Okay, so Mum wasn't able to travel and she has no mobility at the moment so I was left holding the ticket to Europe. I decided I didn't wish to be alone on a trip I was only going on because of Mum so I cancelled the ticket and seen my insurance brokers. There should be no issue getting a refund under the circumstances.
So, hubby is taking me to Dublin instead. We should be leaving sometime today when he comes back from the restaurants.
Hotel is booked and my bag is packed, and I'm ready to go out the door at four :)
I have friends who are enemies of each other. That don't bother me but it doesn't mean I can't show my caring side for both of them. What I don't do is get involved in their affairs, that's strictly between them.
COMMENTS
I agree.
And that my friend is what makes you a good friend.
The way a friend should be :)
That is exactly right!. :D xoxoxo It is one of the reasons you are so awsum.
100%
Happy days! The new series of Dr.Who is on the way! Just seen a trailer where Dr.Who mets his old adversary, "The Daleks" and ends up with Amy in Dalek parliament! Woot woot woot! DALEKS!
Emmy *yawns * out of boredom and tiredness. Goodnight to those Angels out there. Thanks for ypur thoughts about my Mum.
Gee, Mum booked a holiday for me as her carer on Friday but now she has hurt herself and is unable to go. If anyone is interested in a cheapie cruise ticket leaving Barcelona on Sunday one week, please get in touch with me. It is on the Norwegian Epic, and it is for a single cabin, which I am sure could be upgraded to double if anyone is interested.
I will still be going, as I have no way out of the deal unless someone wants to buy my ticket also!
COMMENTS
I wish :(
Just checked my travel insurance.. I may be eligible for a refund :) will know more tomorrow.
Okay, men ..do you sit, or stand? Lets take a vote on this lol.
COMMENTS
I stand and I clean. :)
depends on the moment, so both
I think that we should try it here. Let men sit in their own piss for a change.
Lol Isis! I steer away from public unisex loo's although I hear under the Discrimination Act they are discriminating by providing men's, ladies, and disabled facilities instead of one for all. So, watch out at the airports!
I always check the toilet before I sit. If you sit in someone's urine, it's your own fault.
To me, this is taking the idea of being sanitary too far.
People (men AND women) need to take more responsibility for cleaning up after themselves. This isn't just men...How many bloody tampons are just thrown on the floor in public restrooms???
I guess that I should have mentioned that after sitting in piss as a kid ONCE, I rarely used public restrooms. (And if I do, I use several toilet seat covers). Women are sometimes nastier than men too, by the way...lol.
Yo, okay... Time for a new journal entry!
I never sit..even for a number 2. I do flush with the seat and lid down.
lol
Hi, spent all morning of the bank holiday in hospital with Mummy. She will be okay, I hope. They (social workers and the doctor) wanted to put her into care today but I refused, and so did my sister. Now my sister and I have to take it in turns to nurse her well. I am meant to be going away for a week or so on Friday with Mum. Holiday has been booked and paid for a while back. I told her today I would get a wheelchair and push her everywhere, so we will see what happens. There is a hospital on the ship.
My mother, the one who gave me life.. will never go into care whilst I can stand on two legs.
COMMENTS
I do hope everything works out for mum.
As for her going into care, I really have two trains of thought on this but I'm sure you'll do what's right by her when the time comes.
I don't know about where you live but here in the US we have programs that can assist in home care. We have nurses, social workers, etc. that come to the home. One of those services is respite care - or a sitter if you need to run errands or to give the caretaker a break.
Perhaps there is something like this there...if you are interested. In either case, my thoughts are with you and your sister.
You are a wonderful person and daughter xx
Amen!
I feel the same way about my mom...when it comes to her needing long-term care, she'll get it at home...not in some god-awful facility!
The European Union comissioners have announced that Agreement has been reached to adopt English as the preferred language for European communications, rather than German, which was the other possibility. As part of the negotiations, Her Majesty's Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a five-year phased plan for what will be known as EuroEnglish (Euro for short). That was fucking funny. xD I had to read it out to my father and we were both in stitches laughing.
Wow, now American "speak" will be more English than English itself..
LOL, help me off the floor.......
Oh Jesus - are you kidding? What a damn disaster this will be...LOL!
Hahaha! I've got a talking phone, because i can't see, and you have no idea how funny that sounded XD
Lol LA! That must of been fun!
Afterthought on my previous journal entry. What would you do with your cash if you had a massive win on the lottery? I would do quite a few things..
