Hiatus

I am going to take a hiatus from everything online until Monday. If you message me, you know why I don't answer now. If you have my # or yahoo, feel free to throw me a message. I feel this weekend that I'll be in enough pain to be a big enough bitch that I have a 9/10 chance of pissing every one I know off. So, I'll see you on Monday! xoxoxoxo

Surgery on Friday!!!

I will have "surgery" for my knee on Friday at 1pm. I put that in quotes because there will be no insision. I will be put under anesthesia and the surgeon will slowly manipulate my leg to straighten it. The soft tissue behind my knee has locked up, which is why I can't straighten my leg past a 45 degree angle. I had 3 options to straighten it. The first was done on my first visit the the orthopedic office. That was to have 15 units of cortisone shot behind my knee cap. The second was to take steroids for a week. Obviosly neither worked at all or I wouldn't be going in for surgery. The surgeon will also be putting a camera in my leg since he feels there's something else wrong that didn't show up on xray or MRI. One of 3 things will happen. The worst that my leg won't straighten at all and I'll be handicapped for the rest of my life. The second and most painful would be if he can only straighten it a little. Then he'll cast me from thigh to ankle for 4-6 weeks and he'll do the same procedure until he's happy with the results up to within 10% of being completely straight. That would mean I could walk with a cane. The 3 and best thing would be if he could get it completely straight or within 10% of being straight. He'd cast me for 6-8 weeks and after everything is said and done, a possibility of 3-8 months of intensive physical therapy. The bones in my leg are deterorating. Any who, keep me in your positive thoughts. :) I'll need them!

Today at 2:30, I have an appointment, my very first appointment since my knee injury seven months ago, to see an orthopedic specialist. Granted it is a worker's comp doctor, but it's a step in the right direction. I hope he sees my injury for what it is and tries to help me rather than save the insurance company a few bucks.

You have my sympathy. I hurt my knee at work and had to get surgery. Very painful. Good luck!

My sister caught a garter snake today. It's a bitty bitty baby one. It's MAYBE 3 inches long. We're keeping it too. She gave him to me. His name is Karon (the God of chaos). I'm in love with him. So cute! If I could walk, I'd be chasing Mike with Karon ... Mike hates snakes. :D

So, I'm sitting here with Jade and she's eating her dinner. We're watching season 3 of The Muppet Show on dvd. The episode we're watching is the one with Alice Cooper. My mom just informed me that she knows his dad. She grew up with Alice. I'm 27 years old and I just found this out. Oh the things you learn about your parents and their childhood. -_-
