Silly getting worked up about this, but I had a client cancel next week, so my hand literally shook with excitement when I score a line through Monday and scribbled, "OFF" across the page! I am hoping it will work out that way, because my sister is home for a couple of weeks and we plan to make it to Belfast with Mum for some Christmas shopping.

Mother, can't really walk that far so we have it planned to take it easy up there, and get her on the millennium wheel (do you realise how difficult it was to spell millennium? heh side tracking) it offers spectacular views of Belfast, so I have heard..so I plan to get some pretty decent photographs from there (I hope)! The Christmas European Market is open up at the City Hall too. I adore markets, the colours..scents, people and vibrancy of noises. :)

More mobility...Yet another thing to thank America for.

American Airlines Debuts Mobile Boarding Pass

Passengers in select cities will be able to speed through the terminals by having their boarding passes sent to their cell phones or PDAs.

By Marin Perez

InformationWeek

November 14, 2008 05:03 PM

American Airlines' mobile boarding pass

Your cell phone may help you avoid the long lines at the airport this holiday season, as American Airlines is implementing a mobile boarding pass program at select airports.

Supplier of map data and 3D imagery to major mapping applications providers, TeleAtlas previews the world of location-based messaging and more.In partnership with the Transportation Security Administration, the airline will enable customers to receive a two-dimensional bar code on their cell phones that will act as a boarding pass. The program is in trial at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport and will soon expand to domestic flights from Los Angeles International and John Wayne Orange County airports.

"Customers who choose this option can bypass printing a boarding pass at their home, office, or even at the airport to board their plane. They can go straight to security and then to the aircraft," said Mark DuPont, the company's VP of airport services planning, in a statement.

To use mobile boarding passes, customers have to have an active e-mail account and a phone that's Internet-enabled. When the customers check in via the airline's Web site through a desktop or mobile, they will have the option of getting a boarding pass sent to an Internet-enabled mobile device. Once the customers are at the airport, they can proceed directly to the security checkpoint where airport personnel can scan their phones.

American Airlines is just the latest airline to dabble in the mobile space, as Continental and Delta have been testing similar boarding pass programs in cooperation with the TSA.

Using cell phones and smartphones to check it was greatly boosted by the 2007 decision by the International Air Transport Association to introduce a global standard for boarding pass bar codes. The association represents about 93% of international air traffic, and all airlines must have bar coded boarding passes -- paper or digital -- fully implemented by 2010.

Hope it will catch on over here soon! no more paper or time wasting at airports.

This castle is reported to be one of the most haunted locations in Ireland, and in recent times was locked up after being haunted by an Elemental spirit. Seventy years after this a famous Irish musician moved in and started restoration work. I was fortunate to be allowed into his home, and for that I am grateful.

The visit to Leap Castle has changed my thoughts and views on the spiritual world. Below are some of the photos, but at the moment I am not quite ready to display a few which I took in the Bloody Chapel at the top of the tower.

Yanks very much! The voice of a United States of America has spoken! America was lucky to have two very good candidates, but the majority of people wanted change. Change is good, and there is an awful lot of work ahead.which is not a task for a faint hearted administration :) Congratulations America, you choose a good team for the job ahead!

Trouble with the democrats is that they produce a cult of personality... Roosevelt, Kennedy, Clinton. All show and no real change.

I given a lovely present today! A digitial writing tablet! Wow! I mean WOW..was I impressed with that :) Now I can write things in my handwriting when I am out in customer premises and transfer those notes over on an USB lead to the Computer. The beautiful thing is, the computer then types them in document format! Class! Wow..this is terrific - it is going to save me so much time!

I am home from my, "Most Haunted Weekend" now, and I left my home a ghost-skeptic but now I can say I am a believer. I have seen and heard the evidence.

Feeling a bit tired to write all about it right now, as we were travelling all day but gosh did I have some weekend!!