1. Buy my disabled sister a new home and take her on a well deserved holiday.
2. Take all of my family on a world cruise.
3. Build a crèche for the local children in my area.
4. Build an elderly care centre that is fitting and modern to those that live there.
5. Excavate and build an indoor swimming pool at my home.
6. Re-model my bedroom, and the kitchen.
7. Review other needs of my family
8. Donate monies to the local branch of Breathe Easy,( British Lung Foundation) the branch I founded as Chairperson.
9. Then if there is any money left, spend at will! and go visit some folk abroad :)
COMMENTS
Depending on the size of the win I think most of mine would be given away. It's not that I wouldn't appreciate it it's just that money can't buy health and that's where I lack these days. So my daughter, close friends and various charieties would benefit big time.
Incidently, it's back to work for me tomorrow as I didn't even have one number this week!
I didnt win the lottery, but the first thing ? Help anyone in my family who needed it.
Second? Made sure my children had a nest egg and enough for any schooling they might want.
And I like very much all of the ones you have posted. It shows what a big heart you have!!!
But I already knew that.:)
Many of the same things as you, especially the assisting of others. On the other hand, I would also make several others regret their actions, but using only pieces of paper :)
(I just typed a ton of stuff, and my cat Whiskers rolled over the escape button...good grief)!
Anyway, assuming that the lottery winnings are in the high millions, as I live in an expensive state - lol:
* Pay off my sisters' houses and give them money
* Buy back my moms' house that was lost due to a predatory loan (She lives in a condo that's paid off though, thank God). Give my mom money too
* Buy/build the loft of my dreams, complete with an art studio, design/sewing room, wine cellar, and a pet den
* Donate a ton of money to my fave charities - The Humane Society, The ASPCA, Habitat for Humanity, UNICEF, The World Wildlife Defense Fund - you get the idea
* Create a scholarship for smart underpriviledged students, regardless of ethnicity. The winners would be one boy and one girl per year
* Help establish small parks throughout many cities/towns in the area
* Shop for exclusive designer garb, buy a few art pieces
* Get 'some work done', ie get fat sucked out, three dental implants, and skin laser treatments...lol!
If Virgin's newest aircraft is a success, 'long haul' could take on a whole new meaning. Not only is the SpaceShipTwo possibly the coolest looking thing ever to go into orbit, it's also highly advanced. The 60ft-long spaceship can carry two pilots and six passengers, and is basically an air-launched glider with a rocket motor and a number of extra systems for space flight. In space, it uses small thrusters which allow the pilots to manoeuvre the vehicle and provide a changing view for passengers.
The downside of all that is that tickets cost $200,000 and deposits start from $20,000. You can book the flight via Virgin Galactic website at www.virgingalactic.com
I didn't win this weeks lottery, but maybe you did!
I am going to buy a tee that says, cant sleep..wont sleep! What the heck will i do about it! (must stop eating yummy cheese with cranberries last thing at night!)
COMMENTS
You need to be burning calories at night not increassing them ;-)
I couldn't resist..hubby came home offering it as peace pipe last night!
I leave my car in to get the reversing censors fitted today as it seems every car I have had, I do manage to reverse into things! This will put a stop to it. Hubby now drives the big car, and I got a wee Peugot 208 that manages 70 miles to the gallon. It's the smallest car I have driven in years that I can remember, but I resent paying so much for my fuel.
So.. dear Chancellor, isn't it about time you dropped the VAT rate? Sainsbury's has put the diesel up to £1.39 per litre, and I motor so much in my job!
I make my contribution to life systems in many ways. I hold down a demanding full time job and assist others in my professional capacities often putting a lot of my own personal time in helping their needs. I look after my ageing mother and me, well I thank God my father has remarried and has a wife able to look after his needs also. Looking after my mother means not only ensuring she eats properly, but that adequate time is spent on her healthcare and also in giving her a quality of life that she deserves as the mother who has given birth to me.
I pay taxes to the government so that it may be used in providing for others less fortunate than me to get assistance with their day-to-day living, and contribute to the chancellor’s purse on a weekly basis for the betterment of the country. I don’t complain but sometimes I get so fed up with always giving, giving, giving that I want to scream. On top of all this, I cook, I clean my home, I do our laundry, and look after my husband in my role as homemaker. I keep everyone happy, the list is endless…
I have people depending on me. Their livelihood depends on my performance and I am working endlessly to please other people which are probably the reasons why I am successful, well thought of my in my local and professional communities, and can hold down all the things I do.
On top of all of that, I try to do it all with a smile on my face despite my illness, and now this twisted pelvis and spine alignment is just aggravating and adding to my medical condition. Life has to go on. Sighs, chiropractor again tomorrow night.

I don't do it myself but I always tell others not to be selfish when they need care or have health problems and that they should take the time to sort it out. The thing is that unless you are operating at your best it's hard to help others even if that means doing your own thing now and again.
You do your share and then some and deserve the praise.
Oh sweetie I'm sorry. Don't forget to take care of YOU.
Sometimes I just feel I am selfish taking three weeks off work every year.. I am fortunate that next week is one of them because I am at the end of my tether before I IMPLODE!
So, I flew to England yesterday... it was a 4.30am start and it has left me drained today. I am still in my pj's after a late start to the day and working away in the cloud. (thinking if I had typed that a year ago, people would think I was cuckoo what with working in the cloud lol) It seems an endless task.. I think I prefer the restaurant and property rental side of the family business instead. Blah, you can tell it has been one of those days. I freekin' loathe tenders that sometimes I regret my professional memberships :(
For those of you I have on Facebook, I have deactivated my account..nothing personal, it's just I dont use it a lot and it's another distraction I don't really have time for.

*pouty face*
I did that too:) best thing I ever did LOL
I love the American wipeout series.. It is so much bigger, dangerous, and wilder than the British one! Anyone else watch it? It's a hoot. Another American programme I like to watch is, "Suits"
COMMENTS
I watch it every Thursday or at least try to, I laugh so freakin' hard! Rodney got me hooked on it :D
I really don't do that type of TV. Instead of winding down it would wind me up!
And yet our Rugby is a real mans game!! *coughs*
I am off on Tuesday to England to update my teaching skills with my professional body.. I hate this but it comes around every four years. The admin booked me a seat at the back of the plane.. I hate the back of the plane as its ever so bumpy flying in over the English channel to Belfast and I get the butterfly's. :(
COMMENTS
What! England? Where in England? ... and now you mention it?!!! Strewth, women!!
What do you mean? There is only one England! Leicester, is the place I will be in though, a bit away from you...BUT I will be in London, Heathrow airport area during the last week of September :)
Even Heathrow isn't really close. We'll have to plan this a bit better next time.
As for Leicester ... who goes there anymore?!! lol
I thought that was just a sign-post on the M1
Be sure to take some Dramamine doll xx
Thanks for the comments to those who left them. I hadn't checked them out for a few days until now.. so I am catching up journal wise that is!
COMMENTS
Hehehe, I am slow at times Steve. SLOW!
Blah, I don't know if I like this Windows 8 programme. Give me 3.1 anyday!
Super pleased with my fitness today.. I went beyond my personal markers in my hillclimbs today and faster on the straights. Great improvement and with only three visits to the chiropracter.
Nothing like walking out when you have nice dry weather.. I may go again later tonight as the only thing I am allowed to do right now is WALK!
Drat, I hate sleepless nights. We have feral cats in the area and I swear I am going to call the warden if they don't can it! Grr. Anyway just had a nice cuppa and slice of toast, and not a miaow to be heard..so think I will fly back on to the nest :)
COMMENTS
It was a very hot night so I had little sleep too. I wouldn't worry too much about the wild cats as the wolves will get them!! hehe
Foxes maybe, with any luck..
Off on a completely different tangent now.. I guess this poem of friendship brought a tear or two for more reasons than one, and my sweet friend Linda.
I saved this poem she sent me way back..
COMMENTS
Lovely sentiment.
Well yes indeed.. she wrote the poem for me. There was some personal stuff at the end which I haven't shown, but I do miss her. She was a good friend on here.. we shared so many laughs together.
I achieved a lot today, and things are moving well. Yes, I am pleased. Dinner was wonderful last night, but the portion size could or fed six persons! I resent that when there are starving people in the world especially when there is much waste going back to the kitchen.
One of the restaurants was really busy today.. I am so glad we have a good crew up there as the band contest was on and thousands of people were around! Check it out... Pipe Band Championship Northern Ireland. Of course hubby did his thing with the camera. :) so I may have some shots to put up later.
Okay, so my last journal entry was not so nice lol... I do like to play around every now and then you know. Today kicks of with an appointment with the chiropractor, or bone cracker as I call him. I detest it...but what with the carpal, the twisted pelvis, the s1, and s2 spine being out of alignment there is nothing else for it. I am a right crock lol, but still I plunder on. Then, for my day off..I get to go to my office to finish a tender submission, and if I am lucky two reports.
However, I have set a reward for all that effort. I have a facial booked at 3.30 and a bottle of Villa Maria chilling in the fridge for later :). Roll on later!
COMMENTS
always good to reward yourself. :))) hope its not to painful.
Sounds like an evenly balanced day you have there. As long as you don't rush it to the finale!!
I like the last half best, enjoy, you work hard for it :)
I am still not finished.. the submission is so freekin long :(

I have saved a considerable amount of messages dated from 2007 and I was just re-reading some of them. Most of them are lovely things friends have said to me, or sent me over the years. Some messages are from 'back then friends' who are friends no longer and I felt a glow inside remembering those times. Special messages, addresses..
Some are also messages of anger and disagreement which on re-read doesnt seem important anymore but at the time were crucial... Makes you wonder , and I can see how others have changed too.
COMMENTS
I wish I had thought to save my messages. Darn.
Isn't it nice to stroll down memory lane now and again. Sometimes I think, did I really say that?!!! lol
I love those:) good times for sure:):):)
I've saved a lot of my messages too...haven't read too many of them though, as of late.
i have a whole lot of messages saved and from time to time read them back . just a sentimental kinda guy i guess shrugs
It's storming in Ireland at the moment.. Like flipping winter. I hope it will not be like that in the Med Sea in a couple of weeks time as its hard to hold on to Mum as it is! I wish she would bring a walking stick! But she is soooo proudly independent. Now I know where I got it from :)
COMMENTS
The Med will be fine except for The Straits but that won't last long. Just make sure you're drinking at the bar when you go through!!
I will, I will! ;)
I should have known :-p
Just watching the most bizarre television programme about Britiains strangest pets, and a woman who keeps a HORSE in her living room! LMAO.. sure is some eccentrics around!
COMMENTS
Don't believe you .. stop horsing around :-p
Watch channel 5 now!
Aren't Brits famous for being eccentrics? LOL!
Just home after auditing a trainer's skills in a classroom 170 miles from here. I have never, ever needed or gone for an afternoon sleep in my life...but hey, there is a first time for everything! This seems to be it.
I do use my honour honourably as I think what's the point of giving negative honour and missing out on those who deserve it. I think I'd rather show respect for those who make my VR enjoyable rather than using what few points I have to give to someone I may dislike, or whose actions I may not agree with. What's your criteria?
COMMENTS
Usually....
I don't leave Negative Honor.....
unless the person REALLY pissed off.
Otherwise... I don't waste my honor points on the wastes of space of VR.
:)
I've given negative honor before but mostly it's all positive.
I've gotten into a routine with the honour thing and that's if I remember to give it at all.
Even though I know who is giving me negatives daily I have chosen not to retaliate, I, much like yourself, prefer to show my love than to carry around all that negativity.
Like Nekirena, I've given negative but don't typically remember to leave it. It's "one more thing" to do and often I just have time to journal and go on my way with other things here, or work.
I agree...why waste honor negatively when you can positively give it to someone?
couldnt agree more well said :))
Someone was counting recently how many lifetime memberships they have purchased from the prospect of supporting VR, so we established they have bought five. As for me, well.. I have purchased six over the eight year membership in support of VR. All except for this one I have given away as competition gifts, or for the charity auction.. But I am wondering, and I am sure there is.. How many members here have exceeded that six?
COMMENTS
That's a ton of money...from my perspective, ha.
A couple people. I don't want to put names out there because I know some like to keep these things private- it's known between those people, and that's as far as they want it to go.
Another person would be a member no longer here. She tried to use all this money spent here as a means to do whatever she wanted. And it eventually caught up to her. As it's happened more than once, this money doesn't not excuse behavior and infinite suspensions still occur- without refunds.
Imagine that! Tut tut, somebody trying to use the purchase of premium memberships for their own benefit! Incredible the scheming some folk do. Yea, the rules of premium membership have been around since the inception of Vampire Rave, but there again, I am not talking about the rules. It is good to know however, that there are still people out supporting the website.
I have only been able to purchase this one myself, hoping to someday get one for my LaPetite profile though. Hats off to you for always giving to the site Pam, in more ways than one :D
I really enjoyed the closing ceremony last night.. I was so engrossed by it all that I didn't realise the time it finished! Weren't the hats with lightbulbs a bright idea!
Oh man, I am busting my corset at a 160 pounds! Freaked out when I hit the scales this morning! Then complications set in...the chiropractor says it is best I don't workout until he gets my joints back into order again! Grrr, Well.. Can't stop me from power walking! I did the woods, TWICE today... Blah, no more 160 pounder for me!!! Eeek!
Today is wonderfully sunny and a gorgeous 23C. Just my kind of weather.. just finished work, and now I am off for a walk on the beach :) Might do prawns with a salt/chilli garlic dressing tonight, along with a cold bottle of pinot gringo :)
I have tried to message you a few times, but always end up deleting them instead of sending. You see, I remember how rude you have been, how you have forgotten to say thank you for the little things I say or do, and how you hide your friendship from others. It all hurt at one time, but now I see you for what you really are, and it is not so impressive. I know now, why you triumph in only a virtual world.
COMMENTS
Yikes.
lol Images ... You are a hoot!
Oh...to "triumph in only a virtual world" is never a good thing Ms. Emaerald.
That could fit a few here heh.
Yea.. Indeed.
So true...and whoever this person is...you're better off without them.
Yea, I guess... Sad though.
I was surprised to find out tonight, that the cruise Mum booked when I was in Cairo is a week earlier than i thought. oh boy. I dont mind taking care of my Mum but Gads have i got some rescheduling to do!
For the one here who wears two faces.
Five months ago the stream did flow,
The lilies bloomed within the sedge,
And we were lingering to and fro,
Where none will track thee in this snow,
Along the stream, beside the hedge.
Ah, Sweet, be free to love and go!
For if I do not hear thy foot,
The frozen river is as mute,
The flowers have dried down to the root:
And why, since these be changed since May,
Shouldst thou change less than they.
And slow, slow as the winter snow
The tears have drifted to mine eyes;
And my poor cheeks, five months ago
Set blushing at thy praises so,
Put paleness on for a disguise.
Ah, Sweet, be free to praise and go!
For if my face is turned too pale,
It was thine oath that first did fail, --
It was thy love proved false and frail, --
And why, since these be changed enow,
Should I change less than thou.
Elizabeth Barrett Browning
When you do, or say something nasty about others...I believe karma comes back to bite you in the ass. Be nice and helpful to others, accept critism, embrace compliments all while being good mannered and life will throw you up roses.
COMMENTS
If only...!
Oh! Now I know you like roses!
The sad thing is that for many who need to follow this sage advice, never will.
What an industrious day today has been. Between watching the ladies Olympic Marthathon, and the tennis which is now playing.. I managed to get two boils, and one coloured wash completed. It's handy having a few screens to watch in different room!
Neighbours kids came up to give me a hand but played VR games all day.. Well, I wasn't going to object on that considering it puts up my time spent.
AND ENGLAND WON THE GOLD IN TENNIS! it couldn't have happened to a better person! YAY
What a perfect ending to such a beautiful day. We went down to the little pub on the beach..what can I say perfect sighs.. warm, red sunset, wine spiltzers and sand running through my toes. A tingling warmth, and a sense of freedom from a demanding lifestyle while sitting beside the man that I love. :)
After, we called into the chippy and got some real fish n' chips and took them to a friends house so we could share supper and craic together :)
Now it's home to watch the movie, Fracture on telly. Perfect Saturday off :) mmmmm
Now that! Was the most relaxing time ever :) I love the scent of dermalogica beauty products. Meera is a Goddess with her fingers, and especially so when she lets them loose on an Indian Head Massage.. A wee extra she threw in for me today :)
Decided since I actually have a day off I would take it easy and do none of the below. Since I am kinda chilling, I phoned up my beauticians and by luck they had a cancellation for this afternoon. So, I am off for a facial...deep cleanse, hot stone face and shoulders massage and moisture mask. Yum.. Roll on 3pm!
Three choices today..go to see Mum, the vintage car rally, or the kite festival. Dumdedum, or alternatively if the weather keeps a nice walk! I refuse to work today, as life has been all about work since I returned from Cairo.
Only the power of a female's kiss can delay the dismantling of a nuclear bomb that is set to destroy a city within seconds. What power us woman have! Wow! Finding this hilariously funny it made me laugh out real loud in the cinema much to the bemusement of those sitting around me!
Really loved this film :) Awful sorry about the kids in America though who watched it who were shot. Every time there was gunfire my thoughts turned that direction.
So, it is the weekend.. flip YAAAAAAAAY! at least we will get to see the Batperson movie tonight! Big decisions, its either the 18.10 or the 19.40 screening. There may be a lot of wains in the first one.. so, I think it will probably be the later one.
Work, knocked the stuffings out of me today so I am not looking forward to a three hour plus movie, but everyone is saying I shouldn't miss it so maybe it is guaranteed to keep me awake!
Mmmm...I love this and its nearly as erotic as Fifty Shades of Grey

I've only heard good things about this film but my little'en is not interested!
We are going tomorrow yay! I am not working this Saturday morning :)
It was freaking awesome.....
It had twists that I didn't even expect!

I got a pleasant surprise from Mum today. I am going away again for another week it seems... this time to Barcelona and then on board the Norwegian Epic for a week. That master vessel even has an ice-bar! What a surprise that was today! I am forunate it is not until September so I can jiggle my appointments around a bit :)
